timber tower & secret chord Project Information Occupancy: Business // Multi-residential Focus: Use of heavy timber for majority of structure. Project Synopsis Concept of the project was to create a multi-use building that incorporated green building techniques, a public space, and utilized heavy timber. We were instructed to create details and sections of all typical details. The project uses cross-laminated floors and LVL beams for main structural elements. Corten metal panels wrap the building on all sides, except where the resident’s balconies are located. Apartment sizes ranged from 600sqft to a 1,500sqft penthouse.

kansas city, ks community center Project Information Occupancy: Assembly // Business Focus: Re-imagine existing community center to draw in more users. Project Synopsis Two buildings hug a social space that steps down towards a nearby lake. A trellis spans between the buildings acting as a physical and visual bridge. Spaces are organized by use, with one building housing all workout related activities and the other housing all educational spaces. The social space ties the two buildings together with views into each building and creation of a central presence.
