Scholarship Selection Committee members are volunteers who help us read and evaluate Crosby Scholarship essays to select our Class of 2025 Scholarship recipients. We rely on a large pool of volunteers to read and evaluate the over 800 scholarship applications we receive per year! We use an online platform called Submittable, which allows selection committee members to evaluate applications entirely online -- during their own time.
Submittable is an easy to use platform if you are comfortable learning new technology, or if you already use online software in your day to day work However, we do ask Selection Committee members to be tech savvy and quick learners To help you learn and get up to speed with our process, we will provide you with training and step-by-step instruction materials
Ideally, we ask for open availability throughout our scholarship review period, which will run approximately from February 10th to April 14th. We ask committee members to be able to review applications assigned to them within one to two weeks to allow us to move efficiently and meet our goal.
New Scholarship Selection Committee members must attend a short, virtual 15-minute training session to demonstrate how to use Submittable. We offer flexible training options designed to fit any schedule.
