Day 1 Southampton

Day 14 New Port, Rhode Island

Make your way to Southampton to embark your ship, Sapphire Princess, to begin your 24 night sailing.

Newport, Rhode Island, has a long and complex history. Unlike certain areas, it was a place for religious freedom, with Quakers and Jews whose meeting house and synagogue are among the historic buildings today. Newport was one of the five largest ports in Colonial America and was a major exporter, as well as part of the infamous slave trade, by the 1760s.

Day 6 St. John’s, Newfoundland En route from New England to Canada, this historic port, St John’s is the capital of Newfoundland and the oldest city in Canada. Its long heritage is reflected in some well-preserved historic buildings, dating back to the 16th century.

Day 8 Sydney, Nova Scotia First founded by Britain in 1785, Canada’s Sydney has a rich Gaelic ancestry and a colonial old town reminiscent of times past. Spend time enjoying the picturesque waterfront and surrounding landscape, or wander through its historic buildings, admiring the pride that locals clearly take in their ancestry.

Day 9 Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Travel back through time to Canada’s birthplace, Charlottetown. This destination is bursting with culture, traditions and colour whatever the season. This picturesque port is capital of Prince Edward Island, inspiration for the Anne of Green Gables novels and the smallest and greenest province of Canada.

Day 12 New York City (Manhattan/ Brooklyn) If it’s your first time visiting the Big Apple, embrace being a typical sight-seer. The Empire State Building, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty attract millions of people yearly because they’re truly wonderful to behold. If you’re not an NYC newbie, explore its diverse neighbourhoods and find your way to one of the city’s endless bars or delis.

Day 15 Boston, Massachusetts All who enter Boston should at least once walk the Freedom Trail: a 2.5 mile-long path touring visitors to 16 historic locations. Home to the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins, it quickly becomes apparent that sport is the heart and soul of local life.

Day 16 Rockland, Maine The rough-around-the-edges Harbour on Penobscot Bay lacks the polish of the archetypal seaside Maine village of your imagination. But, take a brisk walk through it’s Main Street and the place will win you over.

Day 17 Saint John, New Brunswick (For the bay of Fundy) Saint John, Canada’s oldest settlement is the pathway to the picturesque wonders of New Brunswick. One of Canada’s oldest provinces, New Brunswick remains unspoiled with 85 percent of the province remaining unsettled. New Brunswick boasts beautiful streams, scenic hills, forests and a spectacular coastline. Nature also blessed the area with one of her most astonishing phenomena: the reversing River Rapids.

Day 18 Halifax, Nova Scotia The largest city in Canada’s Atlantic Provinces and capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax was once Great Britain’s major military bastion in North America. The iconic and stunningly restored waterfront buildings of Halifax’s Historic Properties recall the city’s centuries-old maritime heritage.

Spread over no less then fourteen islands and surrounded by literally thousands of smaller, rocky islets, it combines the drama and open skies of Scandinavia with the verve, dynamism and urban cool of Western Europe

Hip, energetic Berlin has grabbed the world’s attention with its exuberant urban life and vibrant arts scene. Gone are the days of drab Cold War Germany and a city divided by the Wall.
