A weekend at Hildasholm Christmas is approaching and the family gathers again. After months apart, scattered in different parts of the world, everyone looks forward to these occasions. When the siblings arrive to the magnificent manor the snow starts to fall, and the winter begins. After a few hours of intense fiery in the antique tiled stoves the temperature is rising in the house. The relaxing activities can now start; books to be read, walks to be done by the lake, love trouble that need to be discussed and Christmas songs that should be practiced at the piano in the lounge. The children rejoicing over the snow fall, as they enjoy getting out in the stunning garden. Thereafter they enter the house again and look into the ancestral magical dollhouse or play with puzzles in the glow of the fire.

CTH MINI When a new generation was born into the family business in 2007, we started looking through past collections from the 50s and 60s. What we found were extraordinary styles that we just had to start producing again. The CTH MINI collection of Autumn/Winter 2014 consists of all that one can wish for. Warm, waterproof, padded aviator hats, nice-looking newsboy tweed caps or a chic wool beret. We would like to offer one hat for each and every occasion for the coming chilly season.

CTH Ericson Christmas party 1936

Headwear since 1885 When we speak of tradition and history at CTH Ericson, we mean it. Way back in 1885 Carl Theodor Ericson opened up a shop selling hats and caps in Borlänge, Sweden. In the early 1900s, Carl Theodor expanded the business from simply having the store to start making his own hats and caps. The business grew and in the 1950s the number of employees at the hat factory was 230, during that time CTH was the largest workplace for women in Borlänge. Even today, we hear many stories of grandmothers and aunts who been involved and contributed to CTH’s history. We are still manufacturing selected models in Sweden. Otherwise, we use a few selected suppliers within EU that can deliver the quality as a CTH cap requires. We strive to use fabrics and other supplies originating in Europe, all in order to provide such a locally produced product as possible. Today, more than 125 years later, we continue to deliver caps and hats to the Swedish people. The difference then from now is that CTH’s caps now can be found in major parts of Europe and many other countries around the world. We hope that Carl Theodor Ericson would be proud!
