COURSE DIRECTOR David A. Wood PhD

Dr. David Wood has more than thirty years of international oil and gas experience spanning technical and commercial exploration and production operations, midstream and downstream projects, contract evaluation and senior corporate management. His early experience includes Phillips Petroleum, Amoco (Africa, Europe and UK), Lundin Oil (South America, Africa, Middle and Far East) and several smaller international companies. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, David was based for three years in Colombia, four years in Dubai and seven years in the UK as Managing Director (Candecca Resources Limited / Morrison Middlefield) for a portfolio of North Sea and onshore UK oil and gas assets. That role involved responsibility for the operation of several producing oil and gas fields, a staff of more than 100, 3D seismic acquisition, drilling of 35 horizontal wells and extensive asset and corporate acquisition and divestment activity. For the past decade he has worked as an independent international consultant, training provider and expert witness. He has published an extensive body of work on diverse energy topics including: international energy markets, performance modelling of fiscal designs, petroleum economics and risk analysis, sustainability and renewable energy, enterprise risk and portfolio management, LNG, GTL, gas storage and supply, deepwater exploration and production techniques, corporate performance, energy strategy, geopolitics, mergers and acquisitions, negotiations and project management David is also actively involved in a range of professional training, research, publication and development programmes and is the assistant editor-in-chief of the Journal of Natural Gas Science & Engineering.

PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION POLICY You may cancel your place on the Course by giving notice in writing to the Course Administrator up to (and including) 7 days from the date IBCA confirms your acceptance to the Course in accordance with Condition 1 and you will not be liable for the payment of any fees and any fees already paid to IBCA for the Course will be refunded. If IBCA receives your notice of cancellation 8 days or more from the date IBCA has confirmed your acceptance to the Course you will still receive a refund of your fees already paid to IBCA, subject to payment by you to IBCA of a £175 cancellation fee to cover administrative costs (which shall be payable immediately upon your cancellation), provided such notice of cancellation is received by IBCA before the first day of the Course.
