Introduction Subsidence in house foundations usually occurs as a direct consequence of the action of water. This water washes away the fines from the medium under the foundations thereby weakening it and allowing movement in the foundations. Repair of this damage is readily addressed by pressure grouting under the foundations, installing mini piles and cross-beams or a combination of these procedures.
The Tell-Tale Signs of Subsidence:> New or expanding cracks in plasterwork > New or expanding cracks in brickwork. > Doors or windows sticking. > Rippling wallpaper. If you notice any of the above in your house, you should have it inspected in order to confirm whether or not there is subsidence. We have the experienced personnel to carry out these inspections.
What To Do If Subsidence is Confirmed... If subsidence is confirmed we oer a complete service, from the appointment of an Independent Engineer who will carry out all negotiations with the Insurance Company on your behalf, to the completion of the repair works.

Shotcreting & Guniting
Shotcreting Shotcreting is an economical way of spraying concrete in large quantities where the concrete is discharged straight from the concrete truck to the shotcrete pump and is used on applications such as:> Slope Stabilisation
> Retaining Walls
> Swimming Pools
> Refractory Spraying
> Rockscapes
> Concrete Domes
> Artificial Rocks Shotcrete is mortar or concrete conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface. Shotcrete undergoes simultaneous placement and compaction due to the force with which it is projected from the special shotcrete nozzle. It can be impacted onto any type or shape of surface, including those in vertical or overhead areas.
Guniting Gunite is a dry process where air pressure is used to convey dry material from the gunite machine through a hose to the nozzle where water is added. The process is suited to situations where smaller quantities, restricted access, or concrete delivery diďŹƒculties apply.

Rock Anchoring/Bolting
Rock Anchoring/Bolting Rock Anchors are durable, reliable, economical, tension supports used in a wide variety of situations to stabilise, secure, and augment structures. Made of high strength steel bars or strands, rock bolt anchoring bonds these steel bars and strands to rock, concrete and many types of soil. Rock bolt anchoring is used to counteract external, overturning, uplift, and seismic forces, and are used actively (prestressed) or passively (non-stressed). Stranded tendons can be fabricated for extremely high capacity loads. Rock Bolt anchoring uses Soil and Rock Anchors or “Nails that are fully grouted passive, or non-tensioned anchors used to resist uplift or failure forces for earth retention, slope or rock face stabilisation.

Soil Nailing
Soil Nailing The objective of soil nailing is to improve in situ soil mass strength by the installation of slender unstressed reinforcement which acts as a tension member. Soil nails are usually steel bar, grouted into pre-drilled holes. Soil nails bind the soil slope together so that the mass strength is mobilised. When close spaced, the soil nails form a monolithic block which acts as a retaining structure. Soil nails are often used for existing slopes which might have stood for a long time but which have an inadequate Factor of Safety. Simple and quick to install, and cheaper than external structural solutions such as retaining walls, soil nails cause minimal disturbance to the existing slope. Soil nails are often accompanied by some dressing of the slope surface such as shotcreting.

Pressure Grouting/Pointing
Pressure Grouting Pressure grouting is used in the repair of house foundations and masonry structures including arched bridges, retaining walls, dams and culverts. The process involves introducing neat cement grout, or cement/sand grout, through a series of injection holes to the material under the foundation / within or behind the structure with a view to strengthening this material or filling any voids that exist within it. Injection pressures require careful monitoring as excess pressure would very quickly cause severe damage to the structure / foundations.
Pressure Pointing Pressure pointing is used in the repair of masonry structures. It is the process of mechanically applying mortar (lime or cement based) to the masonry joint using a mortar pump and hose. Large joints can be economically and eectively filled by this method which applies mortar from the rear of the joint out to the face.

Piling
Piling The Piling rigs we employ are particularly suited to restricted access and limited headroom applications. We oer augered and bored pile solutions 150mm - 300mm diameter and self drilled piles 75mm - 225mm diameter.

A
ltus is a striking development of 29 contemporary apartments on Sundays Well Road, Cork, nestled into the urban landscape on the North Channel of the River Lee, looking over the Mardyke Walk, the River Lee and Cork City Centre. The guiding concept for this south facing development is to maximise light in the apartments and to capture the wonderful views of the River Lee and Cork City. The use of, large amounts of glass; private open spaces in the form of large balconies and terraces; grass roofs; all combine to give true expression to this concept. The mix of apartment types, including duplex and triplex units, provides an added interest and vitality. The Courtyard, at Podium level, is beautifully landscaped to create a calm, open air amenity for all the apartments.
The interiors of the apartments are designed in a minimalist style, with the use of hidden storage a delightfully creative feature. Attention to detail is evident throughout and all fixtures, fittings and finishes have been sourced and chosen with the greatest of care - contemporary Belgian light fittings; Flaminia sanitary ware; Gessi sanitary fittings; Italian tiling; energy saving Tripleglazed windows/sliding doors. The apartments have achieved the A-Energy rating and have been constructed accordingly to the highest standard. The Heating System is a very economical Heat Recovery System which is among the most eďŹƒcient, sustainable and cost eective heating and hot water systems available and the yearly running costs of this system are considerably less than conventional gas or oil systems.
ALTUS is a unique development, located in the heart of Cork City.

Blarney itself, with worldwide acclaim, is known as “the biggest little village in Ireland” set in the beautiful, rivered and wooded countryside just five miles and eight minutes drove from Cork City. The settlement at Blarney has quite a unique physical and historical character which can be said to derive from the three main elements, the Castle, the Woollen Mills and the Square. In Tudor-style, the village has developed around its unique and well preserved village square, which is owned and carefully maintained by the Blarney Castle Estate. Blarney is steeped in mystical and magical charm, offering the visitor a host of wonderful things to do, and for the new residents of “Bracken Wood”, it is a dream of tranquility made real.
