VIRGIN OF THE CANDELARIA FESTIVAL Puno

This festivity is one of Peru´s wildest parties, honoring Puno´s patron saint. Be captivate watching a contest of mestizo dances where participants make great choreographies, expressing their fervor to the Virgin. CARNIVALS IN CAJAMARCA AND AYA C U C H O A Legendary Peruvian Tradition

The carnivals begin with the entrance of “ño carnavalon”, personage, represented in the form of a doll that is buried for a year, and that the next day wakes up to the sound of the big party in the central square of the city; Urban groups start singing and dancing with great enthusiasm and colorful costumes; days full of crowd is heard by all the city.

HOLY WEEK Peru customs country

Peru is a country of local customs and manners, Cities like Lima, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca and Cusco, keep an ancestral tradition that is a part of the religious experience shared by persons of all the ages or social conditions. The days of Holy Week are realized processions that identify the peoples and serve to join the society beyond its differences.

DAY OF THE PERUVIAN PASO HORSE Third Sunday in April

The Peruvian Paso Horse is a unique specimen, recognized worldwide for having characteristics that distinguish it from other races; the particularity more notorious is the elegant and delicate step in his walk. During the whole year you can enjoy a majestic demonstration of horseback accompanied with distinguished "chalanes" (riders Peruvians).

INTI RAYMI

Inca festival of the sun

Every June 24th, we celebrate the most important pre-Columbian festival, The Inti Raymi. This ceremony starts as soon as the sun rises, the Incas express its recognition and adoration to its universal God, the one who creates light and sustained all the things on Earth, they thanked for harvests received throughout the year.

PAUCARTAMBO Adoration to the virgin of carmen

On July, Paucartambo renew its faith, happiness and hopeless, under the celestial protection of the Virgin del Carmen, or also called, “Mamacha del Carmen�. The festivity is a colorful performance of dances and lights which recreates the devotion that various ancient ethnic groups had by the Virgin.

AREQUIPA ANNIVERSARY August 15th

Founded on August 15th 1540, Arequipa is one of the most emblematic cities of Peru, citizens celebrate developing cultural customs during all August. This is a traditional celebration carried out on San Lรกzaro square and in Yanahuara district. Handicraft exhibitions, festivals of dance and a great diversity of cultural encounters framed the celebrations of this beautiful city.

MISTURA The gastronomy fair most important in south america

MONTH OF THE LORD OF THE MIRACLES Purple month

The Lord of the Miracles, also known as the "Christ Moreno" is represented through the image of Christ on the cross located in Nazarenas church of Lima and was painted by a slave of caste Angola called Peter Falcon. The image is venerated by Peruvians and foreigners, this is Peruvian tradition considered the largest religious manifestation of the world.
