Once produced, cakes are being shock-frozen at -36°C and then stored below -18 °C to preserve freshness for a longer time without usage of excessive additives. As frozen cake is not always a top choice of the consumer we have worked out and successfully implemented 4 easy concepts to match logistic possibilities and expectations of distributors, retailers, HoReCa and consumers. Frozen cakes can be defrosted on different stages of the supply chain and provide many benefits to all the parties, including taking control over waste.

Thaw & Sell Inaccurate forecast for chilled cakes may result in either lost sales or bigger waste in the store. In both cases you lose profit or price on the shelf becomes too high. Avoid waste by keeping bigger amount of frozen cakes in store and thaw only as much as needed by moving cakes out of freezer into chilled place for 10 hours (usually overnight). Lower shelf price per package turns cakes into an everyday treat and guarantee ongoing sales.
