Global Leader Scholarship(GLS) Program in Singapore We, 16 Yonghwa girls, awarded the scholarship for improving the global leardership capacity and doing research all by ourselves. As this project completed, we have grown a lot in cognitive as well as affective domains. We really appreciate all Yonghwains including the principal, teachers, students and parents who are willing to give us advice and praise. Also, we exchanged presents and opinions about globalism and multiculturalism at Dunman High School and Nan_Yang Girls’ High School students. Thank all of you for warm-hearted welcome and kindness you showed us in Singapore~! EDIT_ 2014 GLS Members

Memories of class 1-12 with Park Jin teacher (The Day of Field Trip) The first graders of class 12, known as delighted had gone to Changpyong for work-study program with Park Jin teacher. Other classes just went an amusement park or near art museum. But the classmates of our class, class 11 and class 13 planned to have a special good time at a villa to rent. It was a official day of wearing private clothes, so all of us dressed up with a loudly throbbing heart and we went 'Petit Prince' by bus. ʻPetit Princeʼ which is the concept for Petit France gives dream and hope not only to children but to grown-ups as well to give warm happiness and to bring back childlike innocence when people visit the place. Enjoy various fun events and cultural experiences of France hear I Petit France with your friends and family. We arrived there with great expectations, however the rain that had been falling since the morning didn't stop and we were disappointed. But, when we entered the ʻPetit Princeʼ, we were surprised with the mysterious an infant prince and congenial pretty doll through the world. We took a many pictures near yellow and red houses and left unforgettable memories. Through 'Petit Prince', finally we arrived at a villa with sunset. Firstly, we enjoyed our meal with rice and meat. After finishing our meal, we sang altogether at singing room with dance and played a treasure hunt. The friends who find the treasure got a award of biscuit and we ate it altogether. When we get some rest, our teacher appeared to bring of interesting game and we responded with cheers. The various game like bursting balloon, hide and seek was very successful. Some maladjusted friend also finally played altogether and we appreciated to our teacher. When we got the return bus, we felt the sorrow of parting. 2 YONGHWA INSIDE

On 24th, September, 2014, the sophomore class of Yonghwa girls high school made an excursion to each location. Originally they had plan to go to somewhere during two nights and three days. But unavoidable circumstances prevented second year students from going. So they went and returned one day. They had decided places for each class. 5 students determined place which is located in Gapyeong. They want to play with their classmates not short time such as watching movie but for a long time. The day, class 5 students who expected and were excited gathered school and left toward Ga-pyeong. Actually they had an intramural athletic meet the day before that day. Chosen by students, the place which is surrounded by mountains and valley was suitable to 2-5 students. After they arrived, they make some groups and started each games. some students sang songs with Karaoke machine and other students played card game with team. Soon lunch time is approached, class teacher prepared their meal and students gradually sat down in front of their meal. Their foods like sausages, rices, sweet potatoes, meats were given constantly. Then they who sit side by side started to eat. They can gather around together and have a friendly talk in mealtime. 2-5 students specially eat meat with money which consisted of student’s late-fee and teacher’s own money. So they could have special lunch time with their friends. After mealtime they started game again but this time they played all together. That time is the chance that they knew more each other and became intimate. Before they went back home, they throw a birthday party to celebrate their friends who have birthday in september so they sang birthday song and celebrated their friends. They took lots of pictures to remember this moment. The departure time was getting close. They missed that school trip was only one day. All the scheduled programs have been done and they had to be turned away. Only one day, but the trip gave them some unforgettable memories. EDIT_ Ye-jin Shin

Things for preparing the 'D-day' Korean SAT! Tell us your studying tips A1 : Korean Part- the similar types of questions have came out in this part, so I recommend the practicing each types of questions and you should read considerably the text! English Part -I want to emphasize the significancy of 'voca'. Most of the students think spending time memorizing the word waste. Actually it's not! Math- I solved sample questions from previous KSAT, but the most important thing is to know which way fits you well. Social Science or Science Parts- Don't cramming this part! Practice with 'EBS books’. You should distribute studying time efficiently. A2 : Korean- It's good to study Korean first in the morning because Korean is the first subject in Scholar Ability Test. In addition, understand general ideas through Internet lectures in EBS during winter vacation and solve problems everyday. Practice sufficiently with real questions from previous exams. I was very weak at grammar so I took e-learning and made a note of the wrong answers checking which part I was weak at. Math : It's important to understand concepts and to solve problems everyday. I solved problems of each types in which I was weak until the day before Scholar Ability Test. I solved Xistory constantly because quantity of questions is significant. Solve problems as the schedule which is written in the front of the book and check why you missed the questions. English : Don't miss solving questions of EBS series! You should solve them at least once before another EBS book is published and memorize vocabularies in the books. It may be helpful to solve transformed problems and to buy books not from EBS, for example 빈칸백서. Social Studies : You can study mainly with EBS series because test questions are all from the series. However, there are many good teachers in e-learning sites, for example Gee-young Lee. I recommend her curriculum to students who are willing to study 'social culture' or 'life and ethics'. Also, grasp concepts in winter vacation and practice everyday with EBS series not to forget the concepts. A3 : Korean- For grammar, I made a concept note. I used to read it. For literature, I made some marks. For example, triangle is negative one and circle is positive one. Beacuse the pharagraph is really long, I tried to make them easy to see. And I counted my test time because distributing time is really important for Korean. Math: I think concepts and applications are really important for Math. So, I made a concept note which contains formulas. I read it really a lot and tried to memorize all. English: I think paraphrasing is very important for English. I wrote key sentences or key words or highlighted them when I read the question. I tried to understand the meanings of paragraphs. Also, practicing listening is very important. If you do not practice, you will be nervous when you solve them.Social studies: I think you should study them during your vacation. If you delay studying them, you would study them in short time. That would be really annoying. You should memorize all terms and understand the meanings well. I studied untill I can find the way even when I first saw a question. Actually, I'm sure that you heard the ways of studying a lot. The most important thing is practicing. Find a way that fits you, and do that way. Most students know how to study. So, just do your ways.

4. You should consider Bio rhythm for KSAT and try to getting enough sleep! A2 : Sleeping: Never sleep in school especially in time when SAT is taken. I tried to sleep much but I slept 4~5 hours in a day. Sleeping is really a matter of decision. It's very important to concentrate when you are awake. Eating : I had eaten simple food because I thought eating will take time. I didn't eat much in the exam day because of tension so I recommend you to practice eating box lunch a month before Scholar Ability Test. Exercise : I didn't exercise often so I didn't have much strength. My friend played badminton but she dozed off in the evening self-studying time with tiredness. So don't exercise intentionally to increase strength! Just stretch for better digestion and sit straight for better position. A3 : I usually slept at 1:00a.m. and woke up at 6:00a.m. I tried to always staying awake in school. If I want to sleep desparately, I just had a nap for ten minutes. After having a nap, I studied really hard. I couldn't concentrate well in home so, I went to school on weekend. I also studied in school after school classes. What I thought during third of highschool life is that controlling my mind is really hard and important. When I became third, I was so nervous. Everytime I felt like that, I wrote a diary. Because writing a diary makes me feel comfortable and do selfreflection. You don't have to write them in pretty papers or notes. You don't have to write them everyday, it's not your homework. Just write down your feeling honestly. Then, you can relax your mind. I already felt those things. So, I recommend you this! The other thing that I want to tell you is your attitude. You need to enjoy doing things alone. Do not care your environments, do your study. None of your people can understand you as you do. I want you to resist well.

W hat do you want to do after 'scholar ability test' (수능)? A1 : I was planning to do diet! But it is not been going well! also I want to borrow many books which I've wanted to read and get a good & long sleep, meet my friends, and help my mother housework. and I will spend a lot of time with my family. I want to do volunteer activity because i'd like to do something meaningful when I'm young. A2 : I want to watch many movies which I wrote on my note while I studied. I will work part-time job and obtain as many certificates as possible before I go to university. Now, I am preparing for Korean History Exam, TOEIC, and driver license test. A3 : I wanted to talk chat with my friends regardless of time. I couldn't spend time with friends because of scholar ability test. And exercising is also my wishlist. I felt that my physical strength gonna be lower and lower. I felt I was gaining my weight also. That's why I wanted to exercise. I wanted to watch many movies and have some trips. I want to do some ordinary things like playing the guitar, reading books. Not really big just small but peaceful. That's what I want to do these days. Advice for Yonghwa students... You may think ‘Go Sam’ life is exhausting during ‘Go Sam’. But if you

H ow did you spend your daily life during ‘고3’, and give us advice A1 : 1. Be careful not to catch a cold! 2.Participate properly in school PE classes. 3.Stretch body betweenwhile when you study.

Falling accident on a Pangyo ventilation window -taking away many lives of people Collapsing ventilation window which stalled at the bottom at an outdoor stage of ‘Pangyo Techno Valley’, twenty seven people fell about twenty meters down. Sixteen of them were killed in this accident and eleven get injured. There was a performance of famous Girl group ‘4 minute’ for Pangyo Techo Valley’s residents at the time of the incident. So there was more than seven hundreds audiences. The deaths’ average age is between thirties and forties. There were many causes of ventilation window’s falling at the initiatory stage. First, there was no fences which prevent people from approaching in the vicinity of the ventilation window. So many people went up the ventilation window on their own authority and saw the performance. The weigh of

them was so heavy that the ventilation window was dipped below. Second, there was no warning broadcasting before the performance. Since the person in charge of the performance didn’t warn that people should not go up on the ventilation window, they didn’t know the fact that they should not thoughtlessly go up on the ventilation window. Another causes of this accident was poor construction. Many people said that this accident happened due to the ventilation window’s poor construction. As a result of investigation, an accurate cause of this accident was that the ventilation window’s support fixture welded poor. We have to make an effort not to happen this accident again. It is to examine the ventilation windows regularly. We have to carefully examine that there is any poor construction or abnormal of the ventilation windows. Also, we have to make the ventilation windows that people cannot available to go up. We make newly-built ventilation high and fence around existing ventilation windows. If we prevent arguing along these lines, it won’t happen this accident again. EDIT_ Ji-hye Lim

About time Movie Review 2 months ago, I saw this movies with my friends. I felt lots of things and I wanted to recommend to others. This movie deals with time and love. In everyday life, we don't recognize the importance of passage of the time. we think time flows naturally, and has irresistible force. It means that time gives sense of awe. The director of this movie, Richard Curtis who makes ʻlove actuallyʼ and ʻʻNotting Hillʼʼ pays close attention..to ʻAbout time.ʼ this movie is taken with London in the background. and treats trifle life. about Tim. Then let's see more detail. Getting into the summary,, Timʼs family has amazing ability, which time travel. When he becomes 21, he knew this ability applies to him too. This one generates when he clench his fists in the dark then he can go to the past where he was. One day, He goes London to achieve his goal. and there he met Marry. He fall in love with Marry at first sight, and use his ability to attract her. For his hard efforts, he marries Marry and have baby too. During his the happiest life, he knew two things. First, time can't be decided by people and Time is not permanent. He was able to go anywhere when he wants, but there was something unavoidable

After recognized, he becomes to use his time preciously. This movie has good lesson. This movie is not only Romance movie but giving truly lesson. This movie has no something special like interesting elements. but the most interesting point in this movie is empathy. Also, There is phrase ʻʻtoday is gift and that ,s why we call it present.ʼʼ I love this phrase the most. It means each time has important meaning and we have to enjoy it. This winter I wish many people watach this movie with their couple or family members and feel meaningful life lesson on their hearts. EDIT_ Ha-kyung Cho

Giant rubber duck to arrive in Seoul Rubber Duck is any of several giant floating sculptures designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. The creator of the giant rubber duck, Florentijn Hofman, tried to entertain the world by a tour named "Spreading joy around the world" established in 2007. He aimed to recall everyone's childhood memories by exhibiting the duck in 14 cities, starting in his own Amsterdam, Netherlands. The giant rubber duck was constructed with more than 200 pieces of PVC. There is an opening at the back of the body so that architecture staff can perform a body check of the rubber duck. In addition, there is an electric fan in its body so that it can be inflated at any time, in either good or bad weather. Since 2007, the ducks have been on display in Amsterdam, Baku, Lommel (Belgium), Osaka, Sydney Harbour, Sao Paulo and Hong Kong. It was on display in Pittsburgh as its first US destination, from 27 September 2013 through 20 October 2013. Over 1,000,000 people are reported to have visited the duck in Pittsburgh. Its second United States appearance will be in Norfolk, Virginia from 17-26 May 2014, floating in The Hague inlet in front of the Chrysler Museum of Art. In October 2014, The Lotte group of South Korea asked for the giant rubber

duck in order to celebrate the opening of the new Lotte World Mall, the country's largest shopping mall that also has a supertall skyscraper, Lotte World Tower, under construction. The tower is located between the Han River and Seokchon Lake where the giant rubber duck is placed. However, the duck deflated during the exhibition. EDIT_ Ye-seul Oh

What happened in 2014?

Ebola Syndrome

In 2014, a lot of tragic accidents happened. So many people died, and so many people were sad. What happened in 2014? First, there was the sinking of the 세월호. This ship was heading to Jeju island. 476 passengers was boarding including 324 high school students. About 300 people died and only 172 people survived. More people could had been rescued, but the captain didn’t helped passengers. When the ship turned over, he escaped alone and as far as to announce that they have to stay calm. He said like this because if people move to see what happened and try to escape, the ship will move and he cannot escape. In the ship, students helped each other to escape. One of the students died while helping his friend. After the time went by, the marine polices tried to save them, however it was too late. Already, they were found dead. The marine polices and the government was criticized by citizens for understanding the situation too late. And also, their handle of crisis was too late. Some of the students survived, but they are suffering from pain and nightmare, because they saw their friends and teachers dying like flies. This accident became the worst man-made disaster. Second, there was ventilation window accident. When girl group named 4-minute was singing their hit song, 16 people went up to ventilation window to see more clearly. However, all of a sudden, the cover of it fell down, and together, people went down, too. It was really absurd accident. Many people are suffering from safety frigidity. There’s no one to be blamed. It is neither people’s fault nor partaker’s fault. Public institutions have to keep safety managements and a person must think safety of the first priority. If one believes that the government will share the responsibility with him, that is not a good idea. If we donʼt keep owner spirit in our mind, the accident will continuously happen and people will be disheartened by loosing their family members, again. It’s time to consider our own safeties. No one will care about ‘our’ safety. If we don’t have the spirit of owner of our body, the accidents will happen again and again. EDIT_ Do-hee Yoo

Incheon Asian game From September 19th to October 4th 2014, The Asian game was held in Incheon, South Korea. It was really a good chance for Asian countries to promote friendship and compete in sport. The principle of Asian game is to show variety of Asian cultures in one place, to orient peace and harmony among Asian countries through, and to build future for Asia. Korea ranked the 2nd, with 79 gold medals and 71 silvers, and 84 bronzes. The Incheon Asian game started with a fascinating opening ceremony. Many Korean artists and celebrities starred in the ceremony, such as Michael Lee, Cho Soo Mee, and Psy. The unique point of this ceremony was that player teams of each country entered in following the order of the Korean characters, not Alphabets. The torch was set fire by actress Lee Young Ae. The Asian game had 36 events. The most popular events were swimming soccer and swimming. In soccer, South Korea won the gold medal and North Korea won silver, and Iraq won the bronze medal. In swimming, Chinese players scored high. There were many other events like hand-ball, basketball, weight lifting, and badminton. There were even some exotic events like beach volleyball and yacht. The games were fairly well run, without controversial judgment. However, there were some mistakes. The torch was supposed to be burning all over the game, but it was set off for about 10 minutes in the middle of the game. Also, there was an occasion in which the light was turned off in the badminton stadium and the players could not play the game. Overall, Incheon Asian game played a big role in building friendship among Asian countries and as an exciting sports game. EDIT_ Eun-byul Choi

5420. Do you know what this number means? It is the number of people who died from Ebola Virus. It was occurred in Guinea, and is being spread all around the world. There are infectees in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Nigeria, and even in the United States. The more people died from Ebola, the more anxious people would be. The cause of Ebola is the virus from a bat. It is presumed that it was started nearby the Ebola river. When a bat was infected from Ebola, human ate that, and then viru was started. Ebola is named after the place where it was discovered, and there are 4 types of Ebola; Zaire, Sudan, Coted’ lovire, and Reston. Ebola virus medicine is devided Bio drugs, and Synthetic drugs. Vol.10 December 2014

Do parallel universes really exist? Are you unique? In your perception of the world, the answer is simple: you are different than every other person on this planet. But is our universe unique? The concept of multiple realities — or parallel universes — complicates this answer and challenges what we know about the world and ourselves. One model of potential multiple universes called the Many-Worlds Theory might sound so bizarre and unrealistic that it should be in science fiction movies and not in real life. However, there is no experiment that can irrefutably discredit its validity. In 1954, a young Princeton University doctoral candidate named Hugh Everett III came up with

a radical idea: That there exist parallel universes, exactly like our universe. These universes are all related to ours; indeed, they branch off from ours, and our universe is branched off of others. Within these parallel universes, our wars have had different outcomes than the ones we know. Species that are extinct in our universe have evolved and adapted in others. In other universes, we humans may have become extinct. This thought boggles the mind and yet, it is still comprehensible. Notions of parallel universes or dimensions that resemble our own have appeared in works of science fiction and have been used as explanations for metaphysics.

The most troubling implication of parallel universes is that your perception of the world is never real. Our “reality” at an exact moment in one parallel universe will be completely unlike that of another world; it is only a tiny figment of an infinite and absolute truth. You might believe you are reading this article at this instance, but there are many copies of you that are not reading. In fact, you are even the author of this article in some distant reality. Thus, do winning prizes and making decisions matter if we might lose those awards and make different choices? Is living important if we might actually be dead somewhere else? In any case, the peculiar Many-World’s Theory and its startling implications challenges everything we know about the world. EDIT_ Tae-eun Kim

Science Cube Have you ever seen a strange looking cube which stands with its edge on the slope making strange sounds? then, don’t surprise with it! It is called ‘Cubli’. and is a 15 × 15 × 15 cm cube that can jump up and balance on its corner. This latest version of the Cubli can jump up, balance and even “walk”. This new version is self contained with respect to power and uses three slightly modified bicycle brakes instead of the metal barriers used in the previous version. There are multiple ways to keep the cube in its balance, but jumping up requires sudden release of energy. Intuitive momentum wheels seems to be a good idea to store enough energy while still keeping the cube compact and self-contained.

Furthermore, the same momentum wheels can be used to implement a reaction-torque based control algorithm for balancing by exploiting the reaction torques on the cube body when the wheels are accelerated or decelerated. Given the required velocities and torques determined above, It was clear that the momentum wheel’s motor and gearbox would be a major challenge for creating the robot. Using the mathematical model allowed to systematically tackle this problem by allowing a quantitative analysis of the trade-offs between higher velocities (i.e., more energy for jump-up) and higher torques (i.e. better stability when balancing). This mathematics-driven hardware design result-

ed in detailed specs for the robot’s core hardware components (momentum wheels, motors, gears, and batteries) and allowed a CAD design of the entire system.. Part of this step was the design of a special brake to suddenly stop a momentum wheel to transfer its energy to the entire cube and cause it to jump up. In short, reaction wheels mounted on three faces of the cube rotate at high angular velocities and then brake suddenly, causing the Cubli to jump up. Once the Cubli has almost reached the corner stand up position, controlled motor torques are applied to make it balance on its corner. In addition to balancing, the motor torques can also be used to achieve a controlled fall such that the Cubli can be commanded to fall in any arbitrary direction. Combining these three abilities -- jumping up, balancing, and controlled falling -- the Cubli is able to ʻwalkʼ. EDIT_ You-jin Hwang

The beautiful phenomenon, Aurora Skywatchers on the ground are already catching sight of some amazing looking auroras produced by solar material blown out from the sun during two major eruptions this week. Even astronauts on the International Space Station are keeping watch for new auroras. Early today, NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman on the station posted a photo on Twitter of a shimmering green aurora as seen from his post on the orbiting lab. He also recorded a short Vine video of himself as he opened a protective window cover on the station's Cupola observation station. "Beautiful aurora are coming back. A welcome return indeed!"

The active sunspot called AR2158 shot off a M4.6 moderate solar flare on Monday, with a very powerful X1.6-class flare following close behind on Wednesday. Both flares had associated coronal mass ejections — hot bursts of plasma sometimes sent out into the solar system by the sun during a solar flare — that are now potentially producing the auroras on Earth. The double CME could supercharge the auroras, according to space weather experts. The solar storm may make for amazing aurora shows on Earth for people as far south as the northern United States, weather permitting.

Annual BIG School Event, YongHwa Athletic Day : The hidden side of athletic day

Since 2013, Yonghwa girl's high school has held "Yonghwa Athletic Day". This year, official school trip was cancelled, so this Yonghwa Athletic Day was more special for students.(Instead of an official school trip, there was class trip, which was allowed only for 5 hours though.) This athletic day held on September 23rd, Tuesday. There were several popular events for each grade : dodge ball for sophomore(2nd grade), and human bridge game(=놋다리밟기) for freshmen(1st grade). Besides, the arm wrestling was a big match as well. No matter what these events were very exciting, there is no event which is popular than the relay race among the students. Especially, all of the students were extremely excited at "teacher's relay race" and "student council's special race". During student council's event, some snacks were provided to exhausted students. Not only athletic, but also other small funs made students happy. They played games with classmates, cheered up other participants, ate ice cream at cafeteria, and took photos with teachers. In this day, all of the students and

teachers worked together without any 'wall' between student and teacher. For the students, Yonghwa Athletic Day is one of the biggest annual school events that refreshes students from diverse stress : studying, friends, and so on. HOWEVER, Is this "Athletic Day" always positive? I'm sorry to say, but I have to say "NO". Athletic day, especially Yonghwa athletic day always make us feel a sense of loss and lack of something. Why? What do you think about this happen? The answer is clear : There are three big "Problems" of our athletic day. Now I'll explain about these in detail with some example. 1. Low diversity The repertory of the sport events are so simple. It means there is no diversity of events. All of the students were looking forward to this year's sport events, but the events were EXACTLY same as last year : tug-of-war, dodge ball, human bridge game, arm wrestling, and relay race. This make students boring and easily get tired. I think this must be modified first.

white team. I think this is a minimum effort for making athletic day more exciting. However, there was not any creative contents at our athletic day. The students want novel events and novel system of games. Yonghwa's slogan is "Creative Yonghwa". But why there is not any creative sources? 3. Inappropriate season I have a question about it. Athletic day was scheduled at September 23rd, and the midterm exam was at October 6th. Then, when should we prepare for midterm exam? I think not only athletic day but many other occasions also tend to be scheduled near the exams. Students want just a small consideration of school, but it does not practice well. These were the most important problems students want to pose a question or raise objections. As "Athletic Day" is the day which all of the students are looking forward to, the school's consideration is absolutely necessary. Thus, school should listen student's voice carefully. This is the first step of communication between the school and students.

2. Lack of creative contents Do you remember the fall field day at our elementary school? There was team system : the blue team versus the

A movie with good story makes people feel touched as well as satisfied. If there are some good music in movie, people are more affected. Begin Again, a Romance/ Drama movie which was released on August 13th, 2014 in Korea, is a perfect example of this. This movie has been among the most popular since it has been screened in August. There is even some cinemas which show the movie now, December. Which elements make it popular steadily?

ʻDanny, the Champion of the Worldʼ is a short story for children by Roald Dahl. Since the title mentioned the word 'champion', I believed that this story would be about a competition that eventually create a champion at the end. However, this turned out to be a wrong guess as I slowly reached out to the end of the novel. The main character, Danny, was only four months old when his mother died so he lives with his widowed father. When he is nine years old, he discovers that his father, William, has habitually taken part in poaching pheasants from the landowner's estate. However, William gets hurt by falling into a pit-trap during his plan to catch the pheasants. While he is recovering, William and Danny decide to humiliate the landowner by capturing all the pheasants from the forest, so there will be no pheasants to shoot. Danny suggests that he and William should put the contents of sleeping pills inside raisins which the pheasants will then eat. The method succeeded, so they leave them at the vicar's house. The next day... Read to find out what comes next! Although 'Danny, the Champion of the World' is a fictional story, it is based on the writer's first-hand experience. Danny's home is a ʻʻreal old gypsy wagon with big wheels and fine patterns painted all over it in yellow and red and blue.ʼʼ The wagon described is almost identical to the one Roald Dahl kept at the bottom of his own garden in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. He bought the wagon for his children to play in, and spent a considerable amount of his own time in it. As in many of Dahl’s other books, humor plays a huge role in his style. This humor is present in his descriptions and dialogues. Even the storyline itself is humorous, with pheasants raining down out of the trees after Danny gives them sleeping potion.. Dahl’s use of humor throughout the story helps to keep the reader interested and wondering what will happen next. Through this book, Dahl seems to be saying that single fathers can raise children just as well as two parent families. Danny’s father did all of the things that a mother would normally do, plus all of the fatherly tasks as well. In other words, I would like to recommend this book to young children who like adventurous stories. Since it is not very long, it would be easy material to read for the children.

The secret is OST(Original Sound Track). Actually, the story of Begin Again is not that special or novel. Nevertheless, the reason why it has continued long box office is emotional melody it contains. All songs gets along with the background of the movie, New York. In addition, the actors have great singing ability. Keira Knightley who acts as the main character Gretta showed off her hidden singing talent. As the vocal of the worldwide band Maroon5, Adam Levine who acts as Dave also showed nice voice and gave a sweet song. Lost Stars, one of the OST , which he sang in the movie has solidified first place in almost all pop music charts. The popularity of Begin Again reminds us of the success of Once. Once is the movie which was released in 2006. It was also a movie about music and its OST Falling Slowly has gained in popularity constantly. Actually the director of these two movies is same. What we have to learn from these movies is the importance of the music in movie. What music gives to us is not just simple joy. When it is in harmony with the situation in the movie and the mind of us, it gives the audiences great impression that can not be expressed by word.

ʻʻThatʼs what I love about music. All these banalities suddenly turn into beautiful pearls.ʼʼ -Begin Again EDIT_ Chae-Hee Hwang
