I would like to welcome all of you to the new season, as our First XI return to the Premier Division of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.
Many thanks to Richard Benstead for his excellent photographs in the fixture book once again this year.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR
CHAIRMAN DEREK NOAKES
As you will find in the pages of this booklet we will again field a range of sides, as we continue to offer cricketing opportunities for all-comers (competitive and recreational) as well as the opportunity for player development. We offer a special welcome to all new or returning players and members to The Deer Park.
As ever, thanks go to our main sponsors, Cameron Homes, supporting us for the second year, as well as all others who support us financially. We are also indebted to our club officers and committee members for offering time and services again in 2019. Remember we can all contribute so if you have an idea, are willing to volunteer or simply want to get involved more in the day-to-day running of the club, we’d love to hear from you. As we develop further our community, seeking an ever wider participation, I would also urge every supporter, parent, friend and player to participate in some of our range of social events too. We all have a responsibility to ensure the social side of the club is as active as the cricket side.
We are all in for a good time and I’m sure that, like me, you can’t wait to start the season!

19

Any disciplinary or complaint hearings in connection with a breach of these rules shall be dealt with in accordance with the disciplinary procedure as set out in the Club constitution or Cricket Section Regulations as may be amended from time to time.
20
Dunstall Cricket Club Disciplinary Rules The Derbyshire Country Cricket League (DCCL) recently reminded all players, supporters and officials of a worrying trend in the increase of on-field indiscipline and a growing problem of ‘dissent towards cricket umpires’ nationally. The DCCL are taking this very seriously and all umpires will be instructed to adopt a ZERO TOLERANCE approach towards indiscipline. Dunstall Cricket Club is rightly proud of our tradition in operating within the Spirit of Cricket, and as such, we fully support the strong stance being advocated by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the local leagues, in which we participate. Therefore, all players and supporters - at all levels - are reminded of the our basic procedures and guidelines:1.Dunstall Cricket Club operate a Disciplinary Policy in accordance with the current Disciplinary Rules operating within the jurisdiction of the ECB and the DCCL; 2.The ECB “Code of Conduct and Spirit of Cricket” statement shall operate throughout the Club; 3.These rules shall apply to all League, Cup, Representative, Junior and Indoor matches played under the auspices of Dunstall Cricket Club and any functions organised by the Club; 4.This includes adhering to the DCCL Social Media policy outlined elsewhere within this booklet
PROLOGUE
ALL Dunstall Cricket Club members who attend or participate in Derbyshire County League matches must ensure that they are aware of and adhere the League Policy. This is displayed around both the Deer Park and Rangemore pavilions and changing rooms.
SOCIAL MEDIA
22
Social Media is a brilliant communication tool for anybody that plays, watches or has an interest in cricket in the Derbyshire County League. The League Twitter feed @DerbysCountyLge now has over 1600 followers, and new registrations and transfers as well as the result of every game in the League are posted there. The interactions we receive are overwhelmingly constructive and positive, and providing a little common sense is shown there is no need for anyone to be afraid of posting. Cricket Derbyshire has developed six guidelines to help cricket supporters make the most of social media and judge what is and is not appropriate. Six questions to ask before you post or share 1. Would saying this be acceptable if I was attending a cricket match in person? Remember it just isn’t cricket to show a lack of respect. 2. Would I want my boss, my family or my coach to see this? “Views expressed are my own” won’t stop them being embarrassed or change the opinions they form. 3. Would a newspaper publish this? If the answer is no, it probably breaks libel or defamation laws. 4. Am I 100% certain this is acceptable? If in doubt, leave it out. 5. Before sharing or re-tweeting, would I write this myself and do I endorse it? If the answer is no, don’t pass it on. By re-tweeting or sharing, you might as well be posting it yourself. 6. How would I feel if someone wrote this about me? If you wouldn’t like it, don’t post it. PS – Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for what is posted from your profile whether you wrote it or not.
PRINCIPLES Below are our principles for dealing with malicious communications related to or associated with cricket in the Derbyshire County League. Zero Tolerance Insulting, offensive, obscene, injurious or false content can be dangerous and harmful to people’s wellbeing and reputation as well as bringing the league into disrepute. We will not tolerate any malicious communications, harassment or discrimination through social media. Do not use social media to make malicious, insulting, offensive, obscene or false statements regarding our players, coaches, officials, volunteers or spectators. This applies regardless of whether (i) You are posting yourself or sharing someone else’s post. (ii) The individual is tagged in the post or not (iii) The communication is by word, photograph, video or any other form. (iv) The post is anonymous or not. If we can trace it back to you, we will act. Sanctions If you are found to have acted improperly on social media regarding a Derbyshire County League related matter, or towards any of our players, coaches, officials, volunteers or spectators, you risk any or all of the following: • Legal proceedings under the Malicious Communications Act • Civil action under libel law • Punishment, including possible bans, deemed appropriate by the disciplinary committees of the leagues. • Sanctions imposed by the league disciplinary committees on the club with which you are registered. REPORT A BREACH If you have witnessed a breach of this Code of Conduct and wish to make a complaint, you should email dcclsec@talktalk.net and dcclgpd@hotmail.co.uk with as many details as possible. It is also best to block the person posting. Dunstall C C members must also inform the Club Welfare Officer, prior to any further action being taken.
With acknowledgement to Cricket Derbyshire’s Social Media Adviser; Dr Zaheer Hussain, Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Derby.

the RANGEMORE club
The Rangemore is a great meeting place for anyone within the localities of Tatenhill, Rangemore and Barton under Needwood. We pride ourselves on a friendly, clean and relaxing atmosphere.
There's something for everyone, fine ales, a fantastic snooker table played on by Royalty no less, Sky Sports, BT Sport and ESPN for all those not wanting to miss sporting events and regular pool and darts events. We even host special evenings such as Spirit Nights, Karaoke, Ghost Walks and parties! Look out for our regular 'live music sessions.'
At the heart of the National Forest...
We are a dog friendly venue, welcoming passing walkers and visitors to the area. We don't serve food but if you're out for a walk and would like somewhere to enjoy a refreshing drink, you can even bring your own lunch. We open at 5pm on weekdays and 12 noon at the weekend. Room hire is free of charge for your own special event, so if you would like more information email rangemore@mail.com or ring Joanna on 07756 567807.
