Shipbuilding is a tradition that runs in my family. My grandfather worked at a Fincantieri shipyard and would share stories about the ships being built there. As a child, I imagined the distant lands to which those ships would sail; I thought about their guests, dreaming about their adventures. From an early age, I aspired to work in the maritime industry. I realised this goal when I qualified as a Marine Engineer and Naval Architect. I therefore take pride in enhancing our fleet for our guests, to stand at the forefront of an industry that is dear to my heart. Supported by the Royal Caribbean Group, we’re launching ships at an unprecedented rate, expanding and enhancing our range of experiences. With every new ship, I feel a sense of excitement that is shared by those in our extended family. They will take our unique concept of luxury to the ends of the Earth. I am proud of what we achieved in 2020: as well as working with some of the world’s best shipyards to launch Silver Origin and Silver Moon, we also laid the keel for Silver Dawn – due to join our fleet at the end of 2021. Silver Origin is our first destinationspecific ship, setting new heights for experiential travel in the Galápagos as the region’s most elegant ship. Silver Dawn will join sister ship Silver Moon in redefining 21st century luxury travel, offering our new S.A.L.T. culinary programme and our new spa concept.
