Situated in the alleys off Daihe Lu, these informal stalls will allow you to mix with the locals. • Guangzhou boasts some of China’s oldest temples. Don’t miss Guangxiao Temple, an ancient Buddhist temple with over 1,600 years of history. • Go for a relaxing stroll through Guangzhou’s People’s Park, a 48,000-square-metre park, where you may come across locals playing ping pong, dancing or doing Tai Chi.

DUBAI

LOCAL tips • Dubai hosts some major world sporting events such as the Dubai Tennis Championships, Desert Classic and Rugby Sevens. If you want to catch one of these, it’s essential to book well in advance. • Visit the Gold souk for cheap gold, but be prepared to haggle. The stalls also offer platinum, diamonds and silver, and are heavily regulated by the government so you can be sure your buy is genuine. • Head to Dubai Mall for the ultimate shopping experience. As the world’s largest, with over 1200 stores, an Olympicsized ice rink, a huge aquarium, indoor theme parks and so many places to eat, this is no ordinary mall!

4 Days in Dubai 3 nights from $879* per person Day 1: Arrive at Dubai Airport and transfer to the deluxe Warwick Hotel Dubai for check in. Embark on a guided half-day tour, visiting sites including the Spice souk, Gold souk and Textile souk.
