CREATIVE ARTS NORTH STAFFS PROUDLY PRESENT..
A COLLABORATION BETWEEN: CREATIVE ARTS NORTH STAFFS CONNEXIONS POTTERIES MUSEUM & ART GALLERY Y.M.C.A
about the project..
the digital graffiti project was an initiative made possible by successful partnership working between: Creative Arts North Staffs (C.A.N.S) Connexions The Potteries Museum & art gallery y.m.c.a ..and of course all of the young people that took part!!
young people worked with professional artists to create original graffiti designs using traditional and digital manipulation techniques
..the young people learnt how letters can flow using graffiti drawing techniques. they then transformed thier work onto a dynamic arts software, allowing them to draw on screen
digital manipulation..
creating graffiti logos or identities
to ease anxiety over working on the computers, learners could spend time developing thier designs on paper.
these sessions gave them freedom to explore and discuss their work creatively amongst their peers
Learners then used electronic pens to draw their designs on laptops. here they learnt to take risks, experiment with colour palettes and understand the tools of an artist!
the sessions allowed learners to speak freely about their lives, their emotions about what makes them happy and their struggles..
they could then take their work away with them, some wanted to practice more techniques in their own time.. some felt they'd created something to be proud of and wanted to show their mates!
