A WELCOME FROM DR. RANDALL GOLDBERG
It is our mission, and the mission of our entire College of the Arts, to provide an environment that encourages individual achievement and artistic expression. Music is key to what makes us human—an expression of our creative beings. In the School of Music, we daily and collectively engage our creative humanity as performers, composers, researchers, teachers, and students. Together, we collaborate, inspire, discover, refect, mentor, innovate, and create.
The faculty and students in the School of Music share a deep passion for and common desire to achieve excellence in music. The school ofers a wide spectrum of degree programs and options with an overall emphasis in musical performance. The curriculum provides comprehensive preparation for careers in music, music education, or further graduate study, and is designed to provide a balanced education in the many facets of musical experience. Artist-teachers ofer instruction in all aspects of performance; practicing composers and theorists teach courses in theory and composition; active musicologists provide instruction in history and literature; and specialists in music education teach the courses in that feld. It is the goal of the department to develop each student’s musical and intellectual potential to the highest level of individual capability. California State University, Fullerton has been fully and continuously accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1966.
Sincerely,
DR. RANDALL GOLDBERG Director, School of Music

PROGRAM
Rapidly achieving international recognition as one of the leading guitar ensembles of the new generation, the Salzburg Guitar Trio engages its audiences with their energetic presence and deeply emotional performances. Their unique repertoire includes newly commissioned works for guitar trio and transcriptions of orchestral and keyboard works by the fnest composers.
Salzburg Guitar Trio has performed extensively throughout Europe. Recent highlights include a televised concert at the “Garrigues Guitar Festival,” a tour of the northwestern provinces of Spain, and concerts in music festivals such as the “Costa Dourada Music Festival,” “Guitar Festival ‘Ciutat D’Elx,” “Valle dei Laghi International Guitar Festival,” and the “Stuttgart International Classic Guitar Festival.”
One of the trio’s most exciting projects was their time spent as artists in residence based in Gaudi’s famous modernist building, “La Pedrera,” in Barcelona. During the residency, Catalan composer Jose Galeote dedicated his work “La Pedrera - En Construcció” to the trio. Inspired by Gaudi’s remarkable architecture, the trio had the pleasure of premiering the work inside La Pedrera.
The trio has won frst prizes at the Ciutat d Elx Guitar Festival in Spain, the “Corelli-Savarez Chamber Music Competition” in Salzburg; “Valle dei Laghi Guitar Festival” in Italy; and most recently with the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Ensemble Competition in 2021. At “Gorizia Guitar Competition” and “Paganini Guitar Festival’ in Parma, Italy, the ensemble received second and third prizes respectively.
