Lower Prep celebrate Trust Value of ‘Intellect’ with STEM Workshop
The Lower Prep were delighted to take part in a KAPLA® workshop on Wednesday this week, in celebration of our Trust value of the year, Intellect
KAPLA® encourages logical thinking, stimulates creativity and helps develop concentration, patience and perseverance. It is also a great STEM resource. The children had an incredible time, building as a team, learning about cooperation and communication, as they collaborated in creating a wonderful ‘Cranmore Community’ out of the construction material.
The day concluded with a showcase of their monumental masterpiece to other year groups, before Year 3 had the great honour of demolishing it!
Year 2 News
In our geography unit this week, Year 2 have been learning about Kenya. This week we focused on the culture of Kenya, particularly the Maasai people. Year 2 learnt that the Maasai people are famous for their music, dance and jumping. Students had a go at the Maasai jump - look how high they jumped!
Year 1 News
Pupils in 1CG worked collaboratively in English to explain what happens on a farm during the different seasons. They came up with some amazing ideas and showed fantastic team work.
Reception News
Reception were excited to use the VR headsets this week in computing. They explored Arctic and Antarctic places and came face to face with a real Polar Bear! It made a few of us jump, but was a wonderful experience.
Nursery News
The Nursery children have all been learning about Chinese New Year. They performed a wonderful Dragon dance, wearing traditional costumes, playing musical instruments and wearing a Chinese Dragon head. There have been lots of related craft activities, which we hope you will enjoy seeing at our ‘Come and See’ event! The children have enjoyed sensory play with noodles and imaginary play in our very own Chinese restaurant.
