Phlebotomists pay ranges from $19,000 - $26,000 per year.

PHLEBOTOMY

Program Schedule

A person trained to perform phlebotomy procedures is a called a phlebotomist. Phlebotomy is the technique of obtaining blood from a vein or skin puncture for laboratory analysis which aids in patients diagnosis.

The first week will consist of lecture and students laboratory practice. Classes are held (days) Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (evenings) 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Class times for Saturday are to be announced.

Friday’s Place Health Education & Training Program is approved by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.

Phlebotomy Program Description The first half of the training provides instruction (120 hours) in the skills needed for proper collection of blood. Emphasis is placed on ethics, medical terminology legalities, safety, specimen collection/procession, anatomy and physiology. The second half of the training provides clinical experience (80 hour) in which students visit a variety of healthcare settings within sites chosen by the FPI training program to develop skills necessary to perform successful phlebotomy procedures. Students should plan to commit to 30-32 hours per week for clinical. Final examination and evaluations will be completed in the last week of the course.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded a certificate and are eligible to take the ASPT National Certification examination.

Program Fee The program fee for the course is:

$850.00 *Tuition and fees are subject to change. *Textbook purchased separately online.

The fee for the program fee includes a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. To assist students who may have financial hardships, payment plans are available. After successfully registering for the program, students will attend an information session. During the sessions, students will be given the necessary details on expectations, requirements, and class schedules.
