Dear Readers,

Since last month, after a great response from CTPOA's members providing input on a new CHFA loan program, we met with both the Commissioner for the Dept. of Housing and the President of CHFA on October 12th. We have strong concerns that funds are urgently needed to help local non-owner-occupied mom and pop landlords who had been hit hard by unscrupulous renters that never lost their job or income but simply stopped paying rent. At the meeting, the next step is to do a survey to determine the extent of this situation and what financial aid package can be prepared as other funds may be able to be bundled together. We welcome your thoughts and own experiences on this situation, please email us at: info@ctpoa.com.

Politics shape everything lately. Did you ever really look at the word formation? Poly means many and Ticks are blood sucking creatures - interesting thought!

Helping Property Owners Since 1994

The Boston Mayor's race is heading to the finish-line with Michelle Wu, a pro-tenant, farleft-leaning candidate squaring off against Essaibi George, who supports private property owner rights. If you are not aware of this fact, after the Supreme Court determined that the federal eviction moratorium was an overreach of power, Boston, Sommerville and Camden enacted new eviction moratoriums of their own, thus begging landlords to file lawsuit for relief.

CTPOA has been acting as a volunteer consultant with a couple of groups in Massachusetts that are now trying to organize and fight

back. Landlords have lacked a voice in government affairs for over two decades in Massachusetts and Rent

Control, Tenant's Guaranteed Right of First Refusal (delaying any sale by up to 6-months), Just Cause Eviction and other nasty policies are progressing to become law unless the rental housing community pulls together and wins the battle.

Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts, and we look forward to seeing you at some of our upcoming meetings and events we have in the works.
