Hi! This portfolio pretends to be the expected beginning of a promissing career, showing some examples of the academic result of five dedicated years to Architecture, as well as the passion of one life by different forms of expression and representation. I was born on the 24th April, 1990 in Oporto, Portugal. Since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by the Arts’ world! The Forms and Textures and Lights and Colours... I see myself as an extroverted and curious, helpfull and commited person, that beyond doing, lives all the projects that embraces. Perfectionist in a certain sense, rarely I feel completly happy with my final results. In love with Life, Humanity and Beauty, Architecture studies became to me as a truthful growth area, for its envolvement with all the others disciplines, serving them in a simple and harmonious form. I believe that, as an Architect, I have the duty of designing a healthy body/organism rather than a skin mimicking it. During my academic journey I specialized myself in Landscaping (the large scale representation, the current urban issues, knowing and enjoying terrain); in Public Space (looking for new proceedings in a era where resources are scarse and people call for a low cost creativity); and in Construction (learning how to interpret materials, structures and the concept of the building as an whole). In adiction to those great areas, my instincts led me to choose disciplines of Representation, Aesthetics and Science Fiction, as well as Methos and Templates for Indwell and Rehabilitation (specialization in wood). Although I hasn’t yet traveled very much, I’m aware of its importance for my training, in the perspective of the knowledge of different ways of life and search of solutions to the respective environmental adaptations. During the 5 years in the University Campus I tried to learn the most I could by sharing expertise with Erasmus studets from all over the globe. In the course of my Final Master’s Dissertation I interned in a Company (Jofebar), being part of a group developing a project for a new window, theme of my mastership. Nowadays, enthusiastic on deepen my Architecture studies but aware of the practice needs, I’m looking for a job that fits in the Architects Association’s statutes. Thank you for your attention! / Enjoy

The goal for this exercise was to create a residential complex, interpreted as an element of the relationship between urban fabric and home space, like in the “Unité de Marseille” by Le Corbusier. We should respond to different lifestyles, developing a condominium consisting of 12 buildings with 1250 m2 each. We chose to design the 12 units with a similar format, deployed along the national road and facing the freeway though in a higher level, to replenish the urban scenario there was before the construction of this high speed via. Arranged in seemingly random fashion, the implementation respects the natural continuities and each program (either public or private), with focus on different points of view. Its U-shape generates squares giving access to the remaining natural terrain where, in some cases, commercial space is enlarged. In the buildings with trade, the stores are restricted to the ground floor, and in the remainig units, all the four floors above parking are for housing. There are two types of apartments, built in a transversal or longitudinal logic, depending on the leg of the unit in which they are located.

We have been invited to reflect and intervene in landscape of Pevidém. Characterized by it sensitive area - a national agricultural and ecological reserve -, the overlapping of urban and rural areas counseled to the search of non-traditional forms of intervention. Four distinct areas, linked by Selho river, have been identified. The strategy was the creation of mini-circuits interconnected by a larger one, along the river, so that people, walking them by, captured the particularities of all the place. To be more than the simple pleasure of walking, we also proposed the adaptation of some abandoned structures that we considered like having the potential to be deployed as public spaces: a fair with parking under the highway, a small unit of enotourism and a bar, besides providing to the Selho’s park some extra equipment. One bike path follows the 4 km long circuit along the river and we seek that, in confluence points with the mini-circuits as well as in the support spots, the memories of the river importance could be revived, making it “reappear” in the sections that are piped nowadays. We based our choices for this work in several interviews to local inhabitants we met during the several crossovers we had to do, filming and photographing the place. We tried to find different ways to convey the peculiarities found in this areas, including those graphics that represent the elevation of the terrain and the difficulty we felt by skimming through it.

As a living organism, Viana depends on the daily dynamics for its survival. After studying and experiencing the city it was proposed to create a building, hybrid both in its programme and constructive method, in order to join the historic center with modern edge by the river. The building’s shape comes from the study of the city’s history, in which the river proved to be crucial to it’s development. To strengthen the citizens’ desire to reconnecting the river with the city, an extention of the old wall has been created that hugs the river plunging it. In addiction, a roof walkway keeps a direct contact between visitors and the water, ending in a natural pool that completes the building. The river floods make this relationship even more special, as they condiction the functions in some parts of the building. Drawn according the studie of Comfort"

desconstruction of Modulor, we
aspire that the hydrid character of the building would be naturally conditioned by its architectonic ergonomy. Materiality is part of the concept, linking granitic rock (2x1x0, 4m) and concrete (with different formwork) capacities, on a set of two bodies that work symbiotically.

Studying the Avenida da Boavista we realized that, despite being considered by motorists (which have captured it) merely as a quick short cut, the avenue as well at its surroundings, hide a real untapped wealth. Therefore, we focus our study in its depths, recognizing the importance of their continuous spaces and enhancing the complicity of its contiguous spaces.
ACCOMPLICES
In this project we’ve proposed to return to the avenue three of this accomplices
areas which we considered maybe able
to be the engine of a harmonious and continuous development of conviviality in this iconic avenue of Oporto. We strongly believe that by merging the Mouzinho de Albuquerque Square, the Foco and the Aviz on the avenue, its five kilometers long may become a real nice lounge for the Oporto inhabitants. Being identified the problems in each of this areas we proposed Resize Aviz, reversing the relationship sidewalks/streets and consequently benefiting commercial development; Permeabilize Foco, not only literally but for a genuine dialog between the two sides of the avenue; and Link the Rotunda da Boavista with Casa da Música Square, creating a real connection between the two acessing to the subway. Regarding to th avenue itself, beyond the project forces to continue the bike path already implemented we still proposed
to strategically
place some bottlenecks in all the accomplices areas in order

to drastically reduce the speed of motorized vehicles.

(conservation and restoration of built heritage)
In the need of reviewing the rehabilitation concept, our proposal consists in developing a conceptual framework capable of being applied in future works on the same zone, based on an intervention in three houses in Oporto downtown. Based on the surroundings, the proposed program has been ‘student residencies’ in the upper floors and ‘stores’ (a grocery and a bike rental) in the ground floor. Wood was chosen to be the structural material as it allows easy adjustments during construction, making work easier in the event of errors being found during survey. Recreating typically Portuguese structures (Pombalinas) we have the possibility of changing spaces as a whole, allowing that each room/ space can be extended either vertical or horizontally. For each apartment is idealized the “LoftBoxes” concept, where programmatic boxes (in plaster board) are fixed to the structure resulting in private spaces, working the remaining spaces as the shared area, all of them with direct light.

Academic project | Modos e Modelos do Habitar
Based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson (1886) we conceived only by model, what would be the ideal home to its character. The single-family dwelling shall be the mirror of its inhabitant, his self-portrait. The coexistence of two opposing personalities representing the well known - good and evil duality was the key topic that piqued our interest in the project. How is it possible to identify bipolarity and its transition through the living space? How is it possible two opposite personalities feel at home in the same building? If he changes his personality, suffering a transforming process, then
his home should
be also capable of it...
