PM Narendra Modi pays respect to APJ Abdul Kalam at Palam Airport President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar and the three Service Chiefs paid respect to former President APJ Abdul Kalam at Palam airport terminal at about 12.44 pm on Tuesday. The mortal remains to be of the delayed former President were taken to New Delhi in a special Indian Air Force airplane at about 12.15 on Tuesday. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal too paid his tribute to the former President at about 12.38 pm followed by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung. Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar set wreath followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose cavalcade reached about 12.42. Vice President Hamid Ansari and President Pranab Mukherjee set a wreath at the location and officially obtained the mortal remains to be of his forerunner on the background of a ceremonial guard of honor. Kalam’s body was later taken to 10 Rajaji marg, his official residence in an Army vehicle. Defense Ministry Spokesman Sitanshu Kar tweeted that Kalam’s mortal remains to be would be kept start to public at his property 4 pm forward.
