Patients should reach out to their OB to determine whether they should come in to be seen or visit the local emergency room.
• Women in the process of labor and delivery should be seen by an MFM specialist if there are concerns about risks during birth. • If something goes wrong, they have the specialized knowledge needed to determine the right cause of action. • After delivery, the specialist can investigate any unusual events and make appropriate recommendations for recovery and/or future pregnancies.
