FRONT DESK & RESORT FACILITIES RECEPTION:
Open from 8am-6pm daily.
To access the property after these hours please enter via the night door located on the side of reception. Your Room Key will allow you access to all exterior doors. If you intend to depart early, please settle your account with us the night before. For Reception or After Hours management dial ‘9’. CHECK OUT TIME:

A late checkout can be arranged subject to availability. Luggage storage is available. CREDIT CARDS: We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and EFTpos. KEY CARDS: Please ensure that you carry your room key when away from the room particularly after 6pm. placing them next to electronic devices (e.g. mobile phone) may deactivate the card. The manager can be contacted from the night phone by dialing 9 if you are locked out. You can also call to your room from the night phone by dialing your room number. BUSINESS SERVICES: Fax, photocopying and printing facilities are available at Reception.

GUEST LAUNDRY: The guest laundry is located in the car park on the ground floor. It has coin operated washing machines and dryers. Both the washing machine and the dryer takes 4 X $1.00 coins. Change is available from Reception. Washing machine powder is available from the dispensing unit on the wall in the guest laundry for $1. Drying racks are available at reception. DRY CLEANING: Please enquire at reception for the dry cleaning service and charges. POOL/SPA AREA: The pool is located on Level 1. Please note there is no lifeguard on duty and guest use this facility at their own risk. All children must be under responsible adult supervision at all times whilst in or around the pool area. For safety reasons, no glass is to be taken into the pool area. Please note that as this is Tropical North Queensland, the spa is not heated but kept cool for your comfort. POOL TOWELS: Available at reception for use in the pool area, beach and day trips. Please leave in your room or return to the basket in reception for laundering. LUGGAGE STORAGE: Luggage can be stored for you at reception.

PARKING FACILITIES: We have limited on-site parking which guests can access from Caryota Close. After Hours the roller door is shut for security however your room key will activate the door. Parking is also available along Williams Esplanade. Only resort guests are permitted to park on the premises. BOXED BREAKFAST: Are available to purchase from reception. GUEST BBQ: There is a BBQ available for use beside the pool area. There are BBQ wipes available in the bottom of the BBQ for wiping down when you have finished. BOOK EXCHANGE: A book case to leave/swap or find a great read is located on Level 1 as you step out of the elevator.

TELEPHONES To dial another room dial direct the number of the room you are calling. Flashing light on phone means that you have a message, dial (star) *91 and follow the prompts until the message ends with the delete options. Your telephone has direct dial STD ISD access. All calls from your room will generate a call charge. If using a phone card please follow the directions on the card. To make a call dial “0” to obtain an outside line then the number you require. WIFI Free WIFI is available to all guests throughout the Resort. To access the WIFI click on the Paradise link through the settings on your device. To obtain the access code please refer to your welcome letter given at check in or contact reception. EMERGENCIES: Dial Reception on ‘9’ NOTE: The Emergency Services Number in Australia for Fire, Ambulance and Police Services is “000” - Dial ‘0’ first for an outside line. WAKE UP CALLS: Can be arranged via reception or by dialing *2 on your phone, then entering the wake up time in 24 hour clock. To cancel a wakeup call dial *2. There is also a clock radio in your room where you can set the alarm.

LOCAL BUS TRANSPORT: The local Sunbus service is available for transportation between Palm Cove and Cairns with some stops at beach destinations along the way. Pick up and drop offs are opposite the front of the Resort. Bus times are available from Reception. TAXI: For taxi collection from the Resort, please phone 131 008 or contact reception. CAR HIRE: Contact the Avis desk in the reception area. Open from 8am to 5pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm weekends. TOUR DESK: Located in reception. DCM Tours can arrange all tour requirements. Brochures on activities and tours are available at the DCM desk. Transfers are provided by many Tour Operators to and from our Resort.

YOUR ROOM HOUSEKEEPING: Rooms receive a service daily with a linen change every 3 days, except for Sundays or Public Holidays. For any housekeeping requirements, please contact Reception. AIR CONDITIONING: The ‘On/Off’ button is on the remote handset in the wall bracket. However, please do not adjust the thermostat. The setting is set at 24 degrees centigrade for optimum performance and cooling. Please ensure that you keep the balcony door closed whilst the air conditioning is on. DRYING RACKS: Drying racks are available from reception. ROOM SAFES: Room Safes are installed in every room. The safe should be open. There is a button on the inside of the safe door that resets your safe. Please push this button before entering your 4 digit pin followed by the ‘A’ button. We do not accept responsibility for any valuables left in your room.

SMOKING: In the interest of health and safety all rooms are NON-SMOKING. We do provide an ash tray for your use on the balcony. Please ensure you keep the balcony door closed while outside smoking a cigarette - smoke can activate the fire alarm. Any call-out fee by the Fire Brigade may be charged to your account. COOKING: When cooking or using the toaster, please ensure windows are open and the room is well ventilated. If a smoke detector is activated then the Fire Brigade response callout fee may be charged to your room account. Toasters are available from reception. MAINTENANCE: Please report any maintenance issues in your room to Reception so we can rectify the problem. DVD’s: Movies for the DVD player in the TV can be obtained from Reception. TELEVISION: Free to air and Foxtel channels available. Power On/Off. Press the STANDBY button on the unit to switch the system on or off. Press the CH- or CH+ button to select the previous or next channels.

DVD PLAYER: Press the SOURCE button on the remote control to select the DVD function mode. Insert a disk into the slot of the DVD player and it will start to read the disc automatically. To eject the disc press the ^button on the remote control and the disc will automatically eject. Note: Insert the disc with reflective data side facing to the front of the TV. Some slight picture and sound noise are produced when the disc is loading, unloading and during playback. How to Pause Playback (Still Playback) Press the Play/Pause button once during playback. Press the Play/Pause button again to resume normal playback. How to Remove the Disc Press the ^ button on the remote control. Wait until the disc is completely ejected before removing. How to Stop Playback Press the STOP button. To re-start the disc from the same point, press the STOP button twice, the disc will stop completely. Press the PLAY button to restart the DVD playback from the start. Fast Forward/Rewind Press the >> or << buttons once for the disc to play forward or backwards. With each subsequent press, the disk will play back at 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x or 32x Speed. Press the ENTER Button to return to normal play.

LOCAL BANKING SERVICES: Most major banks are located at Smithfield which is situated 12km south of Palm Cove just off the main road to Cairns. Hours of business are Monday to Thursday 9.30am – 4.00pm and Friday 9.30am – 5.00pm. An Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is located in the Après Beach Bar & Grill, open during their hours of business. MEDICAL SERVICES: Should you require a doctor, please contact Reception. A 24 Hour Medical Centre is located in Cairns and can be contacted on 4052 1119. Dial a Doctor will come to you and can be contacted on 1300 030 030. PHARMACY: Located on the corner of Veivers Road and Triton Street, Palm Cove. Please see reception for directions. HAIR SALON: Cole Hair and Beauty are conveniently located in the Village Shopping Centre adjacent to Paradise on the Beach. Phone 4055 3609.

SUPERMARKET: Coles Supermarket is located at Clifton Village, Clifton Beach which is the next beach south of Palm Cove. SHOPPING MALL: Situated at Smithfield 12 km south of Palm Cove just off the main road to Cairns. PHOTO KIOSK: A photo kiosk is located at the Palm Cove Post Office, situated beside Paradise on the Beach down Caryota Close. NOTICES Palm Cove is a beautiful location for that early morning stroll, or to soak up our North Queensland sun (don’t forget the sunscreen). BOX JELLYFISH Note that Box jellyfish are prevalent in the coastal waters during the months of November through to May during which time we recommend you swim only in the “Stinger Enclosure” in front of the Surf Lifesaving Club at Palm Cove and only whilst the Life Guards are on duty. Stinger suits are recommended during these months also.

NOTICE ABOUT LOSS OFF GUESTS PROPERTY The Traveller Accommodation Providers (Liability) Act 2001 changes the common law about innkeeper’s liability. Under the Act, an accommodation provider may be liable to make good any loss of a guest’s property in certain circumstances even though the loss is not caused by the fault of the accommodation provider, or the provider’s agent. The strict liability of the accommodation provider under the Act:

Is limited to $250 for each accommodation unit provided for the use of guest on the day, unless the guest’s property was placed in safe custody facilities.
