Director’s Foreword The Alumni Exhibition at California State University, Stanislaus gives a glimpse of the last 50 years of alumni art. The Department of Art has been fortunate to have incredible artists come from its ranks. I am very pleased to be able to exhibit this work for others to enjoy. Many colleagues have been instrumental in presenting this exhibition. I would like to thank the Alumni for the privilege of exhibiting their work, College of the Arts, California State University, Stanislaus for the wonderful catalog design and Claremont Print and Copy for their expertise in printing this catalog. A great thanks is extended to the Instructionally Related Activities Program of California State University, Stanislaus as well as anonymous donors for the funding of the exhibition and catalogue. Their support is greatly appreciated.

Introduction The introduction of an alumni exhibition is an exciting and important development in our calendar. This exhibition will now feature in the University Art Gallery every second year. For current students this offers an excellent opportunity to see the diverse and high quality work our graduates go on to produce. It also gives our own students an important insight into life after graduation, and the chance to talk to alumni and compare their experiences. Faculty in the department relish this opportunity to gauge the long-term benefits of their teaching. The reception of the exhibition, which marks its opening, is a highly enjoyable evening when alumni and faculty are able to re-unite and hear news regarding their careers and artwork as well as more general topics. In the Department of Art we are committed to inviting alumni back to events such as this evening so they may continue to feel an important part of the Department and University. Gordon Senior Chair, Department of Art
