Good afternoon and welcome to what will be our last game of 2021. We welcome Lewes to Bromley which will be a very entertaining game and a tough one at that.

e come into today’s game off a fantastic effort Wednesday night against Bristol City. I say a fantastic effort because of the current situation we as a club find ourselves. Unfortunately, we had to play with a very weakened squad – due to precautions over a positive COVID case we had to isolate a number of players from our squad including the manager, head coach and GK coach. We sought guidance from the FA who made it clear that we had to fulfil the fixture, even with a severely depleted squad (which included injuries and non Covid illness) and as it happened on the night the team doctor also had to dismiss two players pre-kick off through illness. So, in the circumstances the final score was amazing. The effort and determination from my staff and players to get through the situation left me speechless and full of pride in what can only be described as heroic! The annoyance of this is we know of
I’d like to thank all the CPFCW Loyal and the Palace supporters in general who have come and supported us
matches (outside of the our league) where clubs have been able to postpone their games where they have had more than 14 players available. So on to today’s game - Lewes have also found themselves to the current Covid situation this last week but managed to get some players back in time to also get a fantastic win Wednesday night against WSL side Reading. The games against Lewes are always very close and very competitive and we expect the battles today as we both look to end the year on a high Lastly regardless of today’s result, this has been the best season ever and truly shows that the club players, and staff, are on the right path. I’d like to thank all the CPFCW Loyal and the Palace supporters in general who have come and supported us. We all hope you have a fantastic Christmas, but please stay safe!. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Merry Christmas

entally and physically I’m in a much better place than last season after leaving my job and starting anew. I’m really enjoying football at the moment. I left my job as a postwoman, which had meant walking ridiculous amounts every day. It was killing me with football, so I knew at the end of last season that I had to make a change. Since then I’ve felt a massive difference. I’ve started as an online personal trainer and life has become a lot more manageable. Although I still don’t like calling myself it, I’m also a social media influencer - or content creator. I create videos on TikTok and Instagram for over half a million followers, which I absolutely love doing. It doesn’t feel like work, and I’ve signed a few deals with brands to work together next year. On the PT side, I work with clients from all over the place to create training and nutrition plans and help with their fitness goals. I’ll follow whichever avenue continues to be a success. Now I don’t find it so difficult to balance work and football. I don’t have to fit things around my job, so life is much more manageable. As a team we’re having a great season. I’d like to finish in the top four and think that’s very doable. Individually I’d like to score a few more goals, but as long as I can help the team with good performances I’m happy. What’s great about this squad is its togetherness. I knew a couple of the girls before joining, but even so it
felt like I’d been here for ages within days because everyone, players and staff, were so welcoming. We now have a smaller squad than last year, so everyone gets along really well. No one takes any disagreements to heart and whatever happens on the pitch is left there. There’s a really good feeling in the camp right now. Another real positive is our incredible support. The fans have been unreal, particularly since coming back this season. When you travel away, for example, you don’t typically expect to see travelling fans. But when we got to Blackburn recently
Individually I’d like to score a few more goals, but as long as I can help the team with good performances I’m happy
we could see the fans putting flags up, which I thought was unbelievable. We know they’ll always cheer us on and we can celebrate a one, so being able to engage with our 12th player and enjoy what’s happening at this club together is a great feeling. Beyond that, we have a lot of young girls watching us and wanting to take pictures or get autographs, which is why we do what we do: to inspire an upcoming generation. Those girls look up to us, so we want to set the bar high and push them to aim for the stars. Siobhan Wilson
