The Pre-Prep’s first residential trip was a resounding success! 26 PP2 children spent a fun filled and action packed three days in Norfolk. They shared dormitories, showed amazing team-work and organisational skills and had enormous fun in all the activities.
The children slept in one of four dormitories, Foxes, Badgers, Squirrels or Hedgehogs. Hedgehogs were the quietest and Foxes most definitely the loudest!
Orienteering, tracking and playing in the gardens were great fun! The boggy ground made for some muddy hands and clothes! Using pooters to collect bugs and counting the rings on a tree stump were challenging!
Craft activities included boat making and t-shirt printing.
Once shelters had been built they were tested in a thunderstorm - to see how waterproof they were! Some were better than others!
The boats raced in two events; the Whitwell Splash and the Whitwell Regatta. There was fierce competition throughout, especially to beat the Whitwell Wizard. In the Splash knockout event first place went to Mrs Rossiter, second place to Olivia Dearman and third to Miss Trow. In the regatta Joel Littlefair’s boat managed to wend its way through the weeds, mud and capsized boats to cross the finish line in first position.
