Working closely with park and conference center representatives, Hitchcock Design Group developed a plan to accentuate the best characteristics of this unusual, magnificent natural asset: the 1,500-acre Robert Allerton Park. By concentrating on the 90-acre park core, Hitchcock Design Group was able to accommodate the increasing and sometimes conflicting requirements of park patrons, while allowing for full access to educational and recreational facilities.

Specific recommendations for this historically-significant property included the refinement of existing facilities, practical and aesthetic improvements to both pedestrian and vehicular circulation patterns, upgraded lighting, and centralization of maintenance facilities.
