Gold: An Enduring Collectible U.S. Gold has never been more beautiful
a
Collectible
Gold Coins
The United States Mint produced its first gold coins in 1795. Over the next 139 years, the mint produced a variety of gold coins across six different denominations—from the smallest weighing in at a little over 1 gram, to the largest $20 gold pieces containing almost a full ounce of gold. Production of gold coins for circulation ended in 1933 when Pres. Roosevelt recalled all gold coins back to the Federal Reserve Bank. Amazingly, exquisite examples of these incredible coins are still available—just call CSN! a. St.
Gaudens $20 Double Eagle
United States coinage has never been more beautiful than it was in the early years of the 20th century. The Buffalo nickel . . . the Mercury dime . . . the Standing Liberty quarter . . . the Walking Liberty half dollar—these were among the aesthetically stunning coins that made their first appearance and circulated side by side during that period. Fittingly, however, the centerpiece of this “golden age” wasn’t a nickel or silver coin, but one made out of gold. The Saint-Gaudens double eagle, or $20 gold piece, stands above the rest as the single most magnificent coin of this—or any—era in U.S. history.
“”
ALL THE GOLD MINED SINCE THE DAWN of civilization would fit into a 20m x 20m x20m cube!
93m
20m
This stunning coin resulted from a truly unique relationship between two towering figures of their day: Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the most famous American sculptor at the turn of the 20th century, and Theodore Roosevelt, a U.S. president whose ardent pursuit of excellence encompassed the nation’s coinage. The double eagle’s obverse features a full-length portrait of Liberty grasping a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. She is shown in full stride with rays of sunlight behind her, the word LIBERTY above her and the U. S. Capitol Building to the left of her flowing gown. Encircling her are 46 stars—one for each state in the Union at that time. The designer’s monogram (ASG) appears below the date. The coin’s reverse depicts a breathtaking eagle in flight—perhaps the most spectacular likeness of the nation’s official emblem ever to grace a U. S. coin or medal. Below this magnificent bird is the sun with its rays extending upward; above it, in two semicircular tiers, are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and TWENTY DOLLARS. Head $20 Double Eagle
Type 1 (1850-1866) America’s largest circulating gold coin was the double eagle or $20 piece, born in the exciting years of the great California Gold Rush. The new mines yielded the greatest mass of gold in recorded history. Vast quantities of the yellow metal helped to speed development of the American West and had far-reaching effects on the world’s coinage. The Type 1 (or No Motto) double eagles were struck at the Philadelphia Mint every year from 1850 through 1865, at New Orleans from 1850 through 1861, and at San Francisco from 1854 through 1866. The San Francisco coins of 1866 were the last of the design, and were also issued as part of the Type 2 series, with the new motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Please call for best price.
c c. Indian
Head $10 Eagle
The portrait of Liberty seen on coins of this type originally was designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens as a bust of Nike used on New York City’s monument to General William T. Sherman. At the request of President Theodore Roosevelt, Saint-Gaudens adapted this splendid bust for the ten-dollar piece with the addition of a Native American headdress. Regular issue coins were struck at all three Mints (P,D,S) from 1908 through 1911, and 1914; Only Philadelphia and San Francisco struck eagles in 1912, 1913 and 1915, and only San Francisco struck them in 1916 and 1920. Please call for best price.

In January 1914, with Europe on the brink of war and the United States in the throes of a depression, Henry Ford initiated “the greatest revolution in the matter of rewards for its workers ever known to the industrial world.” He doubled his workers’ pay from $2.34 per day to a princely $5 and reduced their nine-hour workday to eight hours. The half eagle—or $5 gold piece—suddenly became a coin of considerable clout. Even though it was only slightly larger than the then brand-new “Buffalo” nickel, it represented a full day’s pay— enough to buy a pair of trousers plus a pair of work boots. These Indian Head gold pieces are unlike any other coins produced before or since by Uncle Sam: their designs and inscriptions are sunken below the surface of the coins, rather than being raised. Please call for best price.
e e. Liberty
Head $5
The $5 gold half eagle was familiar in American economic life. It had been in constant use since the early days of the Republic and was one of the longest lasting denominations in United States history. Half eagles would go on to see almost continuous production from 1795 to 1929, and throughout their life, they would not only be used in trade, but—in preference to almost any other gold coin—would popularly be found in Christmas stockings! The obverse design features Liberty’s hair tied in a bun and secured by a string of beads. She wears a coronet in her hair inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Please call for best price.

a a. Indian
Head $2½
The Indian Head quarter eagle and its larger companion, the half eagle, stand out from all the rest of United States coinage because their designs and lettering are sunken in a plane that is uniformly flat. The highest points of relief are level with the coins’ fields, and they have no raised rims to protect them from wear. Indian Head quarter eagles were issued annually from 1908 through 1915. At that point, the Mint suspended their production for a decade; when it resumed in 1925, the coins were struck for five more years before the series ended in 1929—one of many victims of that year’s Stock Market crash. Please call for best price.
b b. Liberty
Head $2½
When the first “Coronet” quarter eagle coins were struck in 1840, much of the United States was still a rough and tumble frontier that valued hard cider and log cabins, and the country’s leader was the coarse old Indian fighter, William Henry Harrison. As the final Coronet quarter eagles were struck in 1907, America was in many ways a different country than it had been in 1840. It retained the rugged individualism that had characterized the national spirit throughout the 19th century, but it was a more mature America, heralded not only for its powerful economic and military presence throughout the world, but for its diplomatic achievements as well. Please call for best price.

c. Type
III Indian Princess Head $1
When it made its first appearance in 1849, the $1 gold coin was a mere thirteen millimeters in diameter—more than one-fourth smaller than our present-day Roosevelt dime! Many Americans grumbled that because it was so tiny, they had trouble keeping track of it. And losing a dollar was no small matter back in the mid-19th century; for many it represented a day’s pay. By 1854, the mint had increased the diameter of the coins to 15 millimeters, yielding a “Type II” coin that was noticeably larger, considerably thinner and, presumably, less likely to get lost. But the relief features of the Type II were too high and wore quickly. In 1856, the mint created the Type III $1 coin with a larger, flatter portrait. These coins feature a female figure commonly described as an “Indian Princess”. Please call for best price.
d d. Type
I Liberty Head $1
The gold dollar took its place in the U.S. coinage lineup in 1849, and the California gold rush provided the spark. During their six years of production, Type 1 gold dollars were struck at five different mints— Philadelphia (no mint mark), Charlotte (C), Dahlonega (D), New Orleans (O) and San Francisco (S)—but only the Philadelphia and Dahlonega mints issued them every year. San Francisco made them only in 1854, while Charlotte and New Orleans made them every year except 1854. Please call for best price.

Modern Issue Gold 4-Piece Gold Eagle Set Certified by ANACS Considering the rising price of gold over the years, adding a complete set of Certified MS70 Gold Eagles to your holdings right now could be a wise move. The pristine quality and sharp strikes of these coins are highly valued by collectors. Minted to exacting standards, the obverse design is inspired by what is often considered one of America’s most beautiful coins: Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ celebrated $20 gold piece, minted from 1907-1933. Gold Buffalos In 2006, the United States Mint introduced the American Gold Buffalo as its first 24kt gold bullion coin. This was the first time ever that the U.S. Government had minted pure (.9999) 24kt gold coins for the public. These coins are designed after the famous 1913 Type 1 Buffalo Nickel created by James Earle Fraser. The obverse of this gold coin shows the well-known Indian Head, and the reverse features the classic buffalo design as well as inscriptions of the weight, denomination, and gold content. Silver Eagles
First released in 1986, the American Silver Eagle coin is the world’s only silver bullion coin whose weight, content, and purity is guaranteed by the government of the United States. The obverse of the Silver Eagle coin depicts the same design used on half dollar coins issued from 1916 to 1947—the famous “Walking Liberty” design created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman—an image that is one of the most cherished and wellknown designs ever to grace a coin. The reverse of the American Silver Eagle coin is just as impressive as the obverse; featuring an American eagle, the very symbol of our nation’s freedom, patriotism and national pride.
“
I RECEIVED MY FIRST SILVER EAGLE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FROM MY HUSBAND IN 1986. I WASN’T INTO COLLECTING COINS, BUT he has given me one every Christmas since and quite frankly, now I’m fascinated with them. They are beautiful to look at and I look forward to my next gift all year. Plus, how many gifts that you get from your husband that might actually get more valuable the longer you own them!
”
Jaclyn M.—Blaine County, Montana
The obverse design was originally used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar 1916-1947

To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the American Eagle Silver Coin Program, the United States Mint released a limited-edition set of five one-ounce American Eagle Silver Coins. This special American Eagle Silver Five-Coin Set is an exquisite collection that captures the essence and beauty of these cherished coins—in stunning proof, reverse proof, uncirculated and bullion coins minted by the United States Mint facilities at West Point, San Francisco and Philadelphia. The reverse proof and the San Francisco coins are unique to the set, and with a mintage of 100,000, they are the second-lowest mintage Silver Eagle coins ever produced after the 1995 (W) Proof-only Silver Eagle. The 1995 coin was only available to collectors who purchased a five-coin set with four American Gold Eagle Coins and the Proof Silver Eagle, so this is a similar rare opportunity! 2011 Silver Eagle 25th Anniversary Set OGP . . . 22501 | $1,249.95 ANACS Certified 69 Set . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 22505 | $1,399.95 ANACS Certified 70 Set . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 22506 | $2,799.95 Call your favorite CSN Mint representative for additional 25TH Anniversary sets!

This special two-coin, 2013 West Point minted American Silver Eagle set includes two firsts for the popular series: the very first “Enhanced Uncirculated” Silver Eagle, and the first “Reverse Proof” Silver Eagle to bear the West Point (W) mint mark. The two-coin set was issued to mark the West Point Mint’s 75th anniversary as a Mint facility. The “Enhanced Uncirculated” coin is extraordinary. Half of the stripes in the flag and the blue field of the flag draped around the Walking Liberty design are struck with a mirror proof finish, while the remaining raised devices are frosted like a proof coin. The entire field of the coin has a satin, uncirculated appearance. The “Reverse Proof” coin completes the full mint mark ensemble of Silver Eagle mints in Reverse Proof (2006 -P and 2011 -P, 2012 -S, and now 2013 -W). It features mirror-proof raised surface and satin frosted “proof-like” fields similar to its predecessors. Original Government Packaging . . . 25085 | $199.95

Hard to Find Classic Silver Coins Millions Were Minted but Most Were Melted for Their Precious Silver
a
Classic
Silver Coins
Large, heavy, handsome, historic and struck in .900 fine silver, the legendary silver dollar has been appropriately nicknamed the “King of America’s Coins”! Minted when the nation was still young and life was indeed a daily adventure...a time of gunslingers, cattle barons, riverboat gamblers, railroad tycoons and dancehall queens. And a time when money meant large, hefty silver dollars, not credit cards and checkbooks! Millions of these coins were struck, but most were melted for their precious silver!
“”
THE SILVER DOLLAR’S DOLLAR’S STORY IS A CINDERELLA TALE: UNTIL THE 1960S, THEY WERE LARGELY IGNORED by the coin-collecting public. Since then, they have gradually become among the most widely pursued and desired of all U.S. coins.

Binion Prestige Peace Dollars
Ted Binion was an eccentric, wealthy U.S. gambling executive and part of Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas. When he died in 1998, a huge hoard of silver coins was found in a secret vault buried 12-feet deep on his Nevada property. These 1923 Prestige Peace Dollars are certified by NGC to have come from the “Binion Silver Hoard” and are graded MS65. The slabs are numbered and only 715 were graded. Morgan Dollar NGC MS63
The Morgan Dollar is considered by many to be the “True” coin of the fabled Wild West. Made out of nearly 1 full ounce of .900 pure silver from the famous Comstock Lode silver discovery, These Morgan dollars were struck at the New Orleans Mint—the only Mint in the southern U.S.—and they bear the “O” mint mark. The New Orleans Mint produced less than 25% of all Morgan dollars issued. These coins are from the last year of production in New Orleans and certified MS63 by NGC! 25479 | $99.95
c c. Morgan
Dollar MS63 (NGC or PCGS)
More than half a billion Morgan dollars were struck from 1878 through 1904, with production taking place at the main mint in Philadelphia and the branches in New Orleans, San Francisco and Carson City. In all, some 657 million Morgan dollars were produced in 96 different date-and-mint combinations. Hundreds of millions were melted over the years—by the government under the Pittman Act and the Silver Act of 1942, and by private refiners since the late 1960s. This could be your last chance to grab one of the few remaining Morgans graded and certified MS63 condition from NGC or PCGS! 030112 | $89.95

1921 Morgan Dollar BU
Massive quantities of silver from the Comstock Lode in Nevada, and political pressure from silver mining interests brought Morgan Dollars into existence. Between 1878 and 1921 millions of these coins were produced featuring an iconic obverse designed by George T Morgan, an assistant to the U.S. Mint’s Chief Engraver William Barber. The majority of these coins were melted long ago for their precious metal and finding coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition makes for a “can’t-miss” collectible! 030153 | $64.95

Morgan Dollar with Bonus Peace Dollar—Fine or Better Despite minimal demand from the public, plus the fact that millions had been melted under the Pittman Act, production of Morgan Dollars cranked up once again on May 9,1921. Coincidentally, on the very same day, legislation was introduced in Congress calling for the issuance of a new silver dollar marking the postwar peace of WWI. This new coin would ultimately become the PEACE Dollar. This set includes one each of these spectacular “cartwheel” silver dollars—each in fine or better condition! 030137 | $59.95

Peace Dollars The first and only U.S. coin to display the word “PEACE”, the Peace Dollar was introduced in 1921 as the successor to the popular Morgan Dollar series. The new design was created to commemorate the restoration of peace following the conclusion of World War I—“the war to end all wars”. A rendering of Liberty is on the obverse, while the reverse shows a bald eagle in front of sun rays. These were the last large silver dollars minted for circulation and production ceased after 1935. Baseball and Coin Collecting Two of America’s favorite pastimes! Celebrate 75 Years of the Hall of Fame In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the U.S. Mint has released a coin unlike any it’s ever made. Instead of being flat, it is shaped something like a bowl, with a convex surface that calls to mind a ball—a baseball, to be precise. It is the first curved coin issued in the mint’s history. This amazing coin bears the baseball image on the reverse, and the obverse shows a baseball glove, gently curving inward. It’s a clever marriage of form and content. The convex and concave sides lend the ball and the mitt a measure of three-dimensional realism, and together represent the most basic elements of the game, whether played in the backyard, local ballpark, or major-league stadium. The coins are stuck in both proof and uncirculated editions, and are available as $5 gold coins, $1 silver coins, and half-dollar clads. Please call for best price.
National Baseball Hall of Fame Young Collectors Set A terrific set for the young collector! You get a top-quality, tri-fold presentation folder with a 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Uncirculated Half-Dollar coin in a special rotating capsule. Act Fast—These Certified PR70 First Strike Proof Quarter Sets Sell Out Quickly! Artwork for each America the Beautiful Quarter is first digitally mastered in 3D to capture the beauty of America’s natural parks and historic landmarks. The artwork is then passed on to the San Francisco Mint, the exclusive minting facility for proof-quality coins. The mint produces a limited number of these proofs, where each coin is double struck for crisp relief providing a level of detail not found on typical circulating coinage. Roughly 1 in 1000 of these proofs achieves the flawless grade of PR70. Even fewer qualify for the designation of Deep Cameo (DCAM). Each coin in these sets is individually encapsulated and certified PR70 DCAM by ANACS. Available as a Clad Proof Set and Silver Proof Set. ®
Collection includes deluxe display box
“
IN A WORD, WOW! THE DETAILS OF EACH PROOF COIN are so crisp
and clear...I didn’t know that this level of finish was even possible. I can actually see my reflection on the surface of the coin...It’s like a little mirror!

Silver Proof Quarter Sets The ultimate edition of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program! Never touched by human hands and specially minted to deliver incredible detail with mirror-like backgrounds, each coin is a masterpiece struck in 90% SILVER. ®
Proofs are collector versions of the highest quality. They are produced exclusively at the United States Mint in San Francisco and feature the distinguishing “S” mint mark. These sets sell out quickly at the U.S. Mint and are typically minted in quantities of fewer than a million a year. America the Beautiful Quarters already represent one of the lowest production levels of a U.S. Mint coin series in decades—that makes these silver proofs very rare, and very collectible. ®

Journey Across America With Quarter Mania! Each coin in the America the Beautiful Quarters series honors the natural beauty, landscape and wildlife of 56 of our country’s most important parks, forests and historic sites. And with America’s passion for coin collecting at an all time high, this historic series has already spurred unprecedented demand. The fact that America the Beautiful Quarters represent one of the lowest mintages in decades—more than 10-times rarer than the 50 State Quarters—makes these coins ultra-collectible! Adding to the scarcity is the fact that each of the 56 different designs in the program will be minted for 10 weeks—and 10 weeks only—then never again! ®
®
QUARTER MANIA guarantees you’ll receive all 56 different coins! Here’s How Quarter Mania Starts: You’ll receive these four versions of America the Beautiful Quarters from 2010: ®
• Each America the Beautiful Quarter from the Philadelphia Mint and the Denver Mint in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. • Each America the Beautiful Quarter design layered in 24kt gold! • Each America the Beautiful Quarter design layered in the most precious of metals—platinum! ®
®
®
And That’s Just the Beginning... Through 2021, you’ll continue to receive a new, complete set of America the Beautiful Quarters —20 coins each year— released in the same order as the coins are released from the U.S. Mint, for only $29.95 per year plus shipping. ®
Best of all...the price is guaranteed! Your price will never change, regardless of how scarce or valuable these coins become! To make things even easier, you will never be charged until your new quarters have shipped, and you may cancel at any time. 2010 Quarter Mania . . . . . . . . . 20691 | $29.95 Continuity Program 2011 -Forward . 21204 | $29.95/year
Clad Proof Quarter Sets These special-edition America the Beautiful Quarters are real currency and are one of the highest quality coins produced by the U.S. Mint. These proof collector versions are specially minted to deliver the ultimate in detail with a mirror-like background. ®
Proof coins represent only a fraction of the total coins manufactured each year…add to that the fact that the America the Beautiful Quarters represent one of the lowest production levels of a U.S. Mint coin in decades and what you have is a sure-fire collectible; one that you’ll treasure for years to come. Don't hesitate, this could be your only chance to obtain the complete series! ®

American Mint Sets Made Exclusively for Collectors Since 1947, the United States Mint has created annual sets of uncirculated coins for collectors known as Mint Sets. These popular sets provide collectors with one example of each coin issued for circulation. Amidst a few interruptions and several changes in format, this popular offering for collectors continues to the present day. Some sets are particularly noteworthy since they contain coins not issued for circulation. This includes the 1970 Mint Set, which includes the 1970 -D Kennedy Half, and later sets issued in 1973 and 1981 that include non-circulating dollar coins. The 1996 Mint Set included the 1996 -W Roosevelt Dime struck at the West Point Mint—a coin found only in the sets for the 50th anniversary of the coin series. From 2005 to present, the United States Mint has used a special satin finish for coins included in the annual Mint Set. Along with particularly low mintage, this adds another unique aspect to the sets.

D-Day: The Greatest Battle of All Time—6-Coin Set If December 7, 1941, is a day that lives in infamy, then June 6, 1944 is the glorious opposite: D-Day, the date of the invasion of Normandy, the turning point in the Second World War. This remarkable collection features World War II coins from the six countries involved in the Normandy invasion: Great Britain, The United States, Canada, France, Belgium and Germany. 12438 | $39.95
b. Nazi
German Reichspfennig Coins with Swastika During the Second World War, the German war machine, like the rest of the world’s combatants, was conserving strategic metals for the war effort. This led to the rationing of certain metals that were traditionally used for coins. Prior to 1940, Germany minted the Reichspfennig coins in a bronze alloy that contained mostly copper. Later as the war expanded with Germany fighting on three fronts in Western Europe, Russia, and Africa, coins were struck in zinc to conserve the precious copper for arms. 16933 | $16.95

Russian Silver 4 Coin “Death Sentence” Set The economic depression of the 1930s affected the Soviet Union no less than the rest of the world. Even though the Soviet government stopped striking Silver coins in the late 1920s, dictator Joseph Stalin blamed the Finance Ministry for the Country’s financial state, and in his typical fashion had many people in the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank killed. This set (known as Stalin’s Death Sentence Coins) contains 2 Silver coins of Czarist Russia, and 2 Silver Soviet issued coins. 26788 | $119.95

War II Hawaiian Silver Certificates
A rare piece of history from World War II! After the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. printed emergency currency for citizens and military personnel in Hawaii and the Pacific. Designed to be easily demonetized if a large quantity fell into enemy hands, the notes feature the word “HAWAII” on both sides, and a brown seal instead of the traditional blue seal found on Silver Certificates. These bills were issued only from July 1942 to October 1944—so our supply is limited!

Azes II Drachm & Widow’s Mite
Struck by hand over 2,000 years ago in ancient Judea, the Widow’s Mite is mentioned in the Bible. It was the smallest coin in use between 100 B.C. and 60 A.D. The solid Silver Drachm, minted during the dynasty of Azes II from 35 B.C. to 5 A.D., was a rare witness to the birth of Christianity. These two ancient coins come to you gift boxed with a Certificate of Authenticity. 7083 | $79.95
c. The
Vatican City Collection
Born Karol Jósef Wojtyła in Wadowice, Poland, in 1920, John Paul II was elected Pope in 1978, becoming the first non-Italian to assume the Papacy since Adrian VI in 1522, and the first man of letters since Pius II in 1458. On 27 April, 2014, he became just the second pope to enter the sainthood in 300 years. Selected for their beauty and their religious significance, these three coins were struck by the Rome mint for the Vatican City State during the tenure of Saint John Paul II. 26787 | $74.95

Coins from History’s Greatest Holy Wars
They found their spiritual calling relatively late in life, and quickly developed a large following. They preached on the virtues of monotheism, generosity toward the poor and others in need, and kindness toward others. These descriptions apply to both Jesus and Muhammad, who had much more in common than is widely assumed. Given the similarity of their message, it is both ironic and tragic that Christians and Muslims have been at war almost constantly since 610 CE, when Muhammad began his ministry in Mecca. This remarkable collection is a numismatic history of eight pivotal Holy Wars between the Muslims and the Christians. 26786 | $299.95

WWII Hawaii $1 Emergency Note, XF
1899 $1 Silver Certificate (Black Eagle), Very Fine
1923 $1 Silver Certificate, Very Fine
Printed for use in Hawaii after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, this Series 1935A $1 Silver Certificate has black overprints of Hawaii running vertically at the left and right portions of the face, as well as prominently across the back.
This 1899 $1 Black Eagle Silver Certificate prominently displays an eagle with his wings spread, printed in black ink on the obverse. This is the only piece of U.S. currency ever issued which displays the portraits of 2 different presidents—Lincoln and Grant—two giants of 19th century American history.
Silver Certificates once represented a key United States currency form and were backed by actual silver in the Federal Reserve. These notes were the first and only large-size notes with a standardized design for different types of the same denomination; this same concept would later be used on small-size notes.

1917 $1 Legal Tender Note, Very Fine
1907 $5 Legal Tender Note (Woodchoppers), Fine
1914 $5 Federal Reserve Note
The last large-sized legal tender bank note ever issued and referred to as a “Horseblanket” note. The obverse features Washington and a vignette of Columbus sighting America. The reverse shows a “sawhorse” design.
The last $5 “Horse Blanket” note, so named because of its large size. One of the most popular currency issues of all time. The intricately engraved vignette of “the Woodchopper” is the central feature of the note, which also shows an engraving of Andrew Jackson.
This note features Lincoln and two intricately engraved vignettes. One shows Columbus discovering America, the other the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock. 99.84% of all the Federal Reserve notes issued were redeemed, and that leaves only a small number of remaining notes for collectors.

1934 $500 Note, Fine In 1934, $500 and $1,000 bills were the largest denomination Federal Reserve Notes in circulation. They were used primarily for bank-to-bank transactions, and when they were withdrawn from circulation years ago, most were destroyed, making them very hard to find today. The $500 Note features William McKinley. 26013 | $1,600.00
1863 Confederate States of America $20 PCGS 64PPQ
1914 $20 Federal Reserve Note, Fine
Confederate States of America dollars were first issued just before the outbreak of the American Civil War by the newly formed Confederacy. They were not backed by hard assets, but simply by a promise to pay the bearer after the war, on the prospect of Southern victory and independence.
This scarce and seldom-seen note is a great start or addition to any currency collection. The front features Grover Cleveland. The vignettes on the reverse capture the power of steam transportation, the locomotive and steamship, which ruled the world at the time. 24438 | $189.95

1914 $10 Federal Reserve Note, Fine+
1935 or 1963 $2 Red Seal Note, VG/VF
1935 or 1957 $1 Silver Certificate, VG/VF
This classic note is rarely seen and makes a great addition to any collection. The reverse features farming and industry and symbolizes American power and ingenuity. Includes a bold, blue Federal Reserve Bank seal on the front. These are part of the last series of large—size “Horseblanket” notes.
One of the most interesting types of U.S. money in circulation, Red Seal notes were backed only by the credit of the U.S. government, despite that fact that they were issued at a time when money was redeemable for gold or silver. These notes had a red treasury seal and red serial numbers. Red Seal notes were issued in $1, $2, $5 and $100 denominations.
A silver certificate is a type of U.S. paper money that was redeemable in silver. These notes, issued between 1928 and 1963, were printed in denominations of $1, $5 and $10. They are easy to spot because they have distinctive blue Treasury seals and blue serial numbers, which is why collectors often call them “blue seal notes” or “blue seals.”

This coin was the last half dollar minted in .900 pure silver during its entire run from 1948-1963. It’s the first circulating coin to feature a real person other than a U.S. President—Founding Father Benjamin Franklin. The reverse features the Liberty Bell. This Franklin half dollar was shortlived and disappeared to make way for the 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar. Ten Coin Set . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 22460 | $199.95
d. Kennedy
Half Dollars
The Kennedy half dollar, first minted in 1964, is the only fifty cent coin issued by the United States Mint. Intended as a memorial to the assassinated President John F. Kennedy, it was authorized by Congress just over a month after his death. Despite the fact that these coins are still being struck, their circulation is extremely limited. Liberty Quarters
These coins were struck by the U.S. Mint from 1916 to 1930 in .900 silver. The original design of the coin was the subject of some controversy. The design was modified in 1917 to cover Liberty’s exposed breast, and the reverse received a new arrangement of the stars, with the eagle moved higher. In 1925 the design was altered again when a depression was made in the pedestal on which Liberty stands and that bears the date. Ten Coin Set . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 22461 | $199.95

Introduce Someone to the Hobby of Kings— Coin Collecting! a. Barber Dimes Barber or Liberty Head dimes were minted between 1892 and 1916 and are composed of .900 silver. They were designed by Charles E. Barber, Chief Engraver of the Mint, who also designed the twenty, five, and fifty-cent pieces. His initial B is at the end of the neck of the image of Liberty on the obverse. The dime featured a wreath of American agricultural products with the words “ONE DIME” in the center. b. Mercury
Dimes
Although this coin is commonly called the “Mercury” dime, it is in fact the Winged Liberty Head dime and the figure on the obverse is a representation of Liberty. These coins have not been produced in over 60 years, and are harder to find with each passing day! Minted between 1916 and 1945, the wings crowning her cap are intended to symbolize the liberty of thought.

Dimes
Following his death in 1945, the dime was chosen to honor Franklin D Roosevelt. The dime honored Roosevelt partly due to his efforts in the founding of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis (later renamed the March of Dimes) and through 1964 the dimes were struck in .900 silver. Nickels
Also known as the “Indian head” nickel, this coin is a copper nickel five cent piece struck by the U.S. Mint from 1913 to 1938. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser. The image on the obverse of the coin is actually a composite of several Native Americans, and the bison on the reverse of the coin is rumored to have been modeled after Black Diamond, a resident of the Central Park Zoo in the early 1900’s.

e. Steel
Pennies
During WWII, the U.S. Government melted many coins for their use in the war effort, and this temporarily changed the way coins were minted. In 1943, the penny was made out of steel rather than copper. Each of these “steelies” feature a profile of President Abraham Lincoln on the obverse, and the legendary “wheat ears” design on the reverse. Coins are in average circulated condition. 3-Penny Set
The year 1909 takes a unique place in U.S. coin history; it is the first and only time that three different coinage designs were minted and released into circulation. With this set you get the last of an era: the 1909 Indian Head Cent, the coin that caused a public furor: the 1909 VDB Lincoln Cent with coin designer Victor David Brenner’s prominent initials, and the 1909 Lincoln Cent with the VDB initials removed.

U.S. Coppers
Cents and half cents were the first coins struck for circulation under the authority of the U.S. Government. These rare coins are coveted by collectors and this is a rare opportunity to own a beautiful specimen guaranteed to be over 145 years old.

U.S. Cent Collection
Own these rare U.S. coins from the 1800’s! One of the first coins struck at the U.S. Mint was the Large Cent in 1793. The Two Cent coin is an unusual denomination that first appeared in 1864, during a period of coin shortages caused by the Civil War. The Three Cent coins first appeared in 1851 to facilitate the purchase of postage, which at the time cost 3 Cents. A great collection! 14895 | $119.95
