Justice Center Contact: Martha Plotkin: (240) 482-8579 mplotkin@csg.org February 26, 2010 Suzanne Brown-McBride Named Deputy Director of CSG Justice Center The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center is pleased to announce that Suzanne Brown-McBride will join the organization as its deputy director on March 1, 2010. In her new position, Ms. Brown-McBride will manage the CSG Justice Center’s operations and oversee its projects, including the Criminal Justice/Mental Health Consensus Project, the Reentry Policy Council, and the Justice Reinvestment Initiative. She will also work on new areas for potential Justice Center involvement and maintain the organization’s strong commitment to partnerships and bipartisan, data-driven approaches. Ms. Brown-McBride comes to the CSG Justice Center after serving in several leadership positions in nonprofit associations, including directing the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs. Since 2006, she has been the executive director of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA). Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger also appointed her chair of the state’s Sex Offender Management Board. "Suzanne is a national leader who has achieved tremendous success working on complex, highly charged criminal justice issues," said New York Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry, chair of the Justice Center’s board of directors. "She has earned accolades from her governor, legislators, judges, public safety officials, and victim advocates alike. Her extensive management experience and expertise on criminal justice and victims issues make her an extraordinary asset to the CSG Justice Center."
