Facade Concept Sketches

General Concept Sketches

Sketches of concept design and thought process. My design was influenced by the seminar my colleagues and I had to present. Following Anna Puigjaner’s definition regarding what repair is in “Some Notes About Repair”, I went through many stages of design before finally settling on a final proposal. She describes and categorises in her own words and opinion what repair is. My proposal also responds to the needs of the citizens in the neighbourhood. After researching and interviewing a couple of people in the area, I got some answers regarding what is needed.

Interior Concept Sketches

Sketches of Proposal. The purpose of my building is inspired by Peckham Levels. Through my research I have found that the area lacks a public place where people can meet, work or relax. There is an outdated library south of Willow House, and unfortunately William Morris Gallery is struggling. This lead for me to assign each floor a different purpose that the neighbourhood might need or use. After many attempts there are traces where you can see that the design is inspired by Seagram Building by Mies Van Der Rohe and Novartis Campus Fabrikstrasse 6 by Peter Markli.
