The Cars Land Event
CARS LAND EVENT C S O M F
C S O M F
Get our kicks on Route 66? Yes please! The Wednesday late night event gave our 2020 CSMFO conference attendees a once-in-alifetime opportunity to have a private experience in Disney’s Cars Land inside of California Adventure. The event had opportunities for everyone. If you wanted to scream and dance your heart out; we had a place for you. If you wanted to sit down and have a meaningful conversation with a colleague about municipal finance; CSMFO had you covered! And don’t forget the rides! Nothing like riding Radiator Springs Racers at midnight with 1200 friends! HONK if you love CSMFO!
CSMFO Onsite Staff Reflects What were you most looking forward to? What is your favorite memory from the 2020 Conference?
Melissa MANCHESTER Executive Director
Attending the CSMFO Annual Conference is like going to a family reunion.
Dozens and dozens of friends that I only see once a year, all coming together in one spot. I look forward to this week all year long, and it never disappoints. Hearing Steve Gross speak again. You can read all about that experience in my message in this magazine. Outside of that--we set up a
VIP reception at the Lamplighter Lounge on Wednesday night prior to the Cars Land event. I will never forget watching World of Color from the lower level overlooking the water!
David Blue Garrison Creative Director
Seeing all the graphic design and branding in person! Rebecca Ryan had a big impact on me. She really nailed the possibility of tomorrow. The Cars Land event! Goofy sauntering up to the registration desk and scaring the heck out of
Amanda Rae Smith.

I always look forward to the President’s Dinner and Late Night Event, but being at the most magical place on Earth made it that much more exciting! Marisa Anticevich

Harriet Commons Program Coordinator
Seeing people I don’t normally see during the year, and having the program come together. Quality time with longtime friends (I’ve been attending CSMFO conferences since the 1980s), and getting to know new friends better. Set up day, where staff and CSMFO volunteers help prepare all of the conference bags. It’s the first time we get to see some staff and members, and you can tell everyone is excited to kick off the week! Staff made it fun by playing music, which lead to some singing!

Meeting everyone who makes up CSMFO.
Reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones is one of the best parts of the
CSMFO conference.
Seeing familiar faces! I miss my CSMFO friends! Riding the Cars rides with Will Fuentes and Stephen Parker! Checking in more attendees then we had total for the 2019 conference... within the first 4 hours of registration being open. I was looking forward to seeing the CSMFO members that I only see once a year, like Bob Biery! My favorite memory is seeing that general session room filled to capacity. I loved our staging in there!
Teri Anticevich Conference Director
Janet Salvetti Conference Director
I looked forward to seeing if we could actually fill all those seats in the general session.....and we did!
Spending some one on one time with Harriet Commons. We spend alot of time on emails and calls prior to the conference and had promised each other to get together after sessions one day; and we did!
