You can hear both international and great homegrown talents at local venues and pubs, and enjoy almost three weeks of outstanding musical programming in July, at the Elora Festival. There are country, Celtic and straightahead rock performances throughout the summer as well. Elora’s Riverfest is an annual celebration of music and community where you can enjoy two energizing song-filled summer days on the banks of the Grand River. Both the Fergus Truck Show and the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games—the largest events of their kind in North America—feature an impressive musical component, and traditional competitions that draw entries and spectators from far and wide. The artistic community flourishes here, and is on display year-round at the widely respected Elora Centre for the Arts. There are other creative experiences too—from “OneHot-Date” glass blowing classes to hot metal and mayhem blacksmith workshops, fine art to fly-tying classes, historical and culinary walking tours—all designed to invite visitor participation and expression. Throughout it all, our Bed & Breakfast hosts and innkeepers will pamper you on your overnight stays in quality accommodations that are as diverse and interesting as the homes and hosts themselves. ur spirit of place is strong, and the telling of it can be found in the Wellington County Museum and Archives. Standing like a hilltop sentinel between Elora and Fergus, it is the jewel of our heritage crown. It is also a welcome rest stop on the Elora Cataract Trailway: a 47-kilometre rail trail linking picturesque communities along its route, and a wonderful way to explore the region. See the Gorge in two downtowns, at Elora’s Victoria Park, and Templin Gardens in Fergus. The trails and natural waterways running through both towns are valued treasures, allowing visitors and residents to tube, zipline, kayak and swim whenever their inner adventurer lets loose! There is a cultural vibe that radiates through Elora and Fergus; a creative energy that draws artists, musicians and art lovers together to build an enclave of talent with an appreciative audience. Some of the most important artists in our nation have been inspired by our landscape. A.J. Casson fell in love with and painted our scenic views. Today, Elora Acoustic Café and Art in the Open bring live music and outdoor art to Elora while independent theatre companies grace the stage of the historic Fergus Grand Theatre. And for those who enjoy finding special treasures, our many unique shops and boutiques offer a delightful experience and selection. arliest settlers founded Fergus and Elora more than 175 years ago, and since that time, many others have joined us in calling it home. There’s a reason for that. Ask those who came to visit and decided to stay, and they’ll mention the sensible pace of life— energized but unhurried. Business-driven, but creative. Cultural and scenic, yet technologically connected, close to major roads and cities, including the GTA. Friendly and accessible; an enclave of natural beauty and agricultural production, buffered from city smog alerts and stressful drives.
There are business development lands and opportunities here for entrepreneurs, manufacturing and service industries alike. M
usic—from the classics to classic rock— is prominent everywhere. From rural retreats to in-town estates, a B&B stay is a great way to relax and indulge. And because you will undoubtedly get hungry again following breakfast, there’s a wide variety of dining experiences that will

Heritage towns and trails
O
ur spirit of place is strong, and the telling of it can be found in the Wellington County Museum and Archives. The Elora Fergus Studio Tour, a successful behindthe-scenes tour of the intimate studios of
participating artists, has emerged as a southern Ontario must-see event spanning two weekends in the fall. And for those who enjoy finding special treasures, our many unique shops and boutiques offer a delightful experience and selection. For anyone looking for a unique gift, downtown Fergus and Elora are great yearround getaway shopping destinations, and the perfect place for holiday shopping amidst our many Christmas season festivities.

The only thing better than visiting might be living here
E
arliest settlers founded Fergus and Elora more than 175 years ago, and since that time, many others have joined us in calling it home.
Ontario’s Places to Grow Act is fueling growth in population, housing and the labour market. And then, of course, there are all the fun reasons to settle down here. If you run, paddle, pipe, or love old buildings, natural rivers and landmarks; if you like to fish, zipline, tour or stroll through the past; if you relish adventure or calm, you need to make Centre Wellington your destination for a day, a week, for life.
