Esther H for her fantastic effort with her reading this term. Esther is reading with lovely expression, answering questions confidently from the text and reading a range of exciting books.

Year 4—Misty Mountain

As part of their Misty Mountain topic, Year 4 have been learning about maps, in particular the purpose of contour lines. After exploring how to show steep hills, flat land and valleys, the girls created their own mountains (some with two or even three peaks!) using different coloured foam to show the heights at each contour line.

Eco & Gardening Club

During Eco and Gardening Club this week, the girls planted the pots outside the Year 4 chalets with geraniums, fuchsias and much more. After their lesson with Alan the gardener, the girls understood how to divide the pots and where and how to place each plant. We also saw some of the hanging baskets we planted flourishing around the school. Well done girls!

Year 4—3D Keyrings

This week, Year 4 were ecstatic to have their 3D keyrings to take home. In the Spring Term, the girls used Tinkercad to create their own design of a keyring in the shape of a letter to represent their name. There were cylinders, cuboids and other shapes to make the initial and hearts and stars for decoration. They look fabulous adorning the girls' bags!

Year 3—Banana Splits

Year 3 have had a fun time making banana splits in their topic "Scrumdiddlyumptious". They had to write a list of instructions using imperative verbs, and then work in teams to make their delicious treat!

Year 5—Cranmore Ramble

Pupils in Year 5 from Cranmore and St Teresa’s took part in a ramble across the Surrey Hills, starting at Bocketts Farm and walking over Ranmore Common. They enjoyed lunch together before going their separate ways back to their respective schools. It was a beautifully sunny day and the girls really impressed us with their stamina and positive attitude.

Tosca at Grange Park Opera

A huge congratulations to Ella J, Isola R, Charlotte J, Coralie H and Amaya H who have been performing in Tosca throughout June and July with the Grange Park Opera Company and the BBC Concert Orchestra. We have had so many wonderful comments from the Company to let us know how professional and well behaved the girls have been. Mrs. Harris went to see them this week and was bursting with pride seeing them performing so beautifully on the stage!

T-Fest

We are excited to see the Chamber Choir, St Teresa’s Singers, Wind Band and String Ensemble performing at T Fest which begins at 6.30 on Monday. The girls will need to wear a T-Fest or plain black T-shirt with no logos and plain black bottoms. Please ensure the girls have their instruments in school for their rehearsals. Looking forward to seeing you all there – there will be a Pimms stand and an ice cream van too! Don’t forget your picnic and something to sit on!

One-to-One Music Lessons & Instruments

We have some spaces for one-to-one lessons and have some instruments that can be hired from the school. If you would like to try out any instruments or need any more information, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Harris.

This Week

It has been fantastic participating in a wide range of activities as part of Values Week, this year focusing on the Value of ‘Intellect’.

On Thursday, representatives from our Chaplaincy Team, along with representatives from the Senior School and Cranmore, attended the annual celebration of Catholic education at the Good Shepherd Service, this year held in Arundel Cathedral. This was a particularly special occasion as it coincided with the 150th Anniversary of the Cathedral. We were all warmly greeted by Bishop Richard as he received our offering of a woolly sheep in our school colours and a sash reminding everyone of our school values.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, we had our annual First Holy Communion Celebration Mass, with the girls from across our school, together with pupils from Cranmore, and their families coming together to celebrate this important event. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to celebrate together as a Trust.

And on Tuesday Year 6 gathered for the beginning of their leaving events, as we celebrated our Leavers’ Mass with all the girls and their parents. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to gather and give thanks for all that has been received and all the future promises! During Mass we recalled how Samuel, while still young, was called. We are all encouraged to recognise that God calls each and everyone of us. All we are asked to do is to respond. A huge ‘thank you’ goes to all the staff who helped us prepare so well, to the parents who joined us, to Fr Stephen for his constant support and to the girls who participated so well!

We hope that you have had a good week.

Please make sure that your child puts on sun cream for riding and a top that covers the shoulders. It has been very warm in the afternoons and evenings recently, and it feels even hotter when riding in the arena!

If there are any school trips or events that your daughter will be doing instead of riding, then please let the office know by phone or by email. As if you wish to cancel a lesson, we do require 48hrs notice or more in order to offer credit. Any later and we are unable to fill the slot with a rider for a catch up lesson or off the waitlist.
