Alaska & the Inside Passage
Haida Gwaii • Kimsquit • Prince William Sound • Aleutian Islands
A magical region of towering mountains, long fjords flanked by old-growth spruce forests, and wildlife-rich waterways where tidewater glaciers push down to the sea teeming with whales, sea lions, and sea otters. Along Alaska’s famed Inside Passage, blaze a trail through the maze of secret islands and narrow straits, where pods of orca patrol the seas.
As the mist gently lifts from quiet bays and coves, we may encounter inquisitive humpback whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, orcas, and porpoise. Black and grizzly bears, wolves, moose, and deer roam temperate rainforests while bald eagles soar above. Listen to stories and legends recounted by First Nations locals, and discover Alaska’s history of Russian fur trade and America’s dash for gold.
