Breakfast is international with a Greek twist, our continental breakfast includes freshly baked rolls, muffins and Danish pastries. A full hot buffet is also available. Additionally, guests can enjoy new healthy breakfast options from the onboard Greek deli serving yoghurts and fruits.

Available both at lunch and dinner including appetizers, salads, soups, main courses and home made bread, all freshly prepared onboard, followed by desserts, fresh fruits and cheeses. Our morning arrival gives us all day in Kusadasi, plenty of time to explore the colourful beach town that is the coastal gateway to the Hellenistic ruins of Ephesus, famed for one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis.

We leave the historic and classical capital of Greece and set sail on our overnight voyage to Thessaloniki. Your first night will give you the opportunity to relax, indulge in our Inclusive hospitality and anticipate the adventures ahead on your very own Aegean Odyssey of discovery.

From one evocative island to another. Crete is Greece’s largest island and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean, a place of myths and legends. There will be the opportunity to visit the capital Heraklion and absorb some of its extraordinary history. 01 DAY

MYKONOS

The Island of the Winds awaits. You will undoubtedly recognise the picture postcard white windmills sitting side by side, overlooking the sea. You may also want to see the ancient temples on neighbouring Delos.

MILOS

You may be asleep when we depart Mykonos but we will be in Milos, the Island of Colours, at breakfast time. You will have time to explore the capital, Plaka, 2,000 year old catacombs or simply soak up the sun on the flat rocks of stunning Sarakiniko Beach. The real beauty of this truly gorgeous island is to be found in its stunning landscapes, wind and sea sculptured rock formations, soft sandy beaches, secluded coves and crystal clear aquamarine waters. The island’s most famous export is the Venus de Milo.

There is no place on earth like Istanbul. We have two days in this vibrant city. Sitting on the coast of the Mediterranean, the city was established in 1859 during the construction of the Suez Canal. It flourished for decades but its glory is a little faded. It still has an allure but the main attraction is the Suez Canal, with a raised pedestrian boardwalk running along the waterfront. If you want to travel a little further please join us on an excursion to Cairo and the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only one of Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing.

04 DAYASHDOD

Diverse, modern-day Ashdod covers the land of two ancient twin towns, it’s the largest port in Israel and one of the oldest cities in the world. It was inhabited by the Philistines in biblical times and when they captured the Ark of the Covenant from the Israelites, they brought it here (although they had to give it back).

Ashdod is only 33 miles from historic Jerusalem so a trip to see the Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock, the Wailing Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Via Dolorosa and more of the most celebrated sites and buildings, can be arranged.

This bustling tourist heart of Cyprus is full of character and history, not least the centuries-old Limassol Castle, home to the Cyprus Medieval Museum and its collection of pottery and tombstones. A short drive away is iconic Aphrodite’s Rock and the striking Crusader Castle at Kolossi. The centre of Limassol buzzes with cafes, bars and restaurants that are as popular with locals as with visitors. You can take an excursion to Paphos to visit the UNESCO archaeological site and Aphrodite’s Rock.

The Colossus of Rhodes, the third of our Seven Wonders, once bestrode the harbour but he is long gone. So you can take in the lovely Old Town, a maze of atmospheric cobbled streets that will transport you back to the Byzantine Empire and beyond.

From Rhodes, we recommend you take a half-day tour of the Acroplis of Lindos. We’ll show you what life was like centuries ago.

We begin our journey in the world’s ancient capital, the cradle of western civilisation and the birthplace of democracy. St Paul himself is likely to have arrived by ship at the port of Athens and he preached at Mars Hill (Aeropagus) near the heart of the city, the Acropolis. The Ancient Agora in the Plaka district was one of the many meeting places of the Apostle.

THESSALONIKI

Full of history, culture and beauty, this is Greece’s vibrant second city. St Paul arrived here to preach in 49 AD on his Second Missionary. His First Letter to the Thessalonians was addressed to a church in the city the following year. In a day of wonder, we see the Citadel and Vlatadon Monastery where St Paul visited. Then we drive to Veria (Berroia in the Bible) where he preached to the noble Jews. St Paul is the patron saint of Veria.

DIKILI

The port city of Dikili in Turkey is our stopping off point for ancient Pergamon, once one of the most powerful Greek cities. Here was the northernmost of the seven churches of Asia Minor as cited in the New Testament Book of Revelation. After a visit to the Acropolis, we will visit the remains of Asklepion, a healing temple and the forerunner of what we would know as a hospital.

Kusadasi is the gateway to Ephesus, once the second largest city of the Roman Empire and of course the home of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It’s believed that Paul wrote his Letter to the Ephesians here and preached at the Great Theatre of Ephesus, carved into the side of Mt Pion. It is still renowned for its wonderful acoustics. Our day also features the ancient city of Miletus where St Paul stayed on his way back to Jerusalem.

PATMOS

Patmos is one of northernmost islands in the Dodecanese and one of the smallest, most charming and most spiritual. It has an atmosphere of sacred grandeur. Patmos is most famous for being where the Book of Revelations was written, and where the vision to John the Baptist that it refers to is supposedly located. When John was banished by Rome to Patmos near the end of his life, he was the last remaining of the 12 Disciples. You can visit St John’s Monastery and the Holy Grotto of the Apocalypse, both of which have drawn pilgrims for centuries.

We leave Athens and head for beautiful Mykonos in the Cyclades. The island, according to Greek mythology, was formed by the bodies of giants slain by Hercules. The most recognisable site on Mykonos is the row of immaculate picture postcard white windmills overlooking the water. Every visitor takes that picture. The Old Town has many delightful cafes and tavernas along its winding alleys and time will pass very quickly in these lovely, relaxing surroundings.

KUSADASI/PATMOS

Vibrant and colourful, Kusadasi in Turkey is the gateway to the Hellenistic ruins of Ephesus, famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Our next port of call is Patmos, a small and charming island a little over 20 square kilometres in size and lying in the Dodecanese. It is most famous for being where the Book of Revelations was written, and the location of John the Baptist’s vision, which is detailed in the text.

His remains are nowhere to be seen, of course, but the Colossus of Rhodes once bestrode the harbour which gives us another link to the Seven Wonders. Lose yourself in the maze of atmospheric cobbled streets of the Old Town (a World Heritage Site) in that will transport you back to the Byzantine Empire, and be sure to wander through the Knights Quarter and the Palace of the Grand Master. Indeed, Rhodes is also known as the Island of the Knights. Our itinerary allows us a whole day here which gives plenty of opportunity to discover the clear waters, wonderful beaches and lush wooded valleys.

SANTORINI

Our odyssey continues as we spend the day in Santorini, whose stunning face is instantly recognisable across the world. We’re sure she will take your breath away, with her soaring landscapes, clusters of whitewashed houses in the capital Fira, and, of course, the iconic blue-domed church at Oia. Don’t forget to try one of the many restaurants jostling for position at the edge of the caldera.

This ancient island is rumoured to be the birthplace of the legendary ancient poet Homer, with the Daskalopetra, or Teacher’s Stone, marking the spot where he taught his students and narrated his poems. Explore Chios on foot and you’ll weave your way from the black stone beach of Mavros Gialos and its volcanic rocks to the abandoned village of Anavatos. Seeking shelter from the marauding Ottoman troops, the local villagers fled to the nearby Nea Mono Monastery but were discovered. Today, the abandoned hillside village stands empty as testament to their memory.

The thick Byzantine walls guarding Thessaloniki give way to an inviting mix of architectural landscapes with winding cobbled streets. Approaching the port, you will be captivated by a city that radiates culture and sophistication bathed in golden Greek sunshine.

ATHENS

We begin our journey in the world’s ancient capital, the cradle of western civilisation and the birthplace of democracy. St Paul himself is likely to have arrived by ship at the port of Athens and he preached at Mars Hill (Aeropagus) near the heart of the city, the Acropolis. The Ancient Agora in the Plaka district was one of the many meeting places of the Apostles.

We enter from the azureblue Bay of Izmir, watching the lively city approach with its distinctly Turkish skyline. The Pearl of the Aegean, Izmir has a rich heritage of multicultural influences, so the cuisine and communities are endlessly inviting. Even in winter, the laidback and vivacious atmosphere can make it feel 01 DAY

Palm-lined avenues house glamorous shops and gourmet restaurants, and historic cobblestone streets present traditional tavernas and ouzerias to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. The town is one that is typically found on the Greek island. Neoclassical buildings, restaurants, bars and shops line the lakeside. Wander the streets and marina and soak up the sun in one of the many cafes.

ANTALYA

An extra special stop on our festive cruise brings you within 100 miles of the birthplace of St Nicholas, the original Santa Claus. Here in Antalya you’ll follow the footsteps of a Roman emperor at Hadrian’s Gate. You’ll discover Ottoman-era houses and gardens in the old town of Kaleici. And you’ll even meet the founder of Turkey, Kemal Ataturk, at his striking monument in Republic Square.

LIMASSOL

This bustling tourist heart of Cyprus is full of character and history, not least the centuries-old Limassol Castle, home to the Cyprus Medieval Museum and its collection of pottery and tombstones. A short drive away is iconic Aphrodite’s Rock and the striking Crusader castle at Kolossi. The centre of Limassol buzzes with cafes, bars and restaurants that are as popular with locals as with visitors.

ALEXANDRIA

Egypt’s second city was founded in 331 BC by Alexander the Great. It is the stuff of legends and the home of the first of our Seven Wonders. The towering Pharos lighthouse marked the entrance to the ancient harbour and the city’s Great Library was the archive of ancient knowledge. Little remains of its glorious past but Alexandria has been reinvented as a lively, cosmopolitan and commercial centre. If you want to travel a little further please join us on an excursion to Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza, the only one of Seven Great Wonders still standing.

Your Christmas story leads you down the same path as the Three Wise Men on their journey to Palestine’s Bethlehem. There is also the opportunity to visit the monasteries of Meteora, perched on the top of vertical rock formations and a wonder to behold.

This bustling tourist heart of Cyprus is full of character and history, not least the centuries-old Limassol Castle, home to the Cyprus Medieval Museum and its collection of pottery and tombstones. A short drive away is iconic Aphrodite’s Rock and the striking Crusader castle at Kolossi. The centre of Limassol buzzes with cafes, bars and restaurants that are as popular with locals as with visitors.

RHODES

The Colossus of Rhodes, the third of our Seven Wonders, once bestrode the harbour but he is long gone. So you can take in the lovely Old Town, a maze of atmospheric cobbled streets that will transport you back to the Byzantine Empire and beyond.

ATHENS

When we arrive back in Athens for a day of festivities, Greek-style, you can choose how to spend our day together. Visit the monuments you know from legends and history? Marvel at the view of the city from the Acropolis? Shop for last-minute gifts to share your voyage with loved ones at home? It’s all up to you. This is our home city, and we can’t wait to show you around.

VOLOS

We arrive in the attractive coastal port city of Volos in the morning. The area’s background will captivate you and features in some of the most remarkable tales of Greek mythology. Volos was the mythical home of Jason and the Argonauts. The famous Argonaut expedition set sail from the region, which was also the birthplace of the Centaurs, part human, part equine. There is also the opportunity to visit the monasteries of Meteora, perched on the top of vertical rock formations and a wonder to behold.

THESSALONIKI

The thick Byzantine walls guarding Thessaloniki give way to an inviting mix of architectural landscapes with winding cobbled streets. Approaching the port, you will be captivated by a city that radiates culture and sophistication bathed in golden Greek sunshine.

Palm-lined avenues house glamorous shops and gourmet restaurants, and historic cobblestone streets present traditional tavernas and ouzerias to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Beautiful churches appear from every corner, seasonal markets sell colorful local produce and shaded spots on Aristotelous Square are where you can sit back with a homemade ice cream and watch the world go by.

ISTANBUL

The Greeks, Romans, Venetians and the Ottomans have all held sway over this city straddling Europe and Asia across the mighty Bosphorus. You will see the stunning Sultan Ahmet (Blue) Mosque, Hippodrome, Church of Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace, Galata Bridge and of course the incomparable Grand Bazaar. This only touches the surface of the place once known as Byzantium and Constantinople. St Paul also travelled through the nearby city of Troas many times.

KAVALA

St Paul came to this northern city and nearby ancient Neapolis on his first journey to Europe. At ancient Philippi he baptised the first Greek and European Christian convert, Lydia. A church and open air baptistery stand on the very site he gave his first sermon. We visit the archaeological site here including the prison where Paul and St Silas were held. St Paul’s Monument is also on our itinerary.

SYROS

The elegant port city of Ermoupoli, which serves as the capital of the prefecture, was constructed mainly in the 1820s, during the time of the Greek War of Independence. As you approach you’ll notice that two large hills dominate the port: one is the old town of Ano Syros, with the 13th-century Catholic cathedral of St. George, and the other is crowned with a Greek Orthodox church.

Representing a major new chapter for us, our new ship looks toward a future that will bring us ever closer to our guests as we explore Greece and the Eastern Med together. Currently undergoing a $20 million refit, the Celestyal Journey will be decked out in style ready for her first sailing in September 2023. With a capacity of 1,260 passengers, our newest ship means we can offer more guests the opportunity to turn their vacation wish list into a reality.

Celestyal Crystal

TheCelestyal Crystal with her yacht like design and intimate feel makes her stand out from the crowd. The Crystal can fit neatly into smaller harbours and ports that bigger vessels cannot access. She is bright and airy and feels like home from home.

The Crystal can be home to a maximum of 1,200 guests on any one cruise being looked after by a crew of just over 400 ensuring a truly memorable personal experience. A stay onboard could not be more comfortable, whether you are relaxing in a suite or stateroom or in the elegant restaurants, bars and lounges, spa, fitness rooms and promenade deck.

The Crystal has 421 staterooms, 43 junior suites and 16 suites. 53 of these are with private balconies. All suites were refurbished in 2019. All suites and staterooms are en-suite, with a TV and air conditioning. All suites have minibars.

When it comes to dining, the choices are varied. There are four venues, depending on what you’re in the mood for. The Olympus and Amalthia Restaurants serve fine international and Greek cuisine. For children, a kid’s menu is also available in both dining rooms. You can also enjoy our specialty restaurant menu with a selection of local dishes at a charge. For more casual dining head for the Leda and Aura buffet areas, located on deck 9.

BARS

The Crystal has ample choice of Bars throughout the ship whether that is with a birdseye view up in the Horizons Bar or tucked away in the Thalassa Bar watching the last destination fade away into the distance. You can also enjoy a beverage in the Eros Bar on deck 8 or Helios Bar by the poolside.

ENTERTAINMENT & RELAXING

Evening shows are performed in the comfortable Muses Lounge and the onboard casino comes with the latest slot machines from Las Vegas. There are massage rooms, sauna, steam baths, gym and a beauty centre. There’s a swimming pool on deck 9 and Jacuzzi on deck 5.

ONBOARD SERVICES

Professional photographers are available to take photos and videos of those special moments. Our onboard duty-free shops are where you can find everything from souvenirs and clothes to tobacco and spirits. Conference facilities available for hire. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge.

Celestyal olympia

Theelegant Olympia reflects and celebrates Greek heritage, tradition and culture and offers warm Mediterranean hospitality. She has sunny, bright, airy lounges and restaurants, spacious staterooms, two pools and generous expanse of teak decking.

The ship is named after the site in Western Greece, dedicated to Zeus, where the ancient Olympic Games were held.

Regarded as the jewel in the crown of the Celestyal fleet, Olympia underwent a complete refurbishment in 2016 and is home to a maximum of 1,664 guests on any one cruise being looked after by a crew of just over 540.

Your time on board will seem unhurried and relaxed and there will be plenty of time to explore the exciting places Olympia will take you to.
