recorded material before using it You should always review your recorded material before using it. This is because if you do not you could be left with audio which you may not necessarily want. You could have un cut clips in your audio, unwanted background noise, audio could be too quite/to loud ect You could also check to see what you can and subtract from it. Therefore, the benefits of reviewing your recorded material before using it benefits you as it means that you do not have unwanted material in your piece. If you do not check before calling it a finished piece you will be left with unwanted noise and it will make your overall product less pleasing. Naming tracks and clips You should always name your clips and tracks as it is very organized it will make finding your things on your desktop much more easy and it saves a lot of time in the long run. Naming your clips will benefit you massively as it means that you’re more likely to know where it’s bee saved and if you do not you should have an idea of what it’s called and you’ll hopefully never loose any work. If you do not remember to save your work and go back to your desktop to find it whilst it has no name it will be much harder to find and sometimes results in you not ever finding it. In this case your work will be lost and you would have to do it all over again. Overall this will be bad because you obviously did the work in the fist place for a reason so not finding it will be disappointing. Luckily now most edited documents automatically get a relevant name and title and if you forget to name your work there will already be a named document on your desktop. Dragging clips into timeline for readiness We drag clips into timeline for readiness because it’s easier and faster to do. All you have to do is drag your mp3/4 onto the timeline in your software of choice and then edit it. It works out to be more sufficient for you. If the procedure is not followed you will have to do it the long way. Most software do it differently but in Logic you will have to right click on the audio section and then click add audio file and convert the file from your desktop in the audio box. This will end up taking a longer time and it’s not even necessary.
Repositioning the order of different segments of audio When you’re recording your audio you will each record all of your characters clips in one go and you will need to cut the clips up once added on to software then you can reposition your clips so it matches what you want it to much and it will sound better. If you do not reposition it it’s basically not edited and it will not sound good effecting your overall product. The benefits of using keyboard shortcuts in comparison to mouse One of the biggest pros of using keyboard shortcuts over using your mouse is its efficiency. Using a mouse can be very time consuming in comparison to using keyboard shortcuts. For example, if you want to select text in a document you can press ctrl +A. whereas, if you want to do that using a mouse you have drag it across the text and a lot of the time it goes wrong like it will only select half the text or sometimes none. Using your mouse can get frustrating, a lot of the time. It’s also good for multitasking as it derives from the first motive and basically means that when you use the keyboard you don’t have to follow a pointer to see what you are doing and you can semi- automatically do other task.
