CR CONNECTIONS

VIEW FROM 22 Happy summer, CR! When I wrote this, I’d just completed a bouncy late evening ride in a MSP airport hotel shuttle van that was piloted by a spritely older gentleman. He was quite proud of his knowledge of astronomy and eagerly shared facts about the summer solstice as he pointed to the night’s full moon and exclaimed, “Look at that full moon on the summer solstice! The next time we’ll see that is 70 years from now!” I responded with, “I can’t wait!” Setting my smart comment aside, the day of the summer solstice is the longest of the year in hours of daylight and it reminded me of how our entire team at CR has been working relentlessly hard to meet all of our project deadlines and other professional commitments. I want to say that it does not go unnoticed. I’d like to personally thank all of you for the exceptional extra effort that you’ve been putting in that contributes to CR’s huge success. CR continues to do exceptionally well! We’ve just concluded the third quarter of our fiscal year and we are on track to conclude this year as another record-breaking year. Both our net revenues and profitability are well above our corporate goals. We are all incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by fantastic CR team members and equally lucky to have some very significant national clients that are the envy of many of our competitors. Thank you and congratulations on the job well done! I’d like to announce CR’s VISION 2017 event. VISION 2017 will be held Thursday, August 11th in Cincinnati. For those of you who have never attended this event, it is an all company meeting, hosted in Cincinnati, during which all of our offices will be closed and we’ll all gather together with three primary purposes – team building, review of CR’s Performance and Vision, and Staff Professional Development, which is to be facilitated by national speakers. It is a day and a half of fun, learning, great food, team building, and some beverages – always in a venue that is yet to be named. All out of town CR Team Members will arrive on Wednesday, August 10th and return Friday, August 12th. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend! In conclusion, I want to sincerely thank you for all your individual and collective efforts that are helping CR to be the great organization that it is. Regards, David S. Arends

Emily Huxtable attends SEDG Experience Seattle Emily Huxtable, an associate in the Cincinnati headquarters, attended the Society for Experiential Graphic Design Conference and Experience Seattle in June. This opportunity provided great exposure to the latest in environmental and experiential design technology through case studies from across the country. In her role this pertains to all forms of graphic communication through logos, interior and exterior signage, print, wayfinding systems, artwork and super graphics.

LISTEN FIRST, DESIGN NEXT LULY YANG

“Luly was the second to last speaker I was able to catch before running to the airport, and despite the anticipation of traveling, her simple message resonated with me in such an impactful way. Now a fashion designer, Luly began her career doing graphic design and draws upon the experience to influence the way she creates solutions. With Luly’s jump from the graphic design focus to fashion, she illustrates a common thread that seamlessly connects us as innovative problem solvers, using design to remedy, improve and create regardless of the type of end product. Luly explained how she envisions the overall concept for each piece and works from the inside out to construct the proper boning for the garment and allows the design to evolve into the perfect fit for her client. ” -Emily Huxtable

TEAM SPOTLIGHTS “Our Ruler Foods work (Division of Kroger) is in the hands of a team that quickly earned the trust and confidence of our client. Two new hires to our Dallas office in April, Leo Estrada and Ekanem Amba, found themselves as the two-person team hired to take on the completely vacated team that was responsible for the everyday needs of the Ruler Foods Program. Inside of their first four weeks with CR, they successfully issued a dozen project updates, secured 4 different stores permits across 3 different states, saw all four of those stores start construction on time, and both of them even managed to work in a week training in our Cincinnati office… Did I really just hear them say “What’s next?” The Kroger Southern Team is wrapping up the final 2016 FY projects while simultaneously roaring full steam ahead thru the 2017 FY project line-up. This team is the true definition of the CR way of getting it done. This team recipe gets 50% of its strength from the Kroger super force in Cinci with Bret Wilcox, Joe Russell, and Elias Lewis. Then we sprinkle on a couple of production aces from Denver in Jennifer Anderson and Kristin Pohlkamp. Then we stir in one more PM from Dallas, Pablo Salazar who provides the lion’s share of retail tenure to this high producing, client pleasing Kroger Southern Team.” Craig Rush

“It’s been a very busy spring and much appreciation to all the team members for their hard work and putting in the extra effort to hit our ever-expanding capacity. L Brands Bath and Body Works program is winding down for the 2016 season and new stores are starting to trickle in for the 2017 season. We expect an increase in the store count for the next year and will be getting more updates in the near future. L Brands’ Victoria’s Secret program is also reaching the end of the 2016 cycle and we are currently negotiating at least a doubling of the CR portion of the store count for the next season. Macy’s Impulse Beauty program is winding up this season with a bang! 15 projects getting surveyed and drawn in the last 10 weeks. Congratulations to everyone on the Macy’s team! On the horizon is the Macy’s Backstage program. We drew three stores this season, all starting construction soon. Starting early in July we will be ramping up for the full implementation of the 2017 program for which we have just submitted our first of many proposals.” Patrick Kirchberg

“Construction is coming to a close at Batavia Elementary School. The Building is scheduled for completion on July 1st and the dedication ceremony will be held August 13th. Careful planning and management has resulted in a project which is $1.14 Million under budget with an additional $1.03 Million in unused construction contingency. Altogether, the project stands at roughly $2.17 Million under the total project budget. CR will start the next Batavia School District project soon - the abatement and demolition of the existing elementary school. This project is anticipated to start late this summer.” Michael Voit

TIPS FROM HR VIRTUAL DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENTS

Did you know, you can now use your Anthem Medical Insurance to speak with a doctor or psychologist from the comfort of your own home or while traveling? LiveHealth Online allows you to use two-way video to speak with a board-certified doctor from your phone or computer. Doctors are available 24 hours a day and no appointment is needed for most visits. During your session the doctor will assess your condition and can even prescribe prescriptions. On the PPO plan visits cost $30 and on the HSA plan visits cost $49. For HSA participants this is likely less expensive than an in-person doctor’s visit. Common health issues addressed through LiveHealth Online include colds, flu, allergies, sinus infections, bronchitis, pinkeye, rashes, and urinary tract infections. You can also make an appointment to speak with a licensed therapist or psychologist for online counseling. Online counseling is $30 on the PPO plan and $80 - $95 on the HSA plan. To access the system, either visit www.livehealthonline.com or download the LiveHealth Online mobile app. You can use the service in all states other than Texas, Arkansas, and Alaska.
