Group Exchange: 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial Curated by Cecilia Heffer Group Exchange: 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial follows a rich cultural heritage of textile practice and excellence in Australia, dating back to 1975. This highlights the current practice from artists around Australia who continue this history of dynamic development and the ever increasing rate of change in the discipline. It presents the vibrancy of contemporary Australian textiles, exploring the forces that drive our most innovative and accomplished practitioners.

Artist-in-Residence: connect with your nature Craft ACT Accredited Professional Member Ruth Hingston and Jodie Hatcher (UK) Our 2015 artists-in-residence present new works responding to the theme connect with your nature. This exhibition showcases the end results from their residencies. Crucible Showcase: Alchemy Alchemy is a collection of work by Tara Bromham and Emilie Patteson promoting connectedness with surrounding environments. Alchemy simultaneously celebrates the beauty of the ordinary and transforms everyday artefacts into artworks of extraordinary delicacy and beauty. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………… REMEMBER WHEN............. CANBERRA REGION FELTMAKERS 29 April – 22 May 2016, Outdoor Gallery Canberra Region Feltmakers collaborated with Gabriella Hegyes to design and create a significant sculptural installation to celebrate Canberra’s Centenary. The project involved individual members making felt pieces to represent their memories and meanings of Canberra. Five teams were formed, one for each pole, with each working to a pre-determined colour scheme. Pieces of felt were matched and stitched to form long tubes which became columns when suspended from poles. Details include, Bogong moths, roundabouts, Floriade, poppies, fish, frogs on lily pads and snakes. The exhibition opening will be at 5.30pm on 29 April by the ACT Minister for Small Business and the Arts, Dr Chris Bourke, MLA.. Information about the Exhibition is now on the Belconnen Arts Centre web-site: http://www.belconnenartscentre.com.au/exhibitions/rememberwhen.html.
