Chair’s Foreword It gives me great pleasure to present this year’s Annual Impact Report on behalf of the Trustees of Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind. The last year has been unprecedented, one of the most challenging times that has affected everyone’s aspect of normal day living. There are major health and well-being inequalities across the South Wales valleys, with one of the poorest wellbeing rates in the UK, which has been a key feature in feeding into the very high Covid infection rates and deaths in our communities. It has been a very difficult year but there is optimism for the future. Now is the time for the charity sector to step up and work in partnership with the wider health, social care and housing staff to respond to the new needs that exist. I am proud to pay tribute to all the staff of Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind who were able to step up and adapt its services to people’s real needs during the pandemic and also how the services will be able to respond to the aftermath of the social restrictions the whole country has endured for so long. I know CTM Mind is prepared for the future and will continue to support individuals, giving a clear focus on people in poverty, children experiencing trauma and suicide prevention. I, the Trustees and the Leadership Team will ensure that the focus remains on organisational resilience, which is being true to our values and purpose and thereby ensuring that CTM Mind remains sustainable and responsive to those who need us.
