CALL FOR MORE CARERS IN DONCASTER

Last month, Doncaster Children’s Services Trust held a successful campaign at Lakeside Shopping Village as it continues to find residential care officers and foster carers from across the borough

Doncaster Children’s Services Trust delivers social care and support services to children, young people and families in Doncaster on behalf of the town’s council.

The Trust Fostering team and residential team chatted to a variety of people who think they have what it takes to help children across Doncaster feel at home. People with an interest in making a difference had the opportunity to speak to members of the residential and Trust Fostering team to find out more about the roles available, the benefits and support on offer. Cathy Richardson, Service Manager, said: “We have exciting times ahead of us in residential as we are in the midst of expanding and developing our care offer for children and young people across Doncaster. We are looking for dedicated and caring individuals who are interested in joining us on this journey as a key member of our children’s homes teams making a difference to the children we care for.

“This event was also an opportunity to hear all about our plans and hear how the work we do changes lives. Thanks to the dedication of our residential teams we have created a culture of care where we help our children and young people by offering round the clock support, in a safe and stable environment.

“We aim to make a difference and create memories but this isn’t possible without a brilliant workforce to help drive this forward, so we really would love to see this grow.”

Trust Fostering Recruitment Manager, Nigel Turner, added: “We need more people who are thinking about fostering to get in touch. If you’ve been thinking about fostering this is a great way to find out more about how you could open up your home and help improve the lives of children and young people from Doncaster. “Our foster carers come from all backgrounds but have one thing in common – they care. We would like to see our team of carers grow with more individuals who will put the child/children at the heart of all they do.”
