2016 GRADUATES: 99.3% SITUATED The CSB/SJU class of 2016 had an overall situated rate of 99.3% with 95.5% of the class responding to the First Destination survey. This response rate placed CSB at #1 and SJU at #2 for all Minnesota Private Colleges.

CONNECTING STUDENTS AND EMPLOYERS Career Services provided an array of opportunities for students to personally connect with employers on- and off-campus. This included information sessions, Connections Kick-off, Career EXPO, Career Fairs, and On-Campus Recruiting. The staff worked to engage students of all classes and majors with employers to meet the goal of students learning early about employer opportunities and expectations.

1,262 students attended career fairs in 2016-2017. Career Services partners with other MN colleges to provide several internship and job fairs for students. CSB/SJU students had access to 1,164 organizations to investigate internship and job opportunities, as well as graduate school programs.

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING
222 on-campus student interviews were conducted. Interviews were scheduled via E-link, which held 3190 additional job and internship postings for CSB/SJU students. Students also connected with employers through Information Sessions and Connections Kick-off.

STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS The Presidents of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University charged the Directors of Career Services, Academic Advising, and Experiential Learning & Community Engagement (ELCE) to develop a strategic plan built on the recommendations of the Career Services Program Review Committee. The charge included: Learning outcomes and a four-year career development curriculum for introduction to CSB and SJU students in the First Year Experience. A professional staffing model to address career counseling, employer relations, technology, career events, stakeholder engagement, assessment, and communications and marketing. An electronic student tracking system developed and supported by IT Services. Office and support staffing for a one-stop shop. One-stop shop branded and messaged via the Office of Marketing and Communications. Strengthened engagement with CSB and SJU alumni relations and volunteers. The strategic plan was delivered to the Presidents in October 2016 and steps were initiated during 2016-2017 to move the process forward including: Career Services was moved from Student Development to Academic Affairs; the announcement of the move to the campus community was made November 1, 2016. The decision to merge Career Services and Experiential Learning & Community Engagement was announced at the end of March, 2017 with the goal of a single department starting July 1, 2017.
