MEDIA RELEASE The North West Producers Network Moving Forward The Planning Committee of the North West Producers are to present an update on the planning that has been completed to date with respect to the roles, responsibilities and structure of the proposed north west producers network at a network function on Monday the 31st of August.
This session will begin with a presentation from Jane Bennett from Ashgrove Cheese on the “The Role of Regionality in the Marketing & Branding of Food’. Jane has returned from a number of regions of the world where she was able to study some of the food businesses in the region with the objective of identifying the key success factors in the production and branding of regional foods. As a result the study provides valuable research for regional food producers and Governments seeking to grow agricultural production and value to enhance regional Australian economies.
The Network Planning Committee will then present their recommendations and will seek from those in attendance reactions, responses and ultimately confirmation of a direction for the Network.
Interim Network Chairman Mr. Mike Badcock confirmed today that the producers network has generated considerable levels of interest from all sectors of the primary industry, the tourism and hospitality sectors, the education and training sectors and all levels of Government. “All of these organisations are eagerly awaiting the final establishment of this group (under a name to be finalized) and the identification of the groups priority roles and responsibilities and the Planning Group will answer these questions and more at this meeting” Mr. Badcock said .
