Ways To Keep Your Pool In Perfect Condition During Winter

It's very common that people ignore the maintenance of pool in winter and face many problems while cleaning the pool at the beginning of summer. To get rid of these problems, here are some tips to maintain your pool all winter.

1. Maintain Pool Water Chemistry To stop algae, you need to analyse the water professionally at the end of the swimming season. Once the pH level is balanced, you yourself can maintain the pH level of water by adjusting any chemicals.

2. Make Skimmer Box Dirt Free Winter means more leaves and debris. This can block the skimmer box system. The over-full skimmer box makes the filter motor work harder. So, clean the filters and skimmer box in every two weeks.

3. Backwash Your Pool Filter System

You need to backwash filter systems once in every two or three weeks. Also, check pipes, tubes and seals for any leakages at regular intervals.

4. Make Sure Pool Lighting System Works Properly

Don't ignore the pool lighting. Winter is the best time to check that all underwater lights are working properly to beat the darkness.

5. Oil The Timber Decking Properly Clean the timber decking with warm water using a scrub and leave it to dry out properly. With the help of decking brush, apply some oil to protect it from sunlight.

6. Clean The Waterline Tiles To clean the waterline tiles turned grey and greasy after summer, use a sponge with a little baking powder or vinegar. You can use a tooth brush to remove any tougher stains.

7. Clean The Glass Fence

Glass installed around the pool as a fence can be cleaned using some warm water, liquid soap and a sponge. Don't use cleaning products as they will leave a residue.

8. Trim The Plants

Winter means falling leaves due to high wind and drenching rain. To minimise the chaos, trim the plants that surround your pool at the start of the season.

9. Clean And Pack The Umbrella And Chairs

Clean and pack the outdoor elements like furniture, whether plastic or metal to extend their life.

10. Cover The Pool You can cover the pool if you have the professional cover. The professional cover is little larger and made of an extremely fine mesh to get rid of unwanted elements from entering the pool.
