Joining the Culford 20:12 Club Culford School’s Foundation is committed to raise £1.65 million in support of five key development projects as part of a fundraising campaign, the Campaign for Culford: • •

A landmark Library destined to become the academic hub at Culford. A fully refurbished Hastings & Skinner teaching block and a newly landscaped piazza incorporating the William Miller & Bristol Myers Science buildings. A renovated Art Department including a stunning new gallery and the construction of a part-glass roof to transform a large teaching space. A newly refitted dining complex to serve all four schools which make up Culford. The refurbishment of key rooms in Culford Hall, including the Workman Library and the installation of modern kitchen facilities within the Hall.
A generous benefactor has pledged a lead donation of £250,000 and our aim is to match this. We therefore seek 32 donors to join the Culford 20:12 Club; offering 12 gifts of £20,000 and 20 gifts of £12,000. At launch we have our first pledge for £20,000 and the Headmaster has committed to be one of the 20 with a gift of £12,000. Are you willing to help us with one the remaining 30 gifts which we need to help fulfil Culford’s ambitions? Members of the Culford 20:12 Club will have their generosity publicly acknowledged within the new Library development and will be invited to the official opening ceremony. We plan to celebrate donors’ contributions with an annual reception at Culford and all gifts will be recorded in the Campaign for Culford Book of Donors. How you could make a Gift to the
Culford We are seeking:
20-12Club
12 Gifts of £20,000 and 20 Gifts of £12,000 either as a one-off gift, or pledged over 3 years If you are a UK tax payer we can increase the value of your gift by 25% by claiming back the basic rate of tax that you have already paid on your donation from HMRC. This means that for every £1 donated we can claim an extra 25 pence through Gift Aid. A £20,000 donation thus becomes worth £25,000 and a £12,000 donation increases to £15,000. Alternatively, you may wish to make your donation net of the amount that we can claim back in Gift Aid. This way, providing you are a UK tax payer who has paid an equivalent amount in tax during the year of the gift, a £20,000 donation will cost you £16,000 and a £12,000 donation will cost you £9,600. This is how it works:

*if you are a higher rate tax payer ie you pay tax at 40% or 45%, you are entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate of tax claimed in Gift Aid and your highest rate via your self-assessment tax return or through your local tax office.
