Quinzaine du Don 2009 What is the donation fortnight? Started in 1945 with the creation of a fundraising system, the ‘Donation Fortnight’ is an annual event of a primordial importance for the Luxembourg Red Cross. Today’s main annual private fundraising comes from the door-to-door actions (the traditional Red Cross fundraising), or thanks to the specific events organized for this occasion. The ‘Donation Fortnight’ offers the Luxembourg Red Cross the opportunity to continue its activities and develop its health, social, youth and humanitarian services. To wire money, please send to the following bank account: CCPL IBAN LU52 1111 0000 1111 0000 Donation online or other ways : www.croix-rouge.lu

The Red Cross collectors will visit you! th

th

From the 16 of March to the 5 of April, one of the 2000 volunteer collectors will pay you a visit at home or at your office, or association, to collect donations to fund the Red Cross activities. The ‘Donation Fortnight’ project would not be possible without the continuous commitment of the 38 local sections members and the volunteers from across the country. Thanks to them and to you for your donation, the Luxembourg Red Cross can give a daily helping hand to those who suffer, without discrimination. The collectors also fulfill an essential role of informing the visited people about the Red Cross activities, by answering their questions, and sharing some time. The commitment of each collector is an essential link in the chain of solidarity for those most vulnerable. Your act of kindness is essential in the continuation and development of our activities towards the most vulnerable, in Luxembourg and abroad, in the fields of health, social, youth and humanitarian. In case you are out during the collector’s visit, you can make a donation using the form dropped off by one of our collectors in your mailbox. Please make a wire transfer to CCPL IBAN LU52 1111 0000 1111 0000 or by visiting the www.croix-rouge.lu site (the ‘call for donations’ menu). For your information: donations to the Luxembourg Red Cross are tax deductible for a total annual amount greater than or equal to 120 Euros and less than 20% of your total net income.

A guarantee in terms of Independence, efficiency and innovation Donations collected during the ‘Donation Fortnight’ project are allocated as and where needed. The donations which are not marked for a specific project are a guarentee of our independence and enables us to innovate our activities. Finally, they make it possible to launch new projects in response to the changing needs of society.
