Dear Future OFW Partner, In just two years Omaha Fashion Week has emerged as a significant force in the local creative & event scene. In 2008 we were amazed at the talent that 12 local designers produced, attracting an audience nearly 3,000 strong. The designers, stylists, photographers, planners and models seamlessly connected and proved that Omaha greatly benefited from an event of this magnitude. OFW 2009 featured 25 local designers and over 5,000 in attendance (including 4,000 at the grand finale) -making Omaha Fashion week the leading fashion industry event in the Midwest. Success speaks for itself and we now know that Omaha’s amazing creative designers deserve free professional platforms to nurture their talent even further. We will continue to offer this assistance in-kind despite the fact that many regional fashion weeks charge designers up to $10,000 each to show. Omaha Fashion Week’s success has also caught the attention of professionals from NYC, LA and even overseas, who have inquired about growing the design community in Omaha. The 2010 season will continue to discover and celebrate local fashion innovations, which to date includes nearly 40 established and emerging designers ages 13-25. OFW will dedicate the week of September 13 to showcasing this talent with the grand finale show on Saturday, September 18th. In addition, OFW is taking this year’s production to the next level with the debut of Omaha Fashion Magazine, a VIP Season Preview and OFW productions each month leading up to September. Omaha Fashion, the official magazine of Omaha Fashion Week, will feature hidden creative treasures in Omaha and showcase Omaha’s most prestigious and fashion-forward businesses. The VIP Season Preview debuted in March and blended Omaha’s crème de la creative and professional community with an audience 300 strong! The intimate event featured the fashion of 11 designers, spotlighted 90 models and truly kicked off the 2010 Omaha Fashion Week Season in STYLE! We are also pleased to announce our expanding team of media partners that ensure OFW is well known throughout Omaha, the Midwest and beyond. This includes WOWT Channel 6, Metro Magazine, Shout! Omaha and other effective, non-traditional local and national media outlets.
