No Lines. No Crowds. NOT Boring. UnCruise.com

Dear UnCruise Family,

My long term business partner, colleague, and friend of many years, Mr. Tim Jacox also deserves a shout out. Tim has been instrumental to the success of UnCruise in so many ways. He retired in May 2020 and he will surely be missed. Luckily his expertise is still a presence as he has now joined our board of advisors. Tim, like so many, will always be a part of the UnCruise family.

Looking forward, we will stay committed to our message, our core values and our company culture that make us who we are. A company that supports our communities, our planet and each other. Our focus on UnTourism and remote adventures leads the way.

We have embraced small boat, small group, small footprint leadership since starting in 1996. In 2021 we celebrate our 25th anniversary bringing us into a new era. I can't help but be excited about the growth and possibilities in a reimagined world of remote adventure travel and celebrating 25 years of creating adventure. With that, we look forward to more growth in our operations, we have rechristened one of our beloved boats with a new name, have refurbished three of our vessels this season, and have partnered with new industry names from IRONMAN Juneau to REI CO-Op. We will have more digital tools and conveniences for our guests online and our training and safety protocols are top priority as we navigate the new travel landscape.

The next generation of UnCruise Adventures is being forged. One that will lead in small boat adventures. I look forward to seeing you on board and connecting again with a renewed focus on a sustainable travel industry.

Thank you for being with us through so much in the past two years. I know the evolution of travel will continue to come out for the better, leading operators and destinations to be more nimble and diversified in their approach.

Adventure

You hold the ultimate backstage pass. Scenic bays and culturally immersive excursions offer windows into worlds most travelers don’t ever see. These are the special, out-of-the-way places that only a few know about.

Meet your people. Small boats acquaint you with like-minded travelers and places that tug at your heartstrings. Bonds are hard to define but easy to spot sharing tears at the end—from co-explorers and crew members to friends for life.

Form authentic bonds as a Tlingit tribal member lets you in on the story told on an Alaskan totem, or a Hawaiian elder shares the mana of aloha. Genuine experiences take hold of your senses, asking you to linger and remember people and places long after you’ve said farewell.

Connection

Place

Bushwhack in Alaska. Hike like mountain goats along the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Kayak through mist in the Salish Sea. Monkey around in lively, lush Costa Rican jungles. Snorkel among turtles, penguins, and a rainbow of fish in Hawaii, Baja, Belize, the Galápagos, or Panamá. Hard-charging or slowpaced, place your adventure order—it’s time to explore and go wild.

O ur name and our passion. Uncovering playgrounds that offer rich experiences by hike, paddle, and with locals. It’s all included, and there’s something for everyone.

M ore than locations. They’re corners and coves to get a little lost in. So small against a big land. So deep in another culture. We really do mean wild, too: a private beach on a deserted island, a thick, old-growth forest where the only trails are from wildlife, a mule ride with local rancheros through a Baja oasis. Places so tucked away our small boats fit in just right. “Ports of call” that are unusual and uncrowded.

CommitmentOur

Our mission: To provide enriching adventure travel experiences that inspire an appreciation of local cultures and the natural world.

Small is big these days, but being small is who we are. And in 2021, we celebrate 25 years of discoveries. As a small American business, and THE top, award winning small boat cruise line for adventure, we know that flexibility is the ticket to big experiences. That’s why within our routes we’re ready to turn, pause, and seize opportunity. Linger for whale sprays or a lesson in net fishing. Good day for a beach party on a deserted island? Why not! Our commitment to going places and doing things others can’t—and our exceptional crew… and food… and creating a safe environment—sets us apart.

unrivaled.6

“Being on a small ship with great friends (new) and being the ONLY ship or vessel of any kind around us. …Unforgettable.” Diane N; Port Angeles, WA (Alaska, 2019)

We also recognize the importance of being a good citizen—having respect for the environment and one another. At UnCruise Adventures, we don’t just talk the talk. Be good to each other. Get a little better every day. Make different mistakes. Do the right thing. These are the core values that guide us whether we are out in the field or working magic behind the scenes.

Access by small boat (86 guests, tops) enables you to wrap yourself in the adventure. With a near obsession about being accommodating, we make it easy to try something new. No hidden costs, either, so you can so you can focus on what’s important. From photos of your trip to excursions, presentations, and yes, food and beverages (alcohol too), it’s all covered in the fare.

First HAdventurein

earty, active adventures are rooted in our core. So is watching for wildlife, time spent with locals, and digging into the culture and history of the places you visit. You might be snorkeling with dozens of sea turtles in the morning and joining a cultural ambassador like Danny Akaka to talk story in the afternoon.

The spirit of the islands—in all our destinations—is alive and well. In Baja, the Romero family has been leading mule rides across Bahia Agua Verde for generations. Saddle up, sit tight, and wind your way through desert, beach, and a green oasis. On Molokai, Greg and Anakala Pilipo welcome you to the Halawa Valley where they farm, hunt, and fish. Sidle up to a park ranger in Alaska or visit Panamá’s historic Coiba National Park. These are some of the people and pulse of a place.

Hikes

Ascend a desert ridge in Baja or Galápagos. Tackle a switchback in the Pacific Northwest. Delve into Costa Rican jungle and sniff out a jaguar trail in Belize. Or meet the Alaskan bushwhack: a wild and woolly trek over logs and through brush. From an intertidal shore walk or stroll in town to an hours-long summit, hikes are as hard-charging or as slow-paced as you like. It’s up to you. We have hiking poles so you can head out with confidence.

Kayaking & paddle boarding

Snorkeling & polar plunges

Let our drivers shuttle you to shore for another excursion or power up and head around the bend to get a better look at sea otters cracking open a shell, iguanas on the move, or birds soaring above the treetops. Climb in, binoculars ready. The skiff’s the thing for covering serious ground with little effort.

Immersive in every way and—like all our excursions—snorkeling ranges from intro lessons along shore to deep water jump and go. Noodles are provided if needed, and wet suits are also available in some destinations. For those seeking an extra thrill, try Alaska’s polar plunge—a leap off the fantail and a fun, frigid experience. Chances are you’ll watch your captain jump in too.

From guided Kayaking 101 to an afternoon open paddle, settle in and explore. While open paddling is offered, most kayak outings are guided. In Alaska, challenge yourself to a yak-n-whack: a kayak and bushwhack all-day land and water excursion and UnCruise original. Paddle boards are also available in most destinations. If the water’s calm, keep your eyes on the horizon and give it a go.

Come Play

Skiff rides

The best of the best, experts in the industry, and just plain fun. Your onboard team includes the captain, mates, engineers, chefs, expedition guides, and hotel, galley and deck staff. Each team member is hand-picked for their astounding knowledge, experience, customer service, and safety skills—plus their “can do” attitude and genuine spirit. They undergo training in areas such as leadership, CPR, wilderness response, safety, guest services, and “Leave No Trace” practices. They’ve got you covered.

Your Crew

But it’s more than that. Crew knows your name, quickly learns your activity style, and even your drink order. When trying something new, they’ll hold your hand (with sanitizer) until you get the knack. Guides are trained to protect you from wild things, and they’re full of facts and eager to share. So fire off your questions about the funny-looking bird. Sit in on an after-dinner talk about glaciology or whale migration. And don’t be shy about asking for what you need in your cabin or with your meal. Requests are happily met with a “let me see what I can do.”

It’s crew’s unique talents, love of travel, and a deep respect and appreciation for the places we visit that shape your adventures. Trust us—you’ll be raving, too.

— Caroline B; New Brighton, MN (Alaska 2019)

Life on board is relaxing, too. From the cozy Safari Quest to big sister Wilderness Legacy , every boat creates community and the atmosphere is casual and intimate. Share a laugh and cocktail in the lounge with your new comrades. Chat up your captain and mates on the open bridge. Watch for wildlife or take a quiet moment on the bow.

Safe & Sound

undeniable.14

—Sara

The beauty of small boats (one of many) is you travel in small groups. No queuing up hoping to get in on the action or FOMO. There is room for everybody no matter how you choose to spend your time. Kicked back or go, go, go. Presentations from your expedition team can happen outside on deck or in the lounge. And on most boats, you can even listen in from your cabin. Questions about the wildlife? Just ask (or, seek your answer in the onboard library). Want to up your knot tying skills? Grab a rope and head to the deck. Meet your new BFF? It’s likely. Life on board really does create bonds.

It’s a safe environment. Your own bubble in the wild. And we’ll do our darndest to keep it that way. Prior to getting on board an UnCruise, precautions are taken to ensure guests and crew alike arrive healthy and the risk of spreading a bug is minimized during your cruise. Crew members are fastidious about cleaning and safety protocols. There are no buffets during meals and social hour appetizers are individually served. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout each boat, and depending on what’s happening in the world, our crew will even mask up, and ask you to do likewise. Your captain and crew even conduct safety drills and demonstrate the best maneuvers that’ll have you as surefooted as a goat.

— Marc C; San Diego, CA (Costa Rica Panamá 2019)

At our core all team members believe we are stewards of the lands where we travel. “Take only photographs, leave only footprints, make unforgettable memories.”

At UnCruise Adventures, we evaluate our actions every step of the way. From itinerary planning and operations management to adhering to codes of conduct that protect wildlife like the Marine Mammal Protection Act and NOAA Humpback Whale Approach Regulations. And, we work with partners like the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program to ensure best practices

We’ve implemented responsible practices to lessen our footprint. Replacing engines for more efficient models, eliminating single-use water bottles by offering refillable bottles instead, providing reef-safe sunscreen, and removing trash left by others. Sometimes it’s not good enough to leave a place the way we found it. Leave no trace, ours or otherwise—that’s our intention, wherever we travel.

Sustainability

15UnCruise.com

“Greatly appreciated the focus on environmentally friendly practices. H2O bottles, cleaning products, paper straws, etc. mean a great deal to us. The care and compassion shared by all staff with our family was utterly extraordinary.”

Our adventures also impact local communities. From sourcing fresh ingredients from local farmers and fishermen, to partnering with native groups for cultural exchanges, we look for ways to share the wealth and support the lives of those we meet.

For 25 years, we’ve delivered experiences that enable us to make a difference. These encounters leave a lasting impact and, we hope, encourage our guests to care more about protecting the environment the way we do.

In the water yesterday, and in the galley today. At sea in our tropical destinations, red snapper and seabass are hand caught by local fishermen—one line, one hook, and live bait. Fish caught within miles of where you sail. Shift your latitude, and Alaska’s Icy Strait provides sustainable seafood caught by generations of locals. As the first cruise line ever to participate in the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program, we’re proud to be a sustaining partner serving only seafood they list as a “Best Choice” or “Good Alternative” aboard our vessels.

Local. Fresh. Inspired.

Taste where you travel. Along the Sea of Cortés, a dedicated plot of land supplies your boat with the brightest beets and a rainbow of carrots. In Hawaii, a small organic Molokai farm grows your purple sweet potato—then it’s roasted with chimichurri sauce—and their pineapple, topped with mascarpone ice cream and a banana bread crumble. Yum. In Costa Rica, locally grown plantains, patacones, are sliced and fried for a tasty treat. Further north in Alaska, a micro-grower out of Juneau provides greens with a sweetness and spiciness that makes what’s on your plate pop. Small greens, BIG flavors.

Our “local” means relationships with local families and small-scale fishermen that support the community. Good for our land and oceans, as well our chefs who prepare it—and good for you, too. Inspiration is from our hearts: ocean-friendly, field to table, and baked-onboard breads and desserts with the pastry chef’s personal flair. Sample the region and taste the love.

“The creativity of the menu was outstanding. The chefs cleverly incorporated local cuisine, spices, and seasonings.”

Spirit of the Bar

Classic cocktails come with inventive twists, innovative tiki drinks showcase fresh fruit juices, and gin and vodka from our favorite Juneau distillery make for endless experimentations. Yup, even the drinks are local, right down to the blackberry liquor and house-made mixers.

“OMG. We are happy foodies. Nice wine selection, love the local influence and applied creativity in the bar.”

Bartenders are happy to shake up (or stir) your requests, but what they really love to do is learn what you like and impress. Inspiration for the cocktail of the day comes from your adventures. Top off a bushwhack with a bramble cocktail, toast with your kayaking buddy to an afternoon well spent, or try out a local rum or digestif with your dinner companion. Pick your pleasure and cheers to adventure: all beverages are included in the fare.

The ship’s lounge quickly becomes your local —familiar faces and local beverages. Sample a beer from a regional brewer or our other rotating taps. Taste your way through cask wines like Washington and Oregon varietals. And its own expert bartender.

A kayaker’s heaven. Eagles above lure you around the bend for a quiet communing with nature. That is, until your expedition guide gives a shout alerting you to petroglyphs on the canyon wall or “orcas at three o’clock!” Circle up and check it out. Life’s little surprises have a lot to say.

From the graceful winding channels of the San Juan Islands to the steep walls of the Columbia River Gorge, meanderings in the Pacific Northwest put you somewhere unique. Paddle up to a bird rookery, examine rock formations from the skiff, or get an adrenaline rush in class III whitewater rapids. Out here, a hike for every level means just that. Casual beachcombers can poke around tide pools and panoramic views reward from high above the river. Spot a bald eagle snatching a live salmon. Hear a chorus of sea lions bark. Temperate rainforest, canyons, vineyards, and waterfalls. Listen and find your place.

Eyes up for bald eagles and osprey.

Proudly arching their backs, noses in the air, the sea lions are ready to play. Get in your snorkeling gear as they join you. Baja’s friendly locals spin, swirl, and twirl right alongside you. Playtime is key in Mexico’s Sea of Cortés. Snorkeling with sea lions is often a highlight, but the dolphins, starfish, and butterfly fish certainly don’t disappoint. And when it’s beach party day, lounge in the sand or grab a paddle board. On land it’s up the ridge you go. By mule or on foot, the landscape shifts from desert, to beach, to sea, and back again. Take a hike lined with cardon, cholla, and pitaya cacti with a pop of a red prickly poppy. Iguanas on land and blue-footed boobies above, your adventure buddies are all around.

The Galápagos Islands belong to the animals. From millions of years ago to now, each island is filled with discoveries and its own endemic species. Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station for an inside peek at the conservation efforts of the giant tortoise. I am very much in love with nature because what happens from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the sea is an amazing connection that we all should understand, respect, and love."

When not guiding in SE Alaska or Baja, Jeremy lives in Northern California and enjoys exploring the mountains, rivers, and ocean with his family.

74

Jeremy was born in Jackson Hole, Wyo. and raised in The Tetons, Northern Utah, and Northern California. Surrounded by rugged country and wildlife, he was attracted to the natural world at an early age. On a trip to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala when he was 10, he was introduced to a myriad of cultures, history, and languages in the Latin world. Inspired to learn more, Jeremy eventually studied History at Weber State University in Ogden, UT, continued traveling to Mexico and Central America, and spent as much time as possible outdoors. While attending graduate school for Linguistics at the University of Utah, he worked at Glacier Bay National Park, AK for several summers and fell in love with Southeast Alaska. Over the last 20 years, Jeremy has worked as a guide/naturalist in southeast Alaska and, over the last 10 years, he has worked in the Sea of Cortes as well. In 2018, Jeremy continued his interest in Latin culture by representing Uncruise Adventures in El Salvador teaching local youth guiding and kayaking skills.

From bow to stern, there’s plenty of fresh air. In most cabins, either your door or your window opens directly to the great outdoors. You can breathe easy and relax. Isn’t that what vacation is for?

Mexico,

While each boat in our US-flagged and American-crewed fleet* has its own personality, all share an energy that creates relaxation and community. And built for adventure, their shallow drafts grant access to places bigger ships can’t go, bringing you up close to what’s outside— taking it slow and easy so you can take it all in.

Wilderness Legacy Voyager Endeavour Quest Explorer Pinta

76UnCruise.com

Polished, unwavering, and upscale, the Safari Endeavour may be the workhorse of the fleet but it’s her zest-for-life persona that’s remembered most. She looks sharp—a nod to the crew who work hard to keep her that way. Wood fixtures and accents shine and artwork highlights the warm and cool waters where she sails. No other UnCruise vessel covers more territory, and like her namesake, Captain Cook’s Endeavour, both the ship and crew are true explorers. Her roomy lounge, dining room, and sun deck are undisputed, but the Safari Endeavour claims to have the biggest heart, too.

Safari Endeavour

Safari Explorer 36 Guests / 15 Crew / 18 Cabins 1-888-862-8881 78

This high-end SUV of a ship is nimble, strong, and loving. Her performance- built rugged construction means access to faraway regions. But it’s what’s on the inside that makes this yacht the prize of the fleet. And with only 36 guests on board, the feel is decidedly exclusive.

Agile, spry, and with clean design lines, the Safari Quest can cut into the tiniest nooks that even our other small ships can’t reach. This includes coveted wilderness areas with highly limited access. For those most special adventures, she is the ticket in. While small is her secret for access, on the inside this yacht is anything but. Spacious and comfy cabins. A cozy and welcoming lounge and dining room. And plenty of onboard niches for nestling and relaxing. Feel the love.

Safari Voyager 66 Guests / 30 Crew / 34 Cabins 1-888-862-8881 80

Handcrafted artwork throughout the vessel pays homage to the regions of Latin America. Casual in nature, the Safari Voyager is a bit of a show-off, too—take in 270-degree views from the top deck or window-to-window lounge.

Discreet, sleek, and stealthy, the Safari Voyager is comfortable in warm water regions and built to handle humidity and heat. Tropical adventure, wilderness access, and the natural landscape are always at the forefront. A seamless extension of the places she sails, the ship and her mostly local crew exude pura vida (pure life).

Wilderness Adventurer

60 Guests / 27 Crew / 30 Cabins 1-888-862-888181

Like your favorite, hippie-cool aunt, she’s sage, soulful, and game for every adventure—and likely the one leading the charge. The unassuming Wilderness Adventurer has style and all the amenities needed to get the job done. It’s just as comfortable moseying into the lounge for a pint as it is leaping from the fantail for a polar plunge or sketching a landscape from the sun deck. No doubt, she lives up to her name. The mantra on board could be: work hard, play hard, relax, repeat. The ship’s easy-going, fun-making energy inspires fierce loyalty by her crew and guests alike.

Wilderness Discoverer

Inviting, and oh, so cared for by her crew, the Wilderness Discoverer delivers big adventure with top-of-the-class style. She has Alaska in her soul - and a beautiful bar top and tap tower made from a yellow cedar log found in Peril Strait. But looks aside, she doesn't hold back when it comes to exploration. Her shoal draft allows access to waters that are off-limits to bigger boats, where she can slip right in. An instigator of action, she was the first "Wilderness" boat in the family and set us on a path toward greater adventures - you will be too.

Wilderness Explorer 74 Guests / 28 Crew / 37 Cabins 1-888-862-888183

Daring and ambitious, and a wee bit salty, the Wilderness Explorer was destined for Alaska's deep waters from the first moment she slid into the drink. As mariners say, she's tough - a strong "sea boat" with feet, who's not bashful or apologetic in her unflinching drive to seek out secret niches. Embracing change, the crew is known to try the untried - whether it's a new anchorage, gaining access to an unexplored trail, or a creative new recipe with local ingredients. Get to know her, and she'll warm your heart.

Wilderness Legacy 86 Guests / 35 Crew / 43 Cabins 1-888-862-8881 84

The one-of-a-kind Legacy sails to the farthest reaches spinning yarns of adventure along the way. Like the crew and guests having the time of their lives, she hums with each new opportunity. It's no wonder that for many of the crew (and office folk), she's a first love that never fades.

Equipped with kayaks, paddle boards and skiffs and the Sea Dragon - her launch pad to adventure. She is ready for exploration, and has the most spacious viewing decks in the fleet. Wherever she sails, she announces her arrival with the blow of a whistle.

48 Guests / 27 Crew / 24 Cabins 1-888-862-888185

Elegant and sophisticated, La Pinta would steal the show anywhere less impressive. Instead, she’s the perfect complement to one of the world’s greatest environments. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge showcase the views. An outdoor Sky Bar and sun deck, and décor that nods to the nautical. Her Ecuadorian crew exudes friendliness fueled by pride in their vessel, the Galápagos Islands, and a desire to share them both.

You’re a very special outfit and each trip with you has been unique and outstanding in every way!”
