Theory & Intro to Digtal

Architectural Theory In Theory class we read many stories staring from Platos Allegory of the cave story, to the Primitive Hut, Virtruvius, The Four books of Architecture and so fourth. At the end of our journey we were to create a Manifesto that we would want to go by when creating architecture, based off our newfound knowlege.

We Live to Grow and We Grow to Live. “Think Green. Be Green. Greener Environment. In order to obtain a longer evolutionary path, we need to think not just of ourselves and the benefits that we may obtain, but we need to think unselfishly and see what we can do to benefit our surroundings. Our life does not just depend solemnly on ourselves, but with the help of animals, plants and ecosystems, etc., these variables allow us to live the way we do.

Intro to Digital

In Intro to Digital I learned how to use a new program I had no idea about, which is called Autodesk Revit. This software is not only for Architects but, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, Contractors and Designers. You can do Plans, Sections, 2D/3D perspectives and so much more. We were given a book and told to follow the instructions and learn how to create the following design.

Tea Ceremony: Japanese

(Door, Window, Stair)

We were given the option to choose between either the Chinese or Japanese Tea Ceremony for the Door, Window, Stair project. We were taken to a Buddhist Temple where we got to partake in the Chinese Ceremony and in class we watched a movie on the Japanese form of the Ceremony. The concept for my design is the way light (depending day or night) Akatsuki-no Chaji (Dawn Tea Cemenoy) ones mood while drinking changes Drinking tea in a dark room with only the tea. candle light and ascend from darkness.

Yuuzari-no Chaji (Early Evening Tea Ceremony) Drinking tea in daylight then descending to only candle light. This brings people to peace with the tea in the same way one goes to sleep in the dark, a sense of serenity and calmness is brought to the experience.
