Mountain Bike Leader Award: Night Module – Course Booking Requirements Introduction The Mountain Bike Leader: Night Module extends the remit of Mountain Bike Trail Leaders/Technical Leaders or higher to lead rides between dusk and dawn. Duration: 1 day/12 hours Time: 9am to 9pm – October to March (Suggested training window but timings may change subject to hours of darkness).

Number of Participants: Minimum – 6. Maximum – 8. Cost: £209 per person. £1316 per group of 8 participants. Booking: Please provide a minimum of 3 dates to allow allocation of tutor. Cycling UK will forward a booking form to confirm dates, cost and venue requirements. Participants will receive more details upon course sign up. Pre-Requisite Qualifications & Experience Age Limit: Minimum age is 18 years old. Leader Qualifications: Level 1-3 Mountain Bike Leader Award. Certification will be withheld until proof of leader qualification is received. Participants may email a scanned copy of their certificate to Training@CyclingUK.Org First Aid Certificate: All participants must hold a valid 16 hour outdoor first aid certificate. Certification will be withheld until proof of first aid qualification is received. Participants may email a scanned copy of their certificate to Training@CyclingUK.Org Ride Experience: Participants must be confident on non-technical and technical terrain and able to carry out their leadership role whilst riding in night time conditions. They must have participated in a minimum of 10 night rides in 2 or more different areas.

Venue and Resource Requirements The Course Organiser is responsible for booking the venue. The following facilities will be required for the duration of the course: Facility Classroom

Note: Consideration should be given to set up and tidy up times when booking venues (30 mins either side). Catering A kitchen/cafe facility is preferable for classroom sessions; however, participants will be advised to bring a packed lunch. Tutor to provide tea, coffee and other refreshments, as required. Participants will require suitable food and refreshments for night ride (Flask for hot beverages).
