WOOD INLAYING Art of furniture construction inlaid with wood, shell, bone, motherof-pearl and metals. The BargueĂąos furniture are the most representative one. This workshop is held on the basic techniques of wood carving and inlaying, the visitor will learn about techniques of woodworking.
PAINTING Experience in the Maximum Convent of San Francisco de Quito, where the visitor can go into the customs of the religious order, and learn from their art, they will know the process of making their beer and finish painting at 30 meters high.

NATURE WORKSHOPS YUNGUILLA COMMUNITY TOURISM The Yunguilla Conservation and Sustainable Use Area is the result of a process of community organization and environmental conservation that began in 1995, with a forest development project in the Yunguilla Community. There, you can carry out various activities such as: Hiking through the Culuno Guanto Pungo-Pelagallo (ancestral way of the Yumbo Culture) to participate in the daily activities of the Community such as making cheese, jams, handicrafts, and harvesting in the organic garden.

BEEKEEPING Who are the members of the hive: how were they born, how long do they live and what are their functions? How is honey made? How is beeswax produced? What is propolis and how is it produced? The whole theory will be developed next to a hive, ahumandor, the instructor will remain in apicultural clothing. For professional and health reasons the beehive used will not have bees but the necessary material as well as honey, pollen and propolis. The visitors can enjoy the flavors of freshly harvested honey from the hive, propolis and beeswax.
PAMBILIÑO RESERVE & EDUCATIONAL FARM Pambiliño Reserve & Educational Farm is an Independent Conservation Project, and a space where nature itself teaches the forgotten knowledge that we all have in the interior. In Pambiliño, conservation and education is promoted in the Chocó Rainforest of Ecuador working with the forest, with the community of Mashpi, with institutions and organizations, students, volunteers, teachers and anyone interested in the conservation and sustainability of rainforests. In the Reserve you can carry out ecological activities such as: hiking in the cloud forest, bird watching, milking, harvesting of organic products, and participation in the daily tasks of the reserve.

GASTRONOMY WORKSHOPS PRODUCTION OF POT TORTILLAS & BISCUITS Molino San Juan (1890) is the living testimony of the culture of “wheat milling” to produce flour. We offer the elaboration of ancestral recipes from wheat flour. It is a cooking class that rescues the history of the heritage gastronomy of northern Ecuador. The tasting is combined with milk delicacy and leaf cheese, made at the hacienda, and chuspa coffee.
HERITAGE COOKING “Mishki Lab – The Tasty Laboratory”, is a proposal of the Quito Eterno Foundation to rescue the heritage importance of Ecuadorian food , our cooking workshops bring people closer to the food heritage from different proposals: Historic Food Workshop: we reconstruct dishes based on old recipes. The Cooking of the Grandmothers Workshop: re-valorization of knowledge at the intra-family level. Workshop that Cures: food as a process of promotion of physical, psychological and emotional health. Workshop Curing Plants: medicinal uses of plants, preparation of syrups and creams. This initiative is strengthened through the partnership with “Sabor i Patrimonio”, whose objective is the historical research of culinary heritage and the Seed Guard Network, which seeks to promote knowledge of food sovereignty, agroecology, seed protection ancestral and fair trade between producers and consumers.

VEGAN TRUFFLES AND CHOCOLATE TASTING Elaboration of vegan truffles: the activity begins begins with an explanation of cocoa worldwide, the history of cocoa in Ecuador and the history of Pacari chocolate. Step by step it is tought how to make vegan chocolate truffles using mostly Pacari products (99% pacari) with the exception of marmalade. After the elaboration of the truffles, we proceed with the elaboration of some boxes of Pacari where the client will keep the truffles that he has made, if they do not consume them in the place. It starts with chocolate tasting explaining the correct way to do it. It uses seven different flavors of chocolates highlighting the origin of each type. In this way the client learns in a professional way to taste a chocolate.

CRAFT WORKSHOPS PAINT THE GALO DE BARCELOS (BARCELOS ROOSTER) The Imagery is incomparable to any other artisanal production in Barcelos due to its unique features. It is a production of excellence, of which the most common pieces are related to religion and celebrations, everyday life or beasts (devils, grotesque and ambiguous figures), among others, with the Rooster of Barcelos in the spotlight. With this workshops you will discover that with the clay the artisan brands the body of the object, but with the fluids of colors you can shape its soul.
CERAMICS AND OTHER CRAFTS TAILOR-MADE Barcelos is undoubtedly a land of ceramists. All year round we welcome you to discover the art of working on the potters wheel, create your own clay crockery or imagery. In this process you will discover that substance becomes, at each new object created, an instrument with its own personality, with the power to build memories and tales. BARCELOS POTTERY It’s currently a certified production that has reinvented itself in forms and concepts, in the light of the appearance of new materials and utensils, but maintaining its authenticity as an identity art of the county of Barcelos.
BARCELOS IMAGERY Barcelos Imagery started as a subsidiary activity of pottery, using small portions of clay and occupying the spaces left free in the oven by the main set of pieces of bigger dimensions. They were small figures shaped in the form of people and animals and on their base was placed a whistle or some musical instruments (harmonica, ocarina, nightingales, cuckoos‌). Their function was merely a playful one

TIMBER The timber is a raw material used in the production of decorative and utilitarian pieces, reason why also in Barcelos there are some craftsmen who work this raw material in a detailed and artistic form. The most common pieces are wooden miniatures, which mostly represent scenes of rural life (granaries, rakes, looms, spindles, etc.) and toys. In terms of larger pieces, are essentially produced, agricultural utensils, rustic furniture and religious items
IRON AND DERIVATES This type of craftsmanship is greatly appreciated for the detailed work and variety of pieces. The work of the raw material, difficult by nature, culminates in objects of rare beauty and aesthetic magnificent. With the exception of some utilities (lamps, pots, vases, poultices, alembics, etc.), the majority of the pieces produced are for decorative purposes, such as, chandeliers, watering cans, lamps, candle supports, oilers, among others . One of the pieces most appreciated by tourists are the famous Barcelos Rooster in iron or copper

ENBROIDERY AND WEAVING The art of embroidering and weaving is a tradition in the county of Barcelos, in particular in the parish of Carreira, having in the known Sieve Embroidery of S. Miguel da Carreira an old tradition, with very own characteristics that by its forms and minutia differs from the other Minho’s embroidery. In Barcelos there are still craftsmen, in many parishes, who weave in traditional looms and embroider in a traditional way, conserving the knowledge and techniques that, for years, were the base of the economy of some parishes.
BASKETRY AND WICKER Basketry and Wicker are an indispensable element for the knowledge and enjoyment of regional handicrafts. Throughout all the county, we can also find artisans, who individually or in the family, produce basketry pieces, either with a utilitarian or a bold and innovative decorative sense.
