Swimming Pool Care Tips

After Heavy Rains

If rainfalls are predicted in your area then lower the level of water in your pool so the pool does not overflow due to heavy rainfall. So that the area around your pool should not get messy. Try to prepare your pool for heavy rain.

Sometimes rain comes with strong winds and allows lots of leaves to come along with. Start your pool with skimming and then vacuuming it. You can use a manual vacuum cleaner or automatic pool cleaners.

Another step is to test the water chemistry after cleaning your pool as the rainwater has its own water chemistry and the PH and alkalinity level may drop due to acid rain. So, it is better to check the water PH level. Adjust chemicals to rebalance your water.

Sanitiser is paramount to fight against the dirtiness in the swimming pool. Now, check the sanitiser or chlorine levels as rain often introduce contaminants to your swimming pool and the already present sanitiser will fight against this dirt and contaminants.

Check the pool equipment like pool lights, pool fence or pool toys as huge storm may damage your pool surface or any other equipment and maybe some issues can occur with the electricity.

The rain can add a layer of algae to your pool so brush the walls and floor thoroughly so as to remove the algae particles from the swimming pool.
