7x7 Prayer Booklet by Crossgates Baptist Church

Today we stand at a crossroads—as individuals, as families, as a community, as a church, and as a nation. There is a great spiritual battle raging for the heart and the soul of our nation. God’s passionate desire is for America and her people to repent and return to Him so that He might pour out His blessings on her without measure. For that to take place, we must enter the battle in prayer. The victory will not come through our elected officials or economic recovery, but if God’s people get serious and start praying, perhaps God will once again shower this nation with His grace. It must begin with a commitment to pray until the answer comes. Revival is restoration, rejuvenation, and renewal of the body of Christ—the Church. It is the result of brokenness and repentance. If the fuel of repentance is placed on the altar, perhaps God will send the fire of revival to His Church. If this happens, the heat from that blaze will ignite a great awakening that will consume this land. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to fall once again on the Church. He is the person whose power raised Jesus from the dead. We need a resurrecting revival that will empower us and motivate us to do what is necessary to restore our nation’s moral foundation. The recipe has not changed since God spoke to King Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14. If we (the Church) will obey God, He will keep His promises.

If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. This prayer guide is designed to assist you in praying for this revival and restoration. Beginning Sunday, September 12, and ending on Saturday, October 30, the body of Christ at Crossgates will enter a time of prayer seven days a week for seven weeks in anticipation of the fulfillment of 2 Chronicles 7:14— 7 x 7 for 7:14. This is a starting place. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you pray for the fires of revival to ignite.

SUNDAY A Day to Pray for Personal Revival September 12: Confession and Repentance If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 • Confess all known sin • Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any unconfessed sin • Ask God to release His Spirit through you so that you might lift up Jesus today September 19: A Desire for Intimate Relationship Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6 • Ask the Father to give you a deep hunger to know Him more intimately • Ask the Father to reveal Himself to you throughout this day • Ask the Father to help you put your relationship with Him ahead of all things September 26: A Love for God’s Word Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words became a delight to me and the joy of my heart, for I am called by your name, Lord God of Hosts. Jeremiah 15:16

SUNDAY A Day to Pray for Personal Revival

September 26 continued • Ask the Father to give you a deep thirst for His Word • Ask the Father to reveal Himself to you as you read His Word • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize areas of your life that must be surrendered to Him

October 17: A Burden for the Lost The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Luke 10:2 • Ask the Father to give you His heart for the lost • Commit to pray for one lost person each day • Ask the Father to lead you to lost people with whom you might share Christ’s love October 24: Total Surrender The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news! Mark 1:15 • Fully surrender every area of your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ • Fully surrender any habit or thought pattern that could tempt you to sin • Ask the Father to help you be an example of holiness to others

October 3: A Renewed Heart Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 • Ask the Father to fill you with a deep desire for holiness • Ask the Father to give you a hate for the sin in your life • Surrender every area of sin in thought or practice October 10: Restored Relationships I give you a new commandment: that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should also love one another. John 13:34 • Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any broken or strained relationships in your life • Confess your offenses and forgive those who have offended you • Ask the Father for the opportunity and ability to mend those relationships

MONDAY A Day to Pray for Church Revival

September 13: Awaken Crossgates Baptist Church Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Lord God says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will live. Ezekiel 37:4-5

September 27 continued • Ask the Father to purify and pour out the Holy Spirit on His Church • Ask the Father to fill every pastor and church member with the Holy Spirit • Ask the Father to demolish the barriers that separate His people in this area

• Ask the Father to pour out His Spirit on Crossgates • Ask the Father to break down all barriers to revival at Crossgates • Ask the Father to fully purify Crossgates in every area September 20: Revive Crossgates Baptist Church O Lord God of hosts, restore us; cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. Psalm 80:19 • Ask the Father to fill this church family with His Spirit • Ask the Father to raise up and release laborers for ministry • Pray for a church family that will walk in unity, joy, and peace September 27: Revive the Churches of the Jackson Metro Area So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase. Acts 9:31

October 4: Revive the Churches of Mississippi O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years, make it known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2 • Cry out for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the churches of our state • Ask God to remove and demolish the barriers to revival in our state • Bind the enemy’s schemes and strategies that prevent unity and fellowship October 11: Revive the Churches of our Nation Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me through Your righteousness. Psalm 119:40 • Pray for a return to biblical preaching in the nation’s churches • Cry out for repentance to saturate the churches of our nation • Ask the Father to raise up spiritual leadership who will call for reformation

MONDAY A Day to Pray for Church Revival October 18: Renew the Churches of our Nation I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17 • Ask the Father to break the hearts of believers who have sin in their lives • Cry out for the Holy Spirit to come in power and great conviction • Pray for the pastors of this nation to be filled with a sense of God’s holiness October 25: Revive and Restore Struggling Christian Friends Dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be of good health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 • Ask the Father to fill your heart with a love for your friends • Ask God to show you tangible ways you can show your love for these friends • Ask the Father to restore their faith, joy, and peace in Jesus Christ

TUESDAY A Day to Pray for Revival in Church Leadership September 14: Pray for Your Pastor Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6:19 • Ask the Father to draw our pastor into a deeper walk each day • Ask the Father to fill our pastor with the Holy Spirit each day • Ask the Father to help our pastor maintain the right spiritual priorities September 21: Pray for Your Pastor Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should. Ephesians 6:20 • Ask the Father to show our pastor anything that hinders his walk with God • Ask the Father to remind our pastor of His great love for him • Pray for the protection of our pastor and his family September 28: Pray for Your Staff Now may the God of endurance and encouragement grant you agreement with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with united mind and voice. Romans 15:5-6

TUESDAY A Day to Pray for Revival in Church Leadership

September 28 continued • Ask the Father to draw each staff member closer to Himself • Ask the Father to remind each staff member of His great love for them • Ask the Father to fill each staff member with a deeper thirst for Him October 5: Pray for Your Deacons For those who have served as deacons acquire a good standing for themselves, and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 3:13 • Ask the Father to draw each deacon closer to Himself • Ask the Father to remind each deacon of His great love for them • Ask the Father to fill each deacon with a deeper thirst for Him

October 19: Pray for Your Ministry Teams A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial. 1 Corinthians 12:7 • Ask the Father to fill each team member with the Holy Spirit • Ask the Father to reveal His great love to each team member • Ask the Father to release His deep love through each team member

October 12: Pray for Your Ministry Leaders Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 • Ask the Father to give each leader His vision for their ministries in the church • Ask the Father to draw each ministry leader closer to Himself • Ask the Father to fill each ministry leader with a deeper thirst for Him

October 26: Pray for Your Administrative and Support Staff For we are God’s fellow workers... 1 Corinthians 3:9 • Ask the Father to fill each one with His Holy Spirit • Ask the Father to reveal His great love to each one • Ask the Father to grant wisdom to each one as they fulfill their ministries

WEDNESDAY A Day to Pray for National Revival September 15: Pray for a National Conviction of Sin If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin. John 15:22 • Ask the Father to pour out His Spirit over the entire nation • Ask the Father to convince and convict every person of their sin • Ask the Father to convince every person of the reality of God’s final judgment September 22: Pray for a National Confession of Sin If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 • Ask the Father to reveal His holiness to every person • Ask the Father to bring a brokenness for sin to every person • Pray for people to realize their sinfulness and confess it fully to God September 29: Pray for a National Repentance from Sin Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4

WEDNESDAY A Day to Pray for National Revival September 29 continued • Ask the Father to bring a national breaking and national repentance for sin • Pray for the works of repentance to be released and recognized • Pray for the full restoration of what sin has destroyed in the lives of our people October 6: Pray for a National Outpouring of Conversion Come everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Isaiah 55:1 • Ask God to convince the lost that Jesus is the only way to salvation • Ask God to create divine opportunities for lost people to hear the gospel • Ask the Father to give you an opportunity to share your faith with a lost person October 13: Pray for a National Filling of the Spirit The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children… Romans 8:16 • Ask the Father to pour out His Spirit without measure on this nation • Ask the Father to give the people of this nation a hunger for Him • Ask the Father to release an infilling of the churches of this nation

WEDNESDAY A Day to Pray for National Revival

October 20: Pray for a National Thirst for God As a deer pants for streams of water, so I long for you. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2 • Ask the Father to show this nation its need for Him • Ask the Father to reveal the emptiness of false beliefs and false religious systems • Ask the Father to show the people their desperate need for a relationship with Him October 27: Pray for a National Renewal of the Search for God And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 • Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the emptiness of life without Jesus Christ • Ask the Father to burden the church with the hopeless condition of the lost • Ask the Father to open the eyes and ears of the lost so that they might be saved

THURSDAY A Day to Pray for National Renewal September 16: Pray for a National Embrace of Biblical Values Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105 • Ask God to raise up leaders who will promote biblical values • Ask God to put a thirst in the nation’s youth for biblical values • Pray for parents to make godly choices for themselves and their families September 23: Pray for a National Rejection of Immorality So if anyone purifies himself from these things, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21 • Ask God to reveal the destructive nature of immorality and pornography • Ask God to convict those who produce and promote pornography • Ask God to set Christian men and women free from the bondage of immorality September 30: Pray for the Strengthening of the Biblical Family Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God has given you. Deuteronomy 5:16

THURSDAY A Day to Pray for National Renewal

September 30 continued • Cry out for the church to minister to families’ needs • Ask God to turn the parents to the children and the children to the parents • Ask God to raise up a new generation of leaders who will champion family values

October 21: Pray for a National Embrace of the Sanctity of Human Life Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, O hold them back. Proverbs 24:11

October 7: Pray for the Peaceful Resolution of Community Problems How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity. Psalm 133:1

• Ask Father God to end the destructive practice of abortion-on-demand • Pray for public officials who will protect every member of our society • Pray that the church will step up and minister to those who are in need

• Ask God to give community leaders the wisdom to resolve conflict • Ask God to burden churches to become involved in their communities • Ask God to send the peace of Jesus Christ on this nation’s communities October 14: Pray for a Return to Civic Morality So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12 • Pray for community leaders who will insist on high standards of public morality • Ask God to restore a mindset of modesty in dress, speech, and lifestyle • Pray for media producers to promote the public good with moral media

October 28: Pray for a National Return to God’s Design for Marriage Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24 • Ask God to raise up leaders who will protect biblical marriage • Pray for Christian marriages to model the union of Christ and the Church • Pray for churches to minister to those struggling with their marriages

FRIDAY A Day to Pray for Wisdom for Public Officials

September 17: Pray for Exemplary Lives Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverbs 14:34

October 8: Pray for Good Decisions For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 • Ask God to grant our leaders wisdom to make good decisions • Ask God to expose ungodly influences affecting public officials • Pray for our public officials to understand the importance of biblical values

• Ask God to convict public officials of the need to be above reproach • Ask God to raise up godly men and women to seek public office • Ask God to purge government of wickedness, greed, and disgrace September 24: Pray for Righteousness In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. Proverbs 12:28 • Cry out for righteous judges and a cleansing of our judicial system • Cry out for justice for those who have no voice • Pray for righteous people who will seek public office with a servant’s heart October 1: Pray for Holiness But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior. 1 Peter 1:15 • Cry out for public officials who seek to live and serve in holiness • Pray for public officials who understand holiness and God’s expectations • Ask the Father to raise up a holy generation of statesmen/women

October 15: Protection from Spiritual Attack For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. Ephesians 6:12 • Ask God to prevent Satan from blinding the judgment of our public officials • Ask God to protect officials from the attacks of Satan • Ask God to show officials the spiritual impact of the decisions they make

October 22: Pray for Cooperation Among Leaders for the Common Good See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. 1 Thessalonians 5:15 • Ask God to give leaders the desire to use their offices only for the public good • Ask God to expose public officials who are breaking the law • Pray for a realization in our public officials that they are accountable to God

September 18: Pray for Discernment of Candidates The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

October 29: Pray for God to Burden Christians to Run for Public Office It is by Me that kings reign and rulers enact just law; by Me princes lead, as do nobles and all righteous judges. Proverbs 8:15-16 • Pray for the church to understand the imperative of civic involvement • Pray that Christians running for public office would find favor among voters • Pray for churches to equip men and women for the demands of public office

• Ask God to give you insight on choosing the best candidate • Ask God to reveal the true character of people running for office • Ask God to cause the candidates to speak clearly on the issues September 25: Pray for God to Raise up Candidates If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this. Esther 4:4 • Ask God to discourage ungodly people from running for office • Ask God to provide the resources godly candidates need to win elections • Ask God to raise up His people to help godly candidates get elected October 2: Pray for the Candidates to Speak Clearly about Convictions The one who loves a pure heart and gracious lips—the king is his friend. Proverbs 22:11

SATURDAY A Day to Pray for Wisdom to Elect the Best Officials October 2 continued • Ask God to help people understand what candidates really intend to do if elected • Ask God to give you insight to discern the most trustworthy candidates • Pray for fair media coverage to candidates who hold biblical values and positions October 9: Pray for the Nation What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 1 Timothy 2:2 • Ask the Father to send a strong convicting presence of His Spirit to this nation • Ask God to raise up leaders who will advance and support biblical policies • Ask God to expose those who are working to undermine biblical policies/laws October 16: Pray for the Nation A wise heart instructs its mouth and increases learning with its speech. Proverbs 16:23 • Ask the Father to convict Christians of the need to be involved in our nation’s life • Ask the Father to confound the enemies of the United States • Ask God to show you who He wants you to vote for in the coming election

SATURDAY A Day to Pray for Wisdom to Elect the Best Officials October 23: Pray for God’s People to Vote Do not take revenge or bear a grudge against members of your community, but love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:18 • Ask the Father to prevent anything that would hinder you from voting • Ask the Father to convict Christians of their spiritual responsibility to vote • Pray for Christians to vote for biblical values rather than political parties October 30: Pray for God’s People to Vote If you really carry out the royal law prescribed in Scripture, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. James 2:8 • Pray for Christians to vote for biblical values rather than for personal benefit • Pray for the insight into God’s will for this country as you prepare to vote • Cry out for God to shake this nation with revival and awakening now
